  • No need for stereotyping, but I absolutely love crumpets. Don't diss.

  • I used to like crumpets as a kid...stick it in the toaster and put on butter and jam..nice. now i'm not so keen. tea on the other hand, i'm guilty, i drink at least 4/5 cups a day

  • the two top comments are retarded

  • Beth Cordingly stars in this

  • Zombies might have started off being slow and limpy, but isn't running more logical? They've still got all of the basic bodily functions a human has and they still have a brain to control it. I believe both fast and slow zombies can exist at the same time.

  • @xXxSmufflesxXx Faster onces could be newer ones like fresh bodies slower ones more rotten bodies.

  • @Roshua666 You crazy it makes challenging and scarier running from a fucking zombie that it will never give up because is hungry,as for those that doesn't run are stupid because if you get eaten by those you seriously suck,I mean he is really slow and you are very stupid for getting bit

  • fucking americans being assholes to brits... for god sakes im american and i can't stand it. British people are awesome. lol :D

  • urgh, i agree with simon pegg, itd be loads better if the zombies didnt run.

  • Now that I think about it...why don't they just ditch the rest of them and drive elsewhere? :S

  • Comment removed

  • Why are there two episode 2s?

  • i liked the ending in the final

    episode, just goes to show

    not everything ends happily ever

    after.

  • to be honest, i dont think it would have been right if they had survived, you just cant really see a few people surviving a global plague

  • true. i liked it.

  • exactly why its good.

i thought it was gonna be shit when i saw it advertised cus of it bein zombies i thought they'll end up savin the fuckin world :S but its really good because its not a happpy ending.

see all these american horror films and shiz have happy endings which are boring cus you just think whats the point in watchin them when your gonna no the endin but LOADS of british horror films have bad endings, shows how realistic we are like on the film the children everyone basically dies

  • American films always have good endings? What are you smoking? Have you seen the Dawn of The Dead remake?

  • @iLiveToDrive dawn of the dead is shit compared to shaun of the dead

oh & the if u dont like it u can f off was a joke fom if u have seen bo selecta ! u will no so i didn't mean nothing bad by it

  • @Brianuk85 I love tea and crumpets.

  • we r at least not fat have u seen americas fatty why am i not suprised

  • I'm American. I hate fast food. My diet consists of turkey, chicken, and fish, along with a variety of complex carbohydrates including whole wheat breads, fruits, and vegetables. It's been about 5 months since I've had a hamburger. I'm 6'1', 135 pounds, with approximately 10% body fat. Stereotypes are usually false. Let's not use them, okay? =)

  • Can I just say that we don't care about your diet, were just backing up our stereotypical side towards Americans since this prick decided us English run after tea and crumpets, load of bollocks.

  • whats Bullocks?

  • @BeastlybrosStudios it's "Bollocks" and it means balls

  • You seem like a nice American (which is a rarity on youtube, I have to say), and you also refrain from the stereotypical insult of "LOL BAD TEETH TEA AND CRUMPETS" (which makes you more rare) yet still you get insulted, which pisses me off, just don't judge the whole britain off of these cunts, okay? You can tell they're idiotic anyway, they're most likely chavs who have a tendency to randomly stab people for looking at them funny, ignore them.

  • i no fat people over here would become annorexic if they moved to america ;|

  • You make it sound as if zombies are real.

Anyway's, I'd rather be known for the stereotypical English tea thing than bombarding the fast food restaurant for burgers.

  • Agreed

  • I think it started with food poisoning xD

    Patrick May Be Infected Too,

He Has Diorriah In A Bin

    Classy! :D

  • That lady with the rifle (when he was fixing her van after it stalled) I think she acted in Resident evil. The first and only good one, with Milla Jovovich. She got her head cut off with that security laser beam. I think it's her.

  • She also played Pat Kerrigan in ITV's Bad Girls.

  • loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • to the person who said zombies dont run. How do you know just because they didn in the old george films doesnt mean thats how zombies act its just a few films afterwards didnt do much different till 28 days later then the remake of dawn of the dead also think they might be runing in georges new film island of the dead

  • 28 days later is not a real zombie movie thats human with a virus that make them full adrenalin and make them angry to kill

  • On the description, who's Warren?

    "GET IN THE VAN, MARKY!"

LOL xD like he's gonna do something else.

    loved dead set!

  • love this show.

  • it by the zombie bitting the people and then they turn into zombies... much like sean of the dead.

  • wat the heck x]] lol

  • i only got to watch the last episode. What happens? how did a virus break out and get everyone? confused...please...someone help me out. p.s; is there anywere i can watch this properly?

  • like all zombie movies you never really know why it starts happening, always left to imagine what could have caused it ;)

  • @ Elensar.

Not always the case, look at RE. You know how that started by the Umbrella Corp ;)

  • Thats very true XD

  • i dont really think a zombie disease would spread that fast tbh

    tell me your thoughts

  • hmmm, i think initially yes

but once it was on the news everyone would be in the loft with supplies.

