Listen to all these silly kids here arguing about whether Kurt Cobain is better than Dave Grohl at guitar... There are 15 year olds out there who can play things that neither one of those guys ever could. Being a great player doesn't always have to do with technical skill. Kurt made amazing sounds come out of his guitar, and used them to create moods and excitement. Dave Grohl wrote incredible pop songs and sang them with substance and style. Why are you lame kids comparing apples to oranges?

For me it's the opposite. I used to be pretty good at Guitar Hero (up to Hard) and as soon as I started playing real bass guitar a few years ago I started to suck at Guitar Hero. IDK why Dx. It just felt weird I guess.

I would have thought that this depends on the contract. There have been many high profile cases of major artists trying to sue record companies over the rights to their song.

Well, it does depend on the contract. But I think in most cases, the artists own most of the rights. Look at Led Zeppelin. None of their songs have ever made it to Rockband or Guitar Hero. Mostly do to the fact that Jimmy Paige and Robert Plant possess the rights to the all the songs.

Actually the Artist tells the record company, then the record company tells the game maker, the artist has to say yes in order for to make on the game, but usually they say yes because having a song on a game is a form of advertisement. But back to the point its up to the Artist and don't try to fight back on this one because I am a artist and one my songs are on Guitar Hero 5

Aw, I don't see anything wrong with Guitar Hero. It's another great way for people to have fun.

Just like anything else, you have those rabid fans that think being good at the game makes them good at the instruments, but I just ignore it and have a good time with my friends or just rockin' solo.

I mean there's no doubt that playing a real instrument's way more fun - I'd know from piano, guitar, and drum experience - but what's wrong with having fun? That's what Guitar Hero's meant to be.
