Hi and thanks for the good clear sounding review. I bought these today and was blew away by the sound.I have a little tip for anyone who has noticed that the tips provided may not have a tight enough seal which can make the bass a little weak.
I had a pair of comply foam tips and they fitted over the plastic bit that comes from the headphone where the sound comes out, they have made them sound much much better!!
do you know if the warranty covers wire damage because im replacing headphones every 4months and i figure like you i'll buy some high-end headphones for the warranty more then anything to save money in my case but if it doesnt cover wire damage then their no good to me (btw i had these headphones before but when they got damaged from the wire i just threw them away at the time i didnt know headphones came with warranty's)
Yeah, they were -- around $100. But the Sennheisers were about $60, and I ripped those up pretty quickly. My thought was that I could save money if the Bose would survive a couple years. We'll see what happens with these replacements, but at least I have another 1-year warranty if they don't.
I'm considering buying a pair, but I don't like the black/white wire.

to avoid wire fraying you need to put the headphones around your neck never in your pocket

Perhaps you're thinking of the Bose Around-Ear Headphones or the On-Ear Headphones?
