I would think a properly modified rotary would work better in standing mile then a n/a ls series just because the rotary really has a great top end! also one reason why they don't need as much whp as piston engines to do good in the 1/4 mile... dont have to worry about valves and rods at those high speeds and rpm :D

@Tj1056 the rotary would probably require more power to reach the same speed, with the same gearing. because it makes its torque in a different location in its RPM range.  and the LSx engine doesn't need to worry about its valves and rods at high RPM, because it doesnt do high RPM :P

@Tj1056 LSX engines make a much more broad torque range. it doesn't matter where it drops, all that matters is that there is more of it, and where ever it is, there is gearing to support it.
