This is my favorite version of Legend of the Condor Hereos. Mainly because of Ariel Lin. She is the best Huang Rong ever. Without her, this movie probably wont be that great. She's beautiful and has such a bubbly personality. She is perfect for that charactor. Oh and Lui Shi Shi is hot too. Best version hands down!

I lvd everythg abt this 2008 adaptation except for the CGI (truly bad) and the Yang Kang/Mu Nianci Yang TieXin/Bao XiRuo story. Those parts really slowed down the story but the rest were highly enjoyable. I really felt and cared for many of the characters here - which is highly unusual. That says a lot about the good casting esp for G Jing, H Rong, OYKe, HZGong, HYShi, MCFeng and Li Ping (GJing's mother). I've watched dis drama many times n nvr tires of de chemical btw GJing n HRong.

Yeah. After i watch thw 83 version, the rest are nothing. It's the longest and most detailed filmed in terms of the story plot. All the other versions after had cut away so many scenes off.

I totally agree with you! The cast were too old for their roles that were supposed to play. Guo Jing was supposed to be handsome and stupid, but he wasn't in the 2003 one. In this one, the script was good, except for the way Yank Kang died. Everything else, especially the relationship between Guo Jing and Huang Rong was great.

No. The one with Crystal Liu is Return of the Condor Heroes which is the sequel to this. This is LEGEND of the Condor Heroes which is about the generation before Yang Guo.

i just finished watching LOCH 2008 and i must say...Ariel Lin was a very good huang rong... its just a shame that she got dubbed.... but her actions and little subtle movements while portraying the character were great and it made me feel like i was watching huang rong and not just an actress..... and like every other thing she does.... she is very natural and when she starts pulling a tear jerker...

add on -you feel you stomach clench for her pain.... her performance in the show deserves a 5/5 and if you havent seen the show yet... you should watch it.... and for those of you who have seen other versions... dont compare... just enjoy it for what it is... because the director decided to make a few artistic decisions which i think makes it interesting... and if you were to ask me which version i liked better between the 2003 and 2008 version...

@BDxCrazyazian her dubbed voice is amazing, I don't think its'right for us to just complain that the voice is dubbed, nobody seem to realise dubbers are people too, her name is Huang Yiqing, and she's a voice actress that does MANY roles. I think alot of people overlook dubbers these days, they have to spend so much effort(12+hrs) a day, all the time in harsh environment to make our characters come to life, I think they deserve credit too

Because the story takes place in ancient mainland china, so she doesn't have the appropriate accent for it, so they dub her over for authenticity or something like that. Same thing with the fairy one too.

I must admit that the Wong Jung character did an excellent job. She reminds me of Barbara Yung. The Wong Jin's character is the worst of all, if not second. He's supposed to be masculine and naive, not gay looking. The only good thing about all the series coming out of China is the scenary. What a waste! From politics to movie making, China has all the resources but no able leader.

i don't understand why people hate this version just cuz they change it a bit...in the 83 version there were a lots of extra scenes that is not in the novel too...so why hate the changes???beside changes are good sometime mostly when there's like 4-6 version of this already...but of course too much changes can be a bad thing as well

Change is good if and only if it doesn't defeat the purpose of a point. For example, Yang Kon was supposed to be accidentally killed, not by Ou Yang Phong. Also, he was supposed to be intelligent and cunning. The idea behind this has to do with karma, which killed Yang Kon. Secondly, Ou Yang Phong was supposed to love his son, though he is cruel and evil. Finally, Wong Jung's father supposed to be very WEIRD, not somewhat rational. I can point-out more bad changes, but it would take pages long.

hu ge and ariel lin are super great actors! they're my favorite couple in this version. in the 1983 version, i liked yk and mc but in here, they didn't shine out as a couple. Their story dragged a little. ou yang ke is a cool villain thanks to li jie who did an excellent job portraying him.

At first when I heard that they're making a new LOCH, I wasn't looking forward to it. After watching this trailer, I change my mind. The cast seems fair in terms of acting and appearance. It's great to see Leung Ka Yan as HQG. I'll definitely look forward to this series and I'm getting the feeling that I'll be enjoying this adaption more than the 03.
