  • No!!!!! I Disliike this so much! I Love Rabbits, :(

  • I have always thought of rabbit hunting as evil, considering a fluffy dog snatches up an adorable wild rabbit. But now that my uncle is training his new Jack Russel puppy to hunt rabbits, it's quite fun. I aid in training because I pull a piece of rabbit fur on the ground for the puppy to chase. Unusual, as one day we just found half of a rabbit skin lying in a state park trail :)

  • @amax7895 If you've never had rabbit, you can never appreciate the sport. Now that you're training a dog, that's the first step towards a whole new world of hunting. The dogs are amazing, and rabbit meat is delicious. I've never used a Jack Russell - they can be a bit stubborn. When you do your first hunt, be sure to film it, then send it to us!

  • What do you think is the best way to train a young beagle about 1 year to year and a half is?

  • @deerhunter250 Scent is the best trainer. Get a rabbit carcass and drag it around. Let the dog play with it and eat some rabbit meat. The dog will get a taste for rabbit, and will get used to the smell. Good luck!

  • dont put ur hand over the barrel

  • thats tight man.

  • is it hard to shot them?

i think alligator hunting is better then rabbits

  • @donzaliko Squirrel hunting is a great way to practice your shooting skills, practice using your senses in the woods and practice moving with stealth. They can be difficult to hunt, and they are small targets so you need to be a good shot - and a scope is a good idea too.

  • @donzaliko Normally people use shotguns, so they're not hard to hit. Others, who want more sport may use a .22 or a bow. Alligator hunting sounds radical!

  • both my beagles sally and lucy belle , passed away within a year of each other .i can remember the first thing they did as pups , was stick their noses in the ground and start sniffing. i can still hear their calls in the snowy timber ,canebrakes and deep brush piles. i couldn't stand the thought of replacing them. i tore out their kennel, but still have their collars and pictures on the wall.

  • wish i could do that but i only have 1 beagle. and i know they're unstoppable once they're loose

  • You can still hunt rabbit with just one beagle. That's what i do. You just get like 1/10th of the rabbits lol.

  • Beagles are great dogs. I would like to have a Beagles and a Black Lab.

  • @Captb55806 well if you live in country is a good dog, but if you live in the city you will hate beagles... beagles´s barks are so annoying

  • i was 12 before i finally figured out i was the dog. heck, i was still picking out thorns in june. a good chunk of my memories of my dad, my uncles and granddad center around hunting. i remember ,one time on thanksgiving we went out and ended up getting stuck in a blizzard. we didn't get back till dark , and the women folk were mad as h-ll.

  • My dog likes to chase rabbits and birds alot do you know why?

  • @Rockstar7653 Because he's a dog.

  • @AllenFilm lol

  • @Rockstar7653 Fail.

  • hunting with a dog like this is for back country hick cowards

  • and u can sit on a stump and wait

  • there's two ways to hunt rabbits, one with a beagle dog , and the second way is that you are the dog. a good beagle will run a rabbit in a large circle run it right back to you. what's that old saying about beagles?when the tailgate drops, the bulls--t stops.the sound of beagles is like music. without dogs, you are the dog. busting brush piles and thorn bushes ain't easy work. nothing beats the thrill or skill of rabbit hunting.

  • @weitzfc Well said - thank you for your comments. Whether with dogs or without, as long as you're ethical and within the law, it's a preference. At least you're getting out there! It's a great way for kids to reach success too because their chance at bagging a rabbit goes way up when dogs are used.

  • it isn't cheating hunting with dogs

the rabbits got a even chance there on the run

and why would they use .22 they would use shotgun

can't you tell by the bang

  • A man, hunting for rabbits with dogs is cheating. You need to get out there and do the work of the dogs. Now that's hunting rabbit!

  • @blebs99 Why deney those beagles a hunt, fuck i love beagles, I own a 2 month old now and he's a real hunter, chase birds and runs along side me and such.

  • did you use a .22?

  • great work, also can every dog hunt rabbits?

  • no it has to be under 15 inches at the shoulder and usally only beagles are rabbit dogs

  • @Rockstar7653 There are certainly breeds that are naturally more preferred, and the beagle is the best.

  • great video !!!

  • My uncle had the greatest beagle it got him birds rabbits but she died doing the thing she loved best running rabbits she died of a heart attack while hunting

    :(

  • my 25 lb Cardigan and 65 lb Akita love to chase rabbits. Only once in a great while does my Akita catch one, then my friend skins it for me and i feed it to the dogs. they love it! its like a reward and thats why i think thier every time sniffing for rabbits when i let them out.

    great dogs u have!

  • GREAT Video.........i loved rabbit hunting till about 4 years ago and my health got bad so now i cant get out any more.........THANKS for a awesome video...........made me feel like i was there !!

