This Hulk is 250-260mW vs a 95mW so there will be a large difference in burning ability.

The Viper 95mW can cut marked paper, light matches, pop balloons and burn lighter plastics and similar materials.

burning other things seem ok,most plastics and rubber it seems to instantly smoke. you can see that the beam is thicker to start with then thins out the further it travels,totally opposite compared to my viper.

i have just recieved my hulk 200mw laser. i also have a viper 125mw which can light matches. the hulk will pop a balloon twice as far than what the viper will but struggles to light a match. is this because of the 1.5 beam vs 1.2 on the viper? and do i need to experiment with different matches?

The wider beam width makes burning harder. Trying different matches may help.
