I've had my Lonestar Special for a few years, and recently played a show consisting of 25 Beatles songs... one of my favorite post-show comments was this guy going nuts over the tone I had for the lead part of She Came in Through The Bathroom Window - which was always my favorite George lead tone. Such a great amp. This song hear is beautiful btw. I get side-tracked easily when I'm commenting - but it is really beautiful
Amazing guitar playing, love that new Ibanez thinking of getting one, I know I'm a long time Gibson, Strat fan. Looks like the Ibanez would hold it's own.
Thanks to Mesa Engineering for posting this on thier website. Thats how I found this guy. He really is an amazing artist. I have been hooked listening to this album for a couple of months now and he truely is an amazing guitar player.
Is he using the Stiletto for the dirt or the Lonestar? Or neither? Pardon the ignorance, I'm new to Mesa's. Never really looked at them much till today.
I agree. I know he's listening to more music through the headphones than we hear but the beginning is soft guitar work and he's moving around and making faces like is done when playing more powerful stuff like later on in the piece. This is usually the guy filming or producer egging them on to show more emotion than is called for just to get that feel for the video. I think it worked in the opposite direction here. This guy, however, has all the feel he needs in his playing. He's flawless.
Well it seems like the 'secret' to his style has been digging also into classical and jazz plus studying the necessary parts of music theory. It pays off in the long run. No Mozart, no rock music either..
I've been trying to learn this song. His technique is so full of little nuances it's nearly impossible to replicate. Andy is the man. I love the Resolution album.
I love the tones as well. The cleans on the Stiletto are gorgeous. Sounds very close to a Hiwatt, to my ears at least.
The guy's just got it all. Period. Zero weaknesses in his playing and composition. He's got mind-blowing technique, but he actually understands that technique is just the grammatical rules of the musical language, not the actual poetry. That's called "getting it", folks.
WELL PUT! I never thought about it that way... but it is so true!
Knowing alot of big words doesn't mean you are able to make a good, well articulated point. You have to know how to put those words into a well constructed phrase!!
Technique is the vocabulary, phrasing and soul are the poetry!
Andy is truly one of my all time favs if not my all time fav! Everything he plays moves me & takes me somewhere else no matter if he's shredding, or playing just like this! He always has tons of emotion! He helped me finish my record the way I wanted to! Check out my vid "The Hurt Stops Here" it has allot of soul & emotion, & I was trying to think Andy when I did it, even though it doens't sound like him! He's such an inspiring Guitarist! Maybe the best!!
He is ONE OF A KIND, Really! So Unique and soulful and can shred all day long and still plays with so much feel. My favorite guitar player in the world!
The most beautiful thing I've witnessed in a long time. The song, the tone & performance....seriously.
