Does he normally sketch with this colour pencil? I would've thought a blue pencil, so that it doesn't shine through in the print - or does he just use this 'black' pencil so that the viewer can actually see his sketch in the video?

@stevejohn58 to me, it looks like a Conté Sergent Major nib. they are pretty hard to find, but there are some online stores that sell them. They have very sharp points and get stuck in paper very easily.
