I was there too on July 5th 1976, rollinontheriver. I was in the second row. It was phenomenal to see Elvis up that close and to hear his incredible voice when he sang "Hurt", and he asked the audience if they wanted to hear the last part again. He said, "I live close by so you know we got all night", which brought the house down. I also had the unbelievable fortune to meet Elvis in the Vickers gas station twice,10/4/76 and April '77. Elvis was as wonderful a person as he was talented.

I have to admit that I am a Beatlemaniac first, but I absolutely love this song. It is also the first Elvis song that I have ever downloaded off I-Tunes. Can anyone give me more background on it. I am a little confused: The Beatles stole "Get Back" from Elvis? I was trying to show some respect to Elvis as a Beatles fan. However to say that the Beatles stole Get Back from Elvis?? My friend was always Beatles right from the 60`s, I was Elvis, we used to have a few words, anyway, in June this year she went with me to Memphis and we did all the Elvis stuff, Tupelo, Graceland, Sun Studios etc., Guess what? she is worse than me now, she still obviously likes the Beatles but says she realizes now what she has missed out on all these years and wishes she had been "Into" Elvis a lot sooner.
