@TheSuperSnoopyLover OK I'll try to explain: First it's the same guy and you've got it right... they were seing the same guy but in different moments... blond was his wife and while she was pregnant she wrote a diary to her unborn son cause she thought she won't survive... She and the baby died in the accident and after that dude met the brunette. He felt guilty for his son and wife and left the brunette but he left her a diary that his wife wrote to explain why he can't be with her
@TheSuperSnoopyLover and that two stories are combined in the present... while she's reading a diary they show us the most important things from the diary, and how the brunette and dude met... it's complicated to understand until you watch the entire movie at least twice..
