  • Gob's version, this guy's version... I guess this song wasn't meant for the Stones to play it.

  • one question! Is this song originally performed by Chris Farlowe or by The Rolling Stones? Thank you for answering.

  • @kekecnakvadrat take a guess listen and look at the picture...Chris.

  • Stone is better! ;)

  • I checked the Rolling Stones' version of this, and it was the first time I chose to listen to a Stones' song, and I like Farlowe's more.

  • Can we just enjoy ? it all gets a bit deep for me.

  • It might interest you to know that Paint it Black was written by Jagger-Richards specifically for Chris Farlowe and that this recording (indeed on Immediate) was produced by Mick Jagger. So knock off the damned pissing contest and enjoy a masterpiece.

  • @Aptitude You didnt upset me, I am aware wikipedia isnt a great source (thats why I brought it up, to explain why I have little to say about the guy). :p

  • @Aptitude well, as PaintItBlackTV's creator... I am into a large variety of music, but blues and jazz is not one of them. He may be a famous singer, he may be a hobo... I wouldnt know other then from what I read from Wikipedia... and Wikipedia did make him sound as you say, a common singer. I was aware he is famous, but I am not going to bother putting in the description a huge ass lesson and do research just to please fans like you. This whole point of the channel is the song itself.

  • toutes les version sont bien , faut juste choisir l heure ou on les mets lol

  • THE GREAT CHRIS FARLOWE, THE GUY IS DYNAMITE, Colin Dale Radio Sutch

  • Great cover by Chris but Jagger does it better!!!!!!!

  • I'm not saying it's as good as the Stones but everytime I hear a different version of Paint It Black I usually like it I guess that's because it was one of my favorite records when I first heard it at age 15 I never heard this before and it's good but different I had never heard anything buy Out Of Time by Chris Farlowe It was the only song by him I heard on New York radio back in the day

  • Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.

  • @canzoet, you're not serious, surely? If you are, i suggest you play the 2 tracks back2back AGAIN! this is an "okay" cover

  • HELL FRIGGIN YEAH!

  • Much better than the Stones version.

  • @canzoet Totally disagree. When it came to blues this guy was a much better singer than Jagger but the Stones version kicks ass over this version. It just wasn't the right song for him to sing but fit Jagger like a glove. Listen to Chris sing Stormy Monday though and I wouldn't even want to hear Jagger singing that tune.

  • @canzoet agree, far better than the Stones

  • @canzoet You are kidding of course or drunk

  • Chris Farlowe is still on tour with Colosseum. By the way, this version ist much better than the one Mick Jagger sings himself. Farlowe is very underrated in my opinion, just listen to other Videos posted here.

  • American Idol has a rolling stones night on march 16,2010,Somebody should have tried the Chris Farlowe(produced by mick jagger)this remains a totally outasight version with the strings, keyboards etc.

  • If I am not mistaken British rocker Chris Farlow recorded on Immediate records the same label that gave us small faces and the nice and surprisingly this also went top ten on top of the pops in Great Britan

  • Chris Farlowe was a great white blues singer in the 60's and had a couple if hits in the UK, one 'Out of Time' went to No.1 but his best, in my opinion, is 'Ride on Baby'. He covered a lot of great songs and still sings on the circuit with that great voice. I don't think this made the charts though, probably on one of his albums. Out of 11 singles five had covers of the Rolling Stones' songs on them.

  • excellent version
