Nobody paid for my education but my parents and myself. "At risk" kids have been shuffled up through the school system whether they can read at their grade level or not. A news report from a Charlotte, NC TV station that told of a program that allows "at risk" students to study college courses during their last 2 years of high school, WITH TUTORING AND TRANSPORTATION, so when they graduate from high school, they have an A.D. Not fair. Playing to the lowest common denominator will hurt us all.

Huckabee beat the Clinton Machine when he ran for Governer of Arkansas. In a state that was more than 80% Dem he won and also with 48% of the black vote (which I am, by the way). Nobody paid for my education but my parents and myself. "At risk" kids have been shuffled up through the school system whether they can read at their grade level or not. A news report from a Charlotte, NC TV station that told of a program that allows "at risk" students to study college courses during their last 2 years of high school, WITH TUTORING AND TRANSPORTATION, so when they graduate from high school, they have an A.D. Not fair. Playing to the lowest common denominator will hurt us all.

Farm subsidies, black-on-black crime, cutting spending and reforming entitlement programs, etc. I believe the other candidates said, "Mitt is right" more times than they did of anyone else on stage.

If we're going to have a socialist system, we should try to be fair about it. I think getting rid of Affirmative Action and offering scholarships based solely on merit and on nothing else would be the best way to go as we phase it out. This is America - we should treat everyone equally.
(Don't get me wrong; Huckabee is the anti-Paul in every respect and should be kept far away from the white house, but I think this is a fine solution for a local government)
