  • good man for clearing that up (yes when i was a kid i burnt logs that were too big if the fire lasted that long) but the fire was doused watched for about 30 mins and ashes were either removed (taken home or binned in a tin can or two we'd find locally) and i was about 14 at the time probably shouldn't have been doing it but it looked like a new sight every time apart from a circle of rocks

  • i have been too many sites in scouting and all of them have tin cans or plastic bottles it is very sad

  • if you can pack it in full, how can you not pack it out empty? never understood.

  • a jetboil? wow

  • I feel your pain Sean, where I grew up down in Texas and now here in Canada it doesn't matter teens are all the same US,Canada,UK

No Respect for any one or any thing

They just leave it where it falls

We, my buds and I would have never left that crap. As my dad alway told me you never shit where you eat

That my friends is a media fore

It means if you make a mess clean it up

  • @winnipegdiver Well mate, its definetly not all teens that are like that, i for sure aint like that just because i'm a teen ;) Its all about having respect for the nature and other people !!! :D

  • i have seen a few comments about the sound volume, i have not had a problem as i have a 3.5 mm jack to jack lead connecting it to 3 big ass speekers, appart from that great video!! and 1 great point made!

  • I had little problem with the volume, I just turned it up but that's unimportant. In my opinion leaving a mess like that is just inexcusable, people doing such vandalism should have there license to leave town/city revoked. If you think chopping up trees and burning gas canisters is fun, do it in your own backyard, I wont mind because I'll be in the forest, hopefully enjoin a peaceful and clean moment of serenity. Thank you Sean for voicing this, you just made my hero list!!!!!

  • that was either a very drunk human or a bear that attacked a very drunk human....

  • those butane canisters are FUN to throw in the fire dude!!

  • I've got my volume cranked up to 11, and I still can't hear a word this guy is saying. From the comments I get the impression that his message is good. How can anyone hear him though?

  • I hear ya brother. I'm not a tree hugger, but I do believe we have to be good stewards. It's a win...win attitude for everyone. Otherwise, we all lose!

Thanks for posting this and making a great point.

  • I brought a jet boil and they're not cheap! What a waste of a perfectly good stove. If they didn't want it that much, I would have it.

  • It's a shame and it happens all to often. I have a place not to far from me that I used to go to alot when I was young now it's just a dump from idiot people like that. Thank you for being responsible and respectful.

  • Its people like that who make it hard for us to find good places to practice out skills int ehw oods anymore. Good on ya for clearin that up.

  • Bush litter is a major problem here in new zealand - and the local population always put the blame on the tourists, who, by the way, show a hell of a lot more respect for the land than the indigenous population ever does.

Most townies and city dwellers treat the bush as either a tip or a toilet. More like lads like you are always needed. Cheers, mate!

  • I think the stove was destroyed by an alcohol stove user who just couldn't stand the noise any more! ;) Good on ya for taking the time and effort to clean up. I'd like to second the motion to see if there's a way to boost your audio levels? Hard to hear on my netbook...

  • The issues seem to be with the laptops. I wil;l purchase a different video editing program and see if that helps.

  • True, a desktop system with a powerful speaker/subwoofer system can easily boost a low volume level. I haven't owned a desktop for years though... use them at work, but at home a netbook and/or laptop does all I care to do (except blast audio!)

  • @seanmulhall I'm not using a laptop and I've got my YouTube volume and system volume turned up all the way and I can still barely hear you.

You probably need to use a remote microphone because I can hear you when you walk close to the camera.

With a wireless remote mic you clip it to your lapel and put the box in your pocket. At the camera you plug another box into it. Then you can walk all around and it will record as if you are always standing next to the camera.

  • I hate people who dont clean up their campsite to make it look as if they were never there.

  • It is the same everywhere :'(

  • dude it looks like someone got there bag stolen and then they made mischief.

  • Very cool to see someone cleaning up. it is very disheartening to see trash, not even as severe as that, in the woods. I feel the same way; when I enter and leave a site I pick up after myself and others who have left trash. So the site is in a better state for the next person or no one at all.

  • f**k me....that's disgraceful...

  • Good man cleaning up all that crap. I just hope more people learn from this.