  • lmao...... my beagle just heard the dogs on here and came running in here looking for action!!! shes loooking at the computer and sniffing the floor like shes gonna find something!! lol

  • Lol, my beagles are doing the same thing. There front pawl is up nose in the air tail strait up. :P pritty funny

  • wow rabbit hunting in thick brush with almost no orange on....... intelligent

  • My Great Grand Father was a Rabbitt Hunter. From what my Dad told me he made great Rabbitt Stew. I hope to get a

Wincheter Wild Cat someday for Rabbitt Hunting.

  • I got my first beagle in November of 2008 and hes well trained and everything but doesn't bark when he hunts Is there something wrong with my dog?

His tail goes crazy and we do well but not a single bark or howl.

  • did you or someone kick his voice box?

  • some dogs tell you stuff in differnet ways.

like they got a kill or somthing

  • well keep takin him out there hes still tyoung and if you can try and get him with a good dog that knows wat its doin some dogs will not start running till there like a year old uve just got to be paicent

  • take him out with some other dogs that already know what they are doing. one will work but try to get him with two or three so he learns to run with the other dogs. im in pa and around here there are beagle clubs that will help u out if u get in contact with them try looking for one in your area if u dont have friends with dogs

  • payment plan thats a good name for a pup lol theres no greater sound than pups working a track

  • That looks like fun. Im moving to ohio after school gets out. I rabbit hunt all the time in Colorado. I eat the cottontails and leave the overpopulated, diseased jack rabbits lay. That would be awesome if my dad and i could go with you sometime.

  • i got a labrador and i want to going hunting with him, but my dad isn't too sure about it. Can you give me some good reasond for me to go hunting so i can tell my dad?

  • When a parent is unsure, there are usually numerous reasons for it... the whole shooting and killing thing, training the dog, not knowing if the dog will behave, being out in the cold, spending money on licenses, taking hunters' safety courses, the feelings of others (mom) whether or not you all would eat the game, and more.

You can't just get a dog and take him hunting. They need trained and worked with. The thing I would tell your Dad is that it's something you and he can do together.

  • me huntin rabits is old fashioned me and my best friend walk around some areas i watch with a .22 and sled or quad till we find them its always fun

  • yes, sleds and quads are very old fashion

  • Cool video guys. Rabbit hunting is my biggest passion and you guys really know your stuff. I agree with everything he had to say about the how the rabbits run in circle. If your interested in finding the best rabbit hunting in the world go to Newfoundland Canada. There are very few predators there and rabbits thrive in large numbers. Amazing rabbit hunting area.

  • or go n my back yard with my 30-30 lol

  • Love it. These guys know what they're doing. It's all about the dogs music man.

  • Hi there i too am a hunting fanatic i own three dogs, their names are babe, bell, and copper.(fox and the hound). i live in ohio and ive been hunting since i was 8. but i just have to say nice video and some nice shooting!

  • i dnt have ne dogs so i usually hunt them in winter when theres snow. its easier to see them and they come out more cus they need food. i usually use a ruger 22. , but my dad got me a bolt action camo marlin so im probly gonna use tht one. nice vid.

  • oh yea and i dont have a beagle or a hunting dog of somekind but ill figure out how to get the little bastards hahhaahah.oh well i enjoyed the video and ill look fowrd to rabbit hunting.

  • im starting hunting rabbits with my grandfather and he said hes going to buy me a 20 gage single shot shotgun.he said that a shotgun would be good for rabbit hunting i dont know. im going to buy the clothes and he said hes going to buy me the shotgun.

  • A 20 gauge is excellent for rabbit hunting. It's powerful enough to get through some of the brush they dive into, but it won't blow them in half like a 12 gauge. A .410 is a nice rabbit hunting shotgun too, although it can't get through some of the thicker brush like a 20 gauge can. But even a 20 gauge can't get through the really thick stuff, so keep your eyes open and try to get 'em before they get in to that thick cover!

  • u should use a basset hound.

  • at 3:03 thats a fat rabbit

  • Great Show!

There is NO other way to truly HUNT for rabbits than a great pack of beagles burning them up. The bond between a dog and his owner is one of life's true gifts.

    Enjoyed the clip!

  • its more challenging if u dont use dogs, u actually have to look for them and find them instead of haveing a dog chase them out in front of u

  • Hunting without dogs has its own reward, that's true. But what I've found is that the hunters who use beagles enjoy the experience of watching the dogs run just as much, if not more, than actually doing the rabbit hunt itself. It's that whole "man's best friend" bond, and it was a lot of fun. Truthfully, we bagged more rabbits too!

  • its not as easy as it looks try huning in the brush we got ud be lucky to see the rabbit

  • you could be 10 yards away and you wont see em, i what you mean.

  • when i get older i will buy a beagle and take it hunting well i have to trane it first im only 13

  • my beagle loves to go hunting. he will chase anything. i use him for rabbits and pheasants. good video

  • i have a beagle chases anything too and i have trouble with him going off of the rabbit trail

  • the only bad thing about my beagle is tht he doesnt like water. lol. if we shoot a pheasant and it lands in water we got to get it.

  • yeah my beagle retrieve rabbits or pheasents either

  • very good
