  • 4 people didn't think Jenny tasted sweet.

  • pass me the lsd

  • make me nostalgic, that was the years of my puberty, girls, flirting, that is great memory song for me.......

  • Girls named Jenny are ALWAYS sweet

  • Comment removed

  • @KCcrew this would also make sense of the line 'there is no lead'.

  • Must be lip singing of their great song despite all the instruments. The fellow with round sunglasses is missing

  • John Entwistle on keyboards? hahahah

  • It's actually, "A little Jivin' on a Saturday night"

  • C L A S S I C

  • I loved the late ,and early eightie's!!

  • How can anyone not like this song? One of the top classics ever. You got to hand it to the drummer to keep this fast paced beat throughout the entire song. Try it yourself...not easy to do..

  • She's got legs up to he neck ( R. Stewart ).

  • A little JIVING on a Saturday night! :)

  • 160 mph in my customized '66 Pontiac Beaumont with this smoking through my 800 watt car system while racing my buddy in his 6.6Litre FiretTurd is still one of my all-time favourite memories. By the way, I sucked him through my carburetor and shit him out the exhaust...

  • my dad showed me this song, he said he and his buddy would drive down queens listening to this in his lime green 69 gto hah

  • I <3 Sniff'n the Tears! I have this on cd! =)

  • I was learning to drive when this song hit the airwaves. I remember being in a Camaro with a blonde and we both liked it. Actually, I still dig the song---that's why I'm looking it up on YouTube!

  • I loved this song . Brings back memories of island hopping in Greece in the late 70's when this was played in every bar . Ah those were the days of being young , single and carefree . I have'nt been back to the islands of Paros , Ios , Naxos , Santorini since then but one day I will return . Get the Ouzo ready .

  • Sensational single . These guys should be proud if they produced nothing else in their lives. Production fantastic too - lots of thangs going on and melodies/counter melodies.

  • In the lyrics where is says "I don't know the way you came alive" can't be right even though it says that at several lyrics sites. It sounds much more to me like "She had another way of looking at life". Awesome tune anyway, I had to buy the remastered cd tonight.

  • @GrumpyMadman I reckon you're right. I think that verse goes "Jenny was sweet, she'd always smile for the people she'd meet. On trouble and strife, she had another way of looking at life". Great one for the songbook, only 3 chords Bm A (G).

  • @GrumpyMadman Your right. And the 2nd verse it says: "show a smile for the people she meet" should be " She always smiled for the people she'd meet". I can tell by your comment, that you went looking for the correct lyrics. Whats funny is I did too, but couldn't find them, so I replayed that section over (and over) but still couldn't get that first part. Thank you by the way. I knew it was wrong and it was driving me nuts. I'm glad I'm not the only one to bother with it:)

  • @GrumpyMadman I just read the other reply you recieved on this. The one line was: "On trouble and strife" not "I'm trouble, lets drive". I knew that entire 2nd verse was wrong. Most of it made no sense. I did some reading on this band and Paul Roberts, the lead singer, said it isn't about driving but about the conflicting thoughts and emotions that follow a break up. Makes sense when you have the correct lyrics. I never knew the name of the band. Got a chuckle when I found out.

  • first heard it at 6 years old, unique song, once you hear it, it stays with you forever!

does this group still play/tour ?

  • i was dating a mailman back in these days, and living in davenport iowa!!! ahhhh, those were the days.....young and beautiful....now i'm old and more beautiful!!! uh huh!!!!

  • Immortalized in the movie, "Boogie Nights"

  • I remember earing this record this record in 1979, I was 13 great memories

  • God, this song reminds me of dating a guy from Dallas, he flew me down for a weekend, it was so hot and windy, at night it would cool off a bit, he had a red 'vette and we're dancing at this club, Mother Blue's, we danced, drank, then we got in his "little red corvette" and this came on the radio. We took the freeway 'n drove so fast felt like we were flying. I took him home 'n gave him a nite he would never forget. When I hear this it's a hot summer nite 'n I'm in a red vette with my lover.

  • @agent458 Lucky guy!

  • Thumbs up if you knew & loved this song BEFORE Boogie Nights.