  • mate was it really necesary to take 6 minutes to say 'clean up after yourself'

i mean fair play your hearts in the right place but meeehh.

  • Im not sure what you are refering to. If its to the time I took to clear up after the campers then , it takes as long asit takes.

  • Sean, i know exactly what corpsegrinder was on about. Your videos are great but they are incredibly slow, too. Maybe that's on purpose, in which case fine. But I understand people getting frustrated with the snail's pace you have chosen to get your message across. In any case, thanks for clearing up and making the video. The message, even if very slow, is also very important.

  • wow your a GREAT person

  • @corpsegrinderfisher your an idiot he was showing how he has found this mess and how he cleared it all up dont take the piss out of him for doin it you fool.

  • it is nice to have a fire and a cuple of beers but part of it is tiding it up

  • where are you filming this...in the UK? If so all that gear is stolen for certain.

As we all know most humans have NO respect for their enviroment whether its in a town or in the bush.

But cudos to you to clean up that area.

  • yes it is in the UK. I'm not sure if it was stolen or just disgarded by irresponsible campers.

  • The irony is, those people would be the first to complain if they came across a pile of crap where they wanted to camp! It's also so hypocritical - they are there to get away from city life, so why leave the place like a city dump?

I'm a new sub and am so glad to have found your channel. Keep this stuff coming, Sean!

  • Thanks

  • Good effort on the vid sean! I really hate the litter ridden campsites. I light fires when I camp, if safe to do so and/or if needed but I tidy them up so there is minimal risk of it catching and ensure you cannot see the fire pit at all...looks like nobody was there! Which in my book is how it should be done. Regarding is it your responsibility...well, when I was younger my grandad used to tell me if we all collect one piece of litter everytime we go out, problem solved.

  • gotta be said im one 4 leaving a mess where i camp (usualy due to being pissed up) but even then I atleast go back and sort it out the next day. I dont tend to blow up my own supplies though... :S

  • Good for you for being honest. Its rare to find any one who will own up to it. But at least you go back after and clean the site.

  • Hunt them down and give them some spank :-( Hate that kind of ppl.

  • Its weird there was so much gear that was worth money there like a jetboil 80 POUNDS or there about....but I didn't see a load of beer cans???lol

You may of had to clean it up....but you got some free gear!

You talked about taking something but not giving something back......You gave something (your time and good will!) but got stuff back...lol!

    5/5 Leading by example!

  • where about's is this? Is it quite far off the beaten track, or can I hear a motorway in the background?

  • About 40 mins walk from the carpark but at the end of a run way. Fairly remote.

  • Take Only Memorys and leave only footprints. Thats what everyone camping in the woods should go by it's so simple like sean showed to clean up

  • Right on Sean!! I do ALOT of hiking/backpacking and I see alot of trash people leave behind. Such disrespect!! Those people need to stay at home!!!!

  • Good man, im big into my outdoors too and i hate the scum who ruin my woods!!!

  • good god its ****-ends like that force the aurthoritys into having the such harsh restrictions then they dont even listen then,it makes me realy realy realy etc anoyed

  • nothin makes me more angry out in the wild wen people do that. i just cant beleive some people.

  • humans are by far the most discusting aminals on the planet. if your going to litter you better hope it will biodegrade. if it won't than bring a fucking garbage bag with you. if you need a gas stove to go camping... don't go. the only thing thats good that MIGHT come from littering is if somebody was in a surval situation and found it some of the garbage may come in use.. but it's no excuse... clean up your shit!

  • your a good man sean

and i bet that jel boil and everthing else was stolen

  • Sean...

Ludovico Technique on the hulligans that left that mess.

  • You aren't alone Sean. My dad always told us to take more than we brought with us, in other words, clean up after those who are clueless. At 70 he still packs out stuff on his walks.

  • your a legend well done m8 i hate it when people leave stuff i meen other people want to enjoy it two and they cant expect somone to pick it up. p.s leave nothing but footprints o and a jet boil.

  • I think your tin foil hat is slipping there bud.

  • He Sean, Good vid, point well made... I've personally logged bags and bags of rubbish out of my local woods but I'm not sure how to get the porta-potty and the bullet-ridden washing machine out...

    cheers

  • Lazy scum...

