I did something similar to this as an experiment. My mother really hates metal, but loves piano. So I took a Dark Tranquillity Guitar Pro tablature and flipped the instruments to cellos and pianos.

Shifts the perspective on metal a little when it gets presented without the screams and detuned guitars.

Brilliant playing, I wish I could play that well... but guitar is my main instrument.

That was a spectacular arrangement though. I'm floored.

I agree with you totally.. unfortunately, other metal fans might argue that this is not even metal anymore... for example, as i lay dying, trivium are usually called metalcore.. and iron maiden and judas priest are real metal...
