@JTC31290 I wasn't a fan of the sexy boy gimmick - at least when he was a face. As a heel it was good because he was cocky but a coward. His face character with this gimmick was his worst of his singles career. Thank goodness he did the DX thing with Hunter and became a degenarate

That's what women liked in the 90's. A long haired guy dancing around and putting on a show. It was considered "sexy", and the kids just looked up to him for some odd reason. Today, you would be considered gay if you did that crap HAHA!

Austin was lucky to get to face the Main Eventer HBK in this match because Austin was just an upper mid card guy during this time and he was supposed to fight Brian Pillman while HBK faced Bret Hart but Bret's knee was injured so WWE changed it to HBK vs Austin which was a Double DQ. Normally HBK would beat Austin like he did twice in 96, but they were really building up Austin during this time and to get a Double DQ with the great HBK truly helped Austin build himself up some more.

According to Bret Hart in his book. This was the same night HBK and Hart had gotten into a backstage fight over the "sunny days" comment and Michaels had a chunk of his hair pulled out. Originally HBK was supposed to wrestle Hart but Bret blew out his knee..