  • Here in Arizona, there are a lot of people who regard the desert as some kind of wasteland or dump. Millions and millions of beercans, everywhere. It's disgusting.

I really wish people wouldn't move here who can't see the desert the way I see it.

In any case, I share your disgust.

  • lol, there never gunna find there way back to that place again, nice touch with the twigs. Hope next time they get lost in the woods n come to appreciate the iportance of not wasting things. Only Take out what u need. And definatley don't leave it there when u come back you un-greatful fools....

    Safe Vids

  • Sean what is up with your videos lately ...they are all squished. You look very tall and skinny.

  • people like that give us ppl that enjoy nature to the fullest a bad name! thanks a lot assholes!

    totally agree with u sean!

  • in your desription you spelt corect wrong, wasnt sure if you knew

  • its spelt correct not corect

  • its spelt shut up not sht up

  • you tell em sean

  • It disgusts me too Sean, that people leave their shit around like that. I applaud you for cleaning up after those pigs.

  • There just drunk.. )>-.-)>||

  • wtf........ who does that i mean u can understand if theres like 1 can but that whoa~~ that bull shiz they could have a least took the trash wth no respect for nature or anything........ drunk faggots

  • I hate that as well. Over here it is usually ruined with broken bottles, burnt cans and nearby there is human shit. No respect for nature.

  • Sad that there's people that stupid out there. Good video Sean - something that everyone should remember.

  • That JetBoil is $150.00 here in northern canada...stupid stupid people. Good to see you cleaned up after the pigs!

  • definetly one of my "pet hates" to. So many places are destroyed and access denied to the rest of us because of idiots like this. Good show for cleaning it up.

  • how leaves an 80 dollar stove and pot at a camp site and even wors they blew it up i mean they are just stupid

  • did you at least take the para cord and the machete sheath at least you can get some good stuff from drunken stupid people. lol. but it is important to clean up your camp site before you leave it and to make it as you we never there.

  • Sean,

I love your video's. Just one suggestion, please please please, find a way to increase the audio levels. I always have a hard time hearing your video's in particular. I am sure part of the problem is my horrible laptop speakers, but I dont have problems hearing other peoples videos for some reason.

    Keep up the great work.

  • Good point fox. Cool video !

  • "What kind of idiot do you have to be to set lite to your gas cylinder" - My bet is, a drugged out, drunken idiot. Might have set fire to himself while he was it at lol. I wouldnt be surprised if this moron left the useable stuff ie sheath/cordage on account of packing up quickly to run to the hospital for severe burn treatment. Thanks for doing your part to keep the woods pristine though Sean, you do yourself and our community a good service.

  • Sean

Lots of respect for this vid!

I folded a bin bag up and weighed it.. 10.1grams! It takes literally no space up in a pack, and has many uses. This is just one of them!

  • good one ,,,5/5

  • ur videos are really good but alway very quiet and hard to hear u in :(

  • Sean I understand the feeling of disappointment seeing all that rubbish out there... I hate stumbling on to old campsites filled with other peoples rubbish... How hard is it? You brought the shit with you, take it back home or at least take it to a dumpster.. Its not that frikkin difficult is it?

Should we really need "naturepolice" ? Do you want that? Guys, pick up your rubbish and tidy up the campsite, its not only for the rest of us, its for the animals to... Nature cant remove it...

  • nice hat. wish i could pull that off.

  • 5/5m8

  • Anyone else noice that most of the rubbish you see nowadays is not even fit for human consumption? Theres allways mcdonalds wrapppers and coke botles all over the place

  • Unfortunately I share your pain my friend. I constantly find sites like this when I get into the woods. It truly is a shame some people have no respect and dont deserve the rite to be allowed in our parks. Bravo for you cleaning up after such disrespectful pigs!!!

  • it's a shame some people are so inconsiderate...thanks to people like sean who will clean up after the wankers!

    thanks,

    M

  • Idiots they should clean up after themselves

  • I know its all your stuff.. xD

  • the paracord i'm having that thanks! idiots doesn't even describe them i hope they fall on that unprotected machete

  • Nice job Sean. It's to bad that people do not have any respect for the outdoors. I think that maybe people go out and buy all this fancy camping gear and then think they are bushcrafters. They should first embrace the wilderness for what it is , and give it the upmost respect.Good luck

  • Good on you Sean.

