@sebitas Pat is painting over pencil in this demo, yes, it's totally fine to paint over it with watercolor! It's very common in watercolor to paint directly over a drawing, and the pencil won't run or smudge.

I'm starting to learn traditional media after doing nothing but digital work for four or five years and making no progress...

Real media are much more visually interesting and exciting because you have so little control compared to photoshop.

So videos like this are a big help.