  • @themitch1966 WELL before boogie nights, I was 15 when this came out in the hot summer of '79, one of my best summers ever and it was my favorite tune that whole time and probably the best single in that time frame. Funny about the Boogie Nights thing. The first time I saw it and all these great songs were being played in it, I said to the girl I was with "They gotta put Drivers Seat in here somewhere" and 5 minutes later, damned if they didn't! Great movie and the song made my night!

  • @cudaj2 That is such a cool story!! Great memory. I was 12 and our local FM played this all the time.Great song.

  • @themitch1966 Yeah and totally true to! I said that to my date 5 minutes before the song came on at the scene where the new, young pornstars were getting introduced at Jack's New Years Eve party if I remember the scene correctly. Blew my mind!

  • @cudaj2 Wild man. Isn't stuff like that just trippy?

  • @themitch1966 Absolutely! Wish it happened more often!

  • This song always makes me wanna drive, and drive fast.......

  • Great Story 365degrees, everytime I heard this song I started Driving FASTER What memories!!!!!

  • Best song of all time!

  • Damn! This is such a Hot record after more than 30 years. Gotta put this on & bone a bad bitch ta this.

  • 365 just like me are you my brother? I loose my GF , my true and lonely love. That song make me cry to day even I AM 62!!

  • This reminds me of a time that there was this party and some guy was mad because he was having an affair, so he killed her and then committed suicide. And this other dude try to hit on this one dude and he got all embarrassed.

  • @webs78 Hahaha!! i remember that party! New Years...porn stars & coke. good times. "d'you like my car Dirk? d'you like it? cuz if you dont i mean i can take it back..."

  • real one hit wonder....shame

  • Wow, can't believe I've never really heard (or recognized) this tune until today. I dunno if its just me, but the lead singer sounds a lot like Al Stewart, and in that context the band sounds like a heavier arrangement of his.

  • i sob cause i remember; it's painful most painful to remember; this is awesome

  • ABSOLUTE Classic!!!

  • One person doesnt drive, rides a bike instead.............

  • excellent song for drive a car

  • perhaps the best one hit wonder ever!!

  • That's so sweet, I'm glad we still have those kinds of stories to tell...when love meant something...

  • it's Awsome anyone got tabs for guitar :D

  • should have been huge, it was in America

  • What an excellent song, love it.

  • Love this song, always thought Supertramp sung it, because of the keyboard and also the vocals sound like the song Goodbye Stranger. Yeah, and I used to think that Bob Seger was a black male singing Night Moves too, lol.

  • ok, this is THE BEST series of comments I have ever encountered on youtube....interesting! thanks!

  • great!

  • the bass guitarist is my maths teacher

  • 2.43 who is that poking his head round screen

  • lol at the bass player he's a shitty teacher at my school now

  • @Billyman182 Have any recent school pics of him? Curious as to what he looks like now.

  • @gason67 he looks pretty much the same but older and with grey hair

if i find a picture i'll send it to you

  • @Billyman182 Where is that????

  • @Joejam2845 a town in the east of england

  • great story 365.

  • One of my all-time favorite songs. Absolutely brilliant.

  • Sniff n' the Seat !!

  • I'm sorry guys, you're not up to it.... try again..... FUCK X-FACTOR . There must be someone who can come up a brilliant gem like this and save us from the karaoke shit being pushed into our faces

  • @MartiW Wow, I couldn't have said it any better! I'm shocked at all the unbelievable, total and utter horseshit on here! In my next life, I'm going to get licensing rights to every song ever recorded, every music video, live and tv performance ever filmed, hell if they sang on a puppet show, I'd get that too! Then I'd remaster it all to perfection and sell it to these idiots for a decent upload! Didnt mean to rant, but it's old already! All day with this crap. If ya can't do it well, don't.

  • For those of you who say great music was only made in the past and everything today is rubbish - I have one word for you: DISCO. This proves that plenty of rubbish was made in the past as well. People in the late 70s would have been saying the exact same thing about the current music, as people today are. That said, this is a great song and surprisingly one of the few non-disco songs of the era??

