I think his ability to annoy the Hell out of people is what actually makes him such an effective villain: Ya just WANT the Autobots to freakin' KICK HIS ASS. Also, along with his Headmaster units and the fact that he's completely PSYCHOTIC in an immature forum troll sorta way, he's one of the ONLY TWO human villains that pose a significant threat to the Autobots equal to the Decepticons even.

To be honest, G1 I believe had the occasional bad human super-villain idea like that Dr. Wily look-alike. (I forget his name right now) Frankly, human super-villains give the Autobots something other than Decepticons to fight so I like the idea. It's just too bad said idea is implemented badly with villains like Angry Archer and Professor Princess. So far Meltdown seems to be the only exception to this.

No it's not just them sharing a voice actor. Control Freak was just as guilty of the l33tspeak gimmick as well. Only his use of it wasn't as annoying or frequent. Most likely because unlike Headmaster, Control Freak focuses his nerdiness on the TV theme like his name states.

Hmmm, I like the human villains. Yeah, they ARE lame, but amusing. They're there mostly to keep the Decepticons from becoming an everyday thing. I tend to find annoying characters in continuums that I like for their annoyance, characters that I "love to hate". In TFA, I think Sentinel Prime would fill that role out. But there's something about Headmaster that makes me find nothing fun about his annoyance. Technically I should love a representative of a subculture that I don't like getting beaten up, but no. Admittedly, I've never liked the Headmaster concept at all in any Transformers story.
