what are sabaki rules? the fights don't use distance as a strategy...or am i wrong...just trying to learn

Sensei Mazz, are the white belts yudansha? Is that required when you compete in sabaki challenge? I ask because I noticed the only ones not wearing white are colored.

Some of them are, but not all. There may be Brown belts and occasionally also green belts competing. But the fighters substitude their grade belts with white and red belts. (Nowadays Red and blue)

Yes, he's one tough guy. It's Sensei Attila Hartanyi from Budapest, Hungary. He is still active. This year he enterede the Sabaki Challenge Spirit and won the All Start veterans category for fighters above 35 years.

bravo to the guy on the last fight with the red belt.Great spirit .He got at least 5-6 hiza geri to the head and a couple of kicks and he keep fighting !!!!

By the way Ahihara was very greed as far as it concerns with his relationship with Mas Oyama and he is not a person worth to look up for.Has was more greed than Matsui was .But he was a great fighter though.

As for your presumtions regarding the late Kancho Ashihara I disagree. His split with with Kyokushin was not due to conflit with Sosai Oyama, but envy from behalf of other Kyokushin branch chiefs in the area, who demanded from Sosai that Noone was allowed to operate more than one dojo.

The kanji on kyokushin dogi's is one integrated figure. The ashihara kanji is 4 distinctive characters.

yeah, but this is not enshin karate. This is ashihara karate. Enshin is a offshot that broke out in the early 90ies, after the enshin was no 2 in ashihara ever since Ashihara (and the enshin guy) broke out of kyokushin in 1980).

Enshin holds the "sabaki challenge" events.

Ashihara holds the "Sabaki challenge spirit" events.
