and another thing city or county or US.Forest service they all fight wild land fires and see and go through things most people will never see or go through in there life time so give them the respect they deserve
city and wild land firefighters have there own dangers but think of this in a structure fire the fire is contained within a box most of the time. in a wild land fire the fire is free to go where it wants provided it has the fuel. now throw in an 40 to 60mph+winds I'll tell you what I was a hotshot for the US.Forest service when I was younger and I had to use my fire shelter you want to be scared try having a wildfire blow right over the top of you. you can't get any closer to hell
I am a city firefighter and I am a paramedic. Most of my fellow firefighters would sh--t their pants if they had to confront a wildfire. God bless and be safe.
Wildland firefighters are fake ass firefighters. A real firefighter works in the city and is an E.M.T., NOT A GROUND POUNDER. Go to college and get a college degree.
@kevin112191983 If you are going to have a insecure tantrum on the 'status' thing & feel the need to critisize others' I suggest a little truth here. An EMT does not require a college degree, while I do not want to be a 1st responder I still get the patients you deliver to the hospital as an RN with a 4 year degree and I don't feel the need to put down the non-degreed techs & ancillary staff. As for the wildland firefighters they have a brutal job & I have utter respect for them...
you know, we may need to iniciate a air fire brigade, although we already have one to some extent, but on a broad nationwaide scale - could actually come in handy one day.
I am a bit surprised the Red-Helmet Captain did not fire out the vegetation adjacent to the structure... and waited for the EMERGENCY action once it spotted there! Sorry guys and gals... been there many times where it is SAFER to commence a Fire... then to wait for it hit with the full force of the HEAD! BE SAFE!!! 3w's dot hftfire dot com