  • @Davez621 Man, today's music makes me miss Disco! I never thought that could happen, but it has.

  • @Davez621

disco was decent music and if you lived through the late 1970s you'd know everyone was grossed out by the black fat albert goon that appeared in one of these videos who was a freak like the lenny kravWICZ mullatoe trying but failing to be a rocker.

disco was still run by whites but rap and hip hop and most white acts now are all run by blacks and that's why they suck swine shit.

  • Killer song...

  • I've liked this song for years, never saw the band until now. Such a good song, great to blast while driving!!

  • Hey Easy Eddie ,Lighten up.

  • and I'd like to hear the rest of this love story/song...what happended? I have sex stories too, not of love like you but maybe both....ahhh.... the seventies!..............let me know......

  • Few songs take me back to the late '70s like this song......

  • From the movie soundtrack "Boogie nights". Brings back memories..

  • In 1979 I was broke up with my GF. I was so in love with her. I walked around like a zombie, I was so heartbroken. I was in my 71 cutlass "442" dropping off something at the cleaners. A song came on the radio so I thought I would take a ride and listen to it.After it ended this song came on so I decided to ride further. I stopped at a 7-11.Coming out I look up and there she is leaning on my car. We hugged and cried together-seemed like 4-ever.To this day this song reminds me of that fateful day

  • @365degrees For some reason your stories are really interesting.

  • @Melstorm2009 I have a million and one stories--lol--

Lived in Vegas most of my adult life and then Florida across the street from beach and the Gulf Coast of Mexico also dealt dice on an Indian reservation in Wisconsin. Many many stories.

  • @365degrees You might want to consider getting your stories published. One word of advice; if you do decide to write, look for a good agent before you submit anything. Don't try to work without an agent. Just a thought.

  • @1958boomergirl I agree your stories are just so interesting but strangely enough I cannot properly explain why.

  • @1958boomergirl I appreciate your advice. You are not the first to tell me I should write. To be honest, the stories I have to tell are really interesting and some quite funny and even some sad ones but what holds me back is I am not a celebrity who people would just wait for the book to come out. It would take some very good marketing and that cost. I do write for my own personal memories and enjoy both writing and telling stories. I'll give it some thought, thanks.

  • @365degrees And...?

  • @365degrees wow, your story struck deep my friend, drench that memory in nostalgia and I can't even imagine it's strength. Love and time are such beautiful cruelty.

  • @BodomBeachKiller In 1986 I returned to my hometown after being gone for six years. I met a girl at a club there. We ended up marrying. Divorced soon after I returned to Vegas. 1999 after living/working in a few other places with Florida the last, I returned to my hometown and met a girl at that same club, different name and owner. So in the last 25 years out of all the places I been there were 2 women I fell for and both were at the same club. Club burned in 2004, like my love life..lol

  • @365degrees

Good story man, you know this is actually a love song...

  • @365degrees You should upload videos of you telling you stories on here.

  • @Melstorm2009 Will think about it....you will be the first to know. I promise.

  • @365degrees Wow, awesome story, thanks for sharing. I have some great memories when this song came out also. It brings me back to that time in my life as a 16 year going through some major life changes and great times and great friends.

  • @365degrees Man, that's one of the coolest things I've ever read.

  • @mackorourke All my friends thought so too. She was hot as July too. We were the balls for 5 years....but you know how life changes...thanks man. Peace and Love

  • @365degrees Bless your heart!! Been there!!

  • @FrevrYng07 32 years. This song can still bring me to that day. She was a soul mate and I went on to have 2 more. I call them soul mates for a reason. They enter for a reason. When you are with a soul mate you know cause of these types of events. I never was one to jump from one to another, there has to be that look in her eye. I have many touching events that prove my theory true. I'm single at the moment but LOVE will find her way to my heart again-always does.5 years now. Takes time

  • @365degrees Then what?Did you marry her or what?

  • @365degrees Good to hear it turned out gr8 for you. Same thing happened to me but she never leaned on my car!! infact never saw her again in over 30yrs.

  • @365degrees

Great post! The way songs can take us back to events from the past is amazing. Thanx for sharing your story.
