Two of the realest artists alive. So amazing to watch Mos Def stand in awe with his eyes closed listening to K'naan spit his accapella at the end there. He knows how true the words are coming out of his mouth. Mighty Mos and The Dusty Foot Philosopher.
am glad for knaan that he choose not to be a broken anthropologist but i hope that u wont follow the dollar just like they did and lost your poetry skil while trying hard to water it down to make cents like those dead rapers hope on your wisdom and we lookin forward to reading you books some day like Dambisa the finest african writer though many ppl dont know
brag about bustin a 9 millimeter, but whats that? out there in somalia we call it popcorn.. bricks chipped examplified the lives torn. amazing! this man is a genius
As far as one of the best influences hip hop has and as far as him being a great artist, and as far as him being one of the few great ones left, I agree with yah to no end, tho hip hop culture today, is "defined" by those who don't know what it is, and as much as real hip hop this is, he's right in his message, that even this watered down form of reality wouldn't see radio play most places both because ppl wouldnt want it out, and because the ppl wouldnt know how to receive it, its sad
K'Naan makes music to enlighten, educate and entertain...Bold yet humble, fierce yet compassionate, booksmart yet streetsmart...Some artists make music to make money and then there's K'Naan...a man wise beyond his years...Although he is steadily rising higher and higher he stays humble, sincere, true to his roots and grounded...No disrespect to other artists but, watch and learn...use your gift to make a difference...
"and its a misfortune you will never hear me the labels will divorce me cuz they fear me and no one will buy my records and i will remain the broke anthropologist my people left hungry with no apologize my mother old and gray in the ghetto hopping i will get a job and conform before my fourth child is born" THAT IS JUST SICK!!!
theres alot of other mucisians that sing about similar situations like K'naan... :P many african hip-hop artist(also called Hip-life) and KRS-ONE is always good when he talks about america ;)
do they sai this help me if i am wrong chorus my god can you imagine live in a ghetto so hard know for some this is real o my god can you imagine living in a city so fierce no police better hand then you o god can you imagine this is where the kids know dance growin up to be murdivers ma god can you imagine this is where we come from, come from

I though Jesus or Isa is refered to in Prophecies in the Holy Qur'an and Hadith that tell of a great Prophet's descension to earth
WHY MUST WE FOCUS ON DIVISIONS INSTEAD OF SEEKING THE UNITY AND LOVE THAT COMES ABOVE ALL IN RELIGION.
LOVE MY PEOPLE!
Thank you Djibriil for your thoughtfull and wise words
Tallent and the message is the important thing
I'd rather have this aired than the selfdistructive and weak music topping the charts
ONE LOVE - PEACE!