Who burns their Jetboil like that? Strange. IT's just a waste of money. It's almost like someone had left the cmpsite and someone other people came along and trashed it.

  • who ever left that stuff deserves to be kicked in the arse. there is no excuse for that kind of ass hole behavior, that is the kind of stuff that gives us good bushcrafters a bad wrap. they need to be taught a lesson, what if an animal came along and their fire was still smouldering? absolutley no excuse

  • Well done Sean, great work mate, just sorry you had to do it. I've been in the same situation & know how annoying it is!

I wonder who's to blame, more and more people grow up in a society where everything is becoming disposable & throw-away. People need to teach more respect to the youngers in general. I taught my brother from an early age that you must clear up after you and pickup litter, he's 8 and is disgusted when people drop litter or make a mess of a site.

  • f**king clowns,i hate it,clean up as you go along,,easy

  • seeing this kind of stuff really makes me sick, most people have no respect for anything anymore. they wouldn't be like that if they were forced to live/survive in the wild, they wouldn't last 5minutes. if i had a pound for every time i saw something like this id be a rich man by now. nearly everywhere i go nowadays there is always someones rubbish left behind even if its only day walkers, its not that hard for ppl to spend 5mins clearing up after them selves or taking there rubbish with them.

  • This is sad watching this if it have been me i would Report it to the Police couse as u say there is no escuse for that mess and Why the hell burn and trash a Jetboil system thats a 50 - 60 dollar product if not more Damn

  • looks like a bunch of kids playing bushcraft.

funny how they treat there gear so badly on just one overnight trip. they have no respect for the environment, others using the area and themselves. plus they must be made of money to completely trash the stove like this. very sad.

  • I'm use to seeing things like this. I've seen toilets, old cars, garbage bags, tires, the list goes on. I know people who do things like this. I tell them to pick up. They just say "I don't care, leave it". Some people are just like that. No matter what you might say. They have no concept of respect.

  • Broken glass has ruined much of my gear over the years. Now I use a hammock most of the time because the ground is too risky to lie on in highly frequented areas.

I am continually disgusted by garbage in campsites and on trails. Treating the wilderness as a dump is just criminal in my book

  • Well said Sean! Litter anywhere especially in the woods is one my pet peeves as well. 5/5

  • I'll give you a contrary view. Since the desire to see pristine camp sites derives from within you, it's then your responsibility to make things they way you like them. What did it take you, five minutes?

Of course, you can always get together with llike-minded folks, fund a wilderness police and make other people do things your way.

  • Good point and I do clean up where I can but is it my responsibility to clean up after others?

  • Lol, there's no good answer to that. This is a variation of the the 'Tragedy of the Commons'. The folks leaving the mess derive all the benefit of the outdoors while putting the burden of clean-up on everyone else. There are two solutions to this. One is increased regulatory/enforcment activity, while the other is to promote private ownership of the resource. Being a libertarian I favor the latter alternative, whereas authoritarian liberals and conservatives favor increased government

  • Well there's always a third option: Police our own, though that may resemble vigilantism. People that leave this sort of a mess aught to be sprayed with bear mace at the least.

  • You would have had a heart attack if you came accross what I did on my bike on memorial day. A campsite with a smoldering fire, camp trash everywhere. And there was a pile of old roofing shingles, a broken AC, and other mics trash. I was so pissed off that I put my stealth cam there and if catch the guys who are doing this to the state forest they will become food for the scavangers.

  • I was instructed and follow "leave it like you weren't ever there

  • Man those where some idiots there! Looks to me more like someone stole someone elses stuff, I mean why would you burn a stove, leave your paracord, machete sheath, etc all there? Weird and completely disrespectful!

  • This is dascraceful but well put. This is the reason you cant always make fires in america.

  • and the reason why it's hard to find anywherethat you are alowed to camp at all in much of western europe.

  • I just had to clean up someone else's trash today too. I don't understand some people. Thanks for the important message! 5/5

  • I get all sorts of pissed of whenever I see this in the forest. I am lucky it is not often. 5/5 for the video Sean. PS:What is with the ratio?, looking squished haha
