just a tip u shouldnt follow other peoples workotus u should create your own for ur specific body type and needs, its what i did and i can do 37 deadhang no kip pullups and 15 with a 45pound plate
fuck im about to sign into the delayed entry program for the marines, im so out of shape i stressing about these pullups and the run. i absolutley hate workin out but when i think of what its for it somewhat helps...but then when i start working out i have second thoughts of joining marines cuz it sucks so much. but then hour later im all pumped up again. i don't even know
@DubGaymer Haha it happens man. I was the same way when I was out of shape and PTing with my RSS. I doubted joining just for the physical aspect, but once i got in shape everything was much better and I love the workouts. Just stay motivated and keep running.
Nice Video, Reserve or not still a Marine. So fix your hat either you wear it the proper way or dont wear it all. Your Motivated Sergeant Rodriguez. Remember I know where you work at.
Underhand grip is improper form altogether. How you've made it this long without swapping is a mystery to me. Overhand grip (Back Primary Muscle) is the correct way for a USMC. Oh and btw there's no way you went from 9-20 pull ups and 5 weeks... Come on bro really?
@eQuali7y Last time I checked, they don't care which way you do it on the physical fitness test. I still get my 20 using underhand. And really bro, I went from 11-12 to 20-21 in about 5 weeks. I signed my contract on May 20th, 2006 and shipped off to basic training June 19th.
@eQuali7y I am a Marine and qualified to administrate the PFT. It does not matter if you use underhand or overhand or a combination of both. Also going from 9 to 20 is realistic.
@gh32231 If you cant do any pull ups you can do any one of the following: 1) have someone help push you up, 2) use a resistance band 3) use a chair under you to assist or 4) use a lateral pull-down at the gym.
cool video man. Im also doing the armstrong workout. How much was your training set at first? I can do 12 pullups now and i started at 2 in my training set at 2... should i do more? I feel like i dont get a workout on day 3 when i only do 9 different training sets... tips?
@robcole24 just be consistent and at first you won't be able to do many, but you'll see improvement as you go. Just try to beat your previous number of sets two to three days before. you have to give your muscle time to grow and get stronger, so don't expect any overnight results. I started at 12 pull-ups as well and when I was doing the training sets I could only do 2-3 and felt like such a WEAKLING lol. but you'll see soon that you'll be able to do more and more as the weeks go by. GL!
@Covertmaddroxx1 For the Marine Corps pull up test you don't have to but it would probably be beneficial and I'm doubtful you can do a pull-up without contracting your core.
hey wats up man im only 14 but i really For the marine corps they let you do your pulls ups how ever which way u want but will they let me do underhand for seal traing.
@Covertmaddroxx1 wat i ment to say was i know this video is for marines but i was asking if you know if the seals let you do your pull ups however which way u want like the marines let you.
@MegaRockman23 In terms of hand position, you can do pull-ups any way you want as long as your chin breaks the plane of the pull up bar, your arms are fully extended when coming down and you don't kip or use momentum to do the pull up.
Hi, I'm confused with the 2Day. My English is quite poor so i will give you an example of how i understand the Day 2 and just say if I'm right or not:
1pull up 10sec rest. 2pull ups 20 second rest. etc. than 7pull ups 70 second rest. and i can only do 5 after that, i rest for 50 second and do maximum effort set, f.e . 6 so after that I rest 60secs and go down to 5-50sec /4-40sec /3-30sec /2-20sec./ 1pull up?
I'm thinking about being a Marine reservist. How is it dude? Are you deploying anytime soon? I want to do reserves while I'm in college, but next year I have to sacrifice a semester for 6 months of training(boot camp, mct, and mos). What are the possibilities of being deployed as a reservist? Anything I should watch out for or tips in my training journey?
@DeuceisLegit It's been a great help as the Post 9/11 G. I. Bill is paying for most of my college expenses. The reserve drill pay plus the language pay amounts to a significant amount to the point in which I can live comfortably and focus on school without having to pick up a part-time job. For boot camp you can always do the 90-day reservist deal (IIADT), if they still have that, where you can defer MOS school and MCT. I don't really recommend it but if you dont want to miss school thats it.
@DeuceisLegit It's been very beneficial. With the Post 9/11 GI Bill, drill and language pay I'm receiving, I can comfortably go to college and focus on school full-time without needing any additional income. I won't be deploying anytime soon and I can't really guarantee if you will or won't be deployed. I've been a reservist for 5 years now and nearing the end of my contract and have never been deployed but have been on active duty at my own choice. You can split up your training btw
@CoachDinoM, Yeah but I heard they stopped the "split up" training program where you can do it each summer. And what do you mean you went active duty? you paused college and went active for a while? if so, how long did you stop college?
@DeuceisLegit no I didn't pause. I continued on active duty and went to school full-time taking both online and in-person classes at the community college. I transferred to the University of California San Diego after and went to school full time for about a year and now I'm coming back to active duty and taking part-time at the university again, since I have priority enrollment allowing me to pick up a lot of evening classes.
@CuntDangIt yes, you can choose whatever works best for you. For me and most people I meet, it's always easier underhand but really it's whatever you're used to. Just underhand uses more bicep and most people I have met have much stronger biceps than back muscles when pulling themselves up. try one day to do underhand and the other day overhand and see which is easiest for you. you can also choose to widen your grip or put it in closer, but i think the closer your hands are together, its harder
just a tip u shouldnt follow other peoples workotus u should create your own for ur specific body type and needs, its what i did and i can do 37 deadhang no kip pullups and 15 with a 45pound plate

@eQuali7y Yeah you are completely wrong, the USMC does not care which hand grip you use.