But then again, if it happened it britain china or usa or the like, theyve already proved with the bird flu that they can contain it

  • it would be good to be on a rooftop with a barett .50 cal picking them off with loads n loads of food n ammunition

  • Hmmm spose tht would be fun. could always top yourself when u have 1 bullet left,

the yanks would be alright, they all have firearms.

  • the zombies from shaun of the dead got lose and escaped and invaded big brother

  • if that was me i would wanna b a zombie then i wouldnt have 2 escape and that i would just run after epople and wouldnt have 2 worry

    and look scary ...

  • yh but u wouldnt be u will ya?

  • havhahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhaahahhahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahahahahahaha

  • i loved this series funny, yet scary !!!!!! hope they make another one like this!!!

  • my fav bit is wen the producer gets riped up eat meh!!!!!

  • lol he just sat there and took it screamin "eat it its full of shit anyway!"

  • 0_0 i will never sleep well again

  • i would love 2 be a fucking zombie xtra in a zombie film... i would b a madman nutter zombie ! woOt

  • ZOMBIES DONT RUN!

  • dude they hav 2 b able 2 run if u want n e solid suspense wot so eva ! although i dare say i can understand tha fact that becoming a zombie would probably more than likely attack your basic motor functions..

  • its true, modern audiences dont scare as easily as they did when the old george remero zombie films came out, today you need a more fast paced suspense, ie running zombies, physically impossible for them to run, although the chances of the dead rising aint good either so what am i to say.

  • my fav bit of dead set was at the end when the gates are opened and the zombies rip the guy apart and hes saying like fuck u and shit :L:L:L:L

  • ya :)

  • This is so cool

  • The movie was very shocking. Even scenes like this makes your heart beat faster. how much more if warren didnt make it to the van on time.

  • I missed dead set as i was on holiday. I tried to watch it on the catch up thing but it wouldn't work. Is there any other way to watch it?

  • Keep on checking E4 it might come round again. Or u can buy in on dvd from HMV places like that.

  • Who actually cares if it's similar to 28 days later? Just because there was a film about zombies does that mean any other film or series involving zombies is copying it? I thought this was fucking brilliant, it beats ther rest of the bollocks on TV at the moment anyway.

  • not at all, quite the opposite actually, this hold its own against any good zombie flick, problem is,and you might agree with me,is that there isnt enough programs like this on tv.

  • was that a episode?

  • yeuu5

  • dan o bannon started the idea of fast zombies and im glad there were guys who followed up on the idea(boyle, snider and brooker)personally i think 21st century zombies rock.

  • But realy id perfer the old ones chacing me not as fast and easyer to get away from...The best place you can go is the attic if they can't climb if you are in your house you grab knifes eney thing that can kill them! And food...If one is behind your car you go back and run the FKERS over!!!

  • chyper40 i agree 100% about sprinting zombies in the Return series were badass and they were funny as fuck. 28 days and weeks and dawn and Day remake evolved them into something much more terrifying. Cant see slow zombies makin a come back unless Romero pulls another one out the bag.

  • hahaha yeah the first "return" was fecking priceless, loved the "midget" zombie, lmao.a few things that might interest you triniloz24,romero is making a follow up to "diary" it will be set on an island, production began last month, also american zombie series "lifeless"out soon(check out the clip on youtube)seems our slow zombies are stubbornly refusing to go away.

  • also zac snider has stated he will follow up dawn of the dead(with new survivors).might take a few years before we see that one though.

  • lol yeah that midget zombie was joke as fuck, it was a amputee i think but it didnt stop him moving as fast as the rest!. To be honest i was a bit disappointed in Diary, apart from the deaf Mormon which was class. Nice one mate ill check out those sequels. U heard about the film adaptation of World War Z? still in production but sounds good.

  • send more cops......hahaha,and ernie the nazi mortician, what more can i say.diary had its moments, but i agree it could have been much better.yeah wwz definetly 1 to look out for,but i havent heard anything lately, good to know its still in production though.hmmmm perhaps they could do "black gas",not sure if your familiar with this one,its a graphic novel by warren ellis, great story and also a new theory to how zombies come to be,check it out.

  • bravo to the guys and gals who made this program possible, absolutly fantastic show,i know the gospil according to romero and have been a life long fan,but i really like the idea of running zombies.tbh i think it adds more to the genre, rather than taking away from it.

  • yee u spit on um girl:P

  • if you whna to know how to kill a zombie. is to hit them in the head

  • well it aint like there will ever be any zombies, but just in case, thanks for the tip :p

  • out of all the movies of zombies in it i haven't one run it was a bit wierd 4 me but really gd programme loved it!

  • OK cakey u to r obviously passionate as well, but u shouldnt take shit to seriously on here. I like ur self are giving my opinion on dead set. The reason my grammar and spelling may not be up to scratch is because theres a max 500 word count (with spaces) which means I need 2 cut corners sometimes. It doesnt take a genius to work out what I mean, after all were not on countdown. 2 b honest I cant even c where u entered this little debate as my original gripe was with horrorvillepictures.

  • patrik at end is so stupid, assif you would say cumon eat this part have some of this... you would be screaming in pain.

  • yeah but i suppose if there really were zombies you would go a bit mad.

  • At the end when that woman was in the diary room she had an axe and that she probably could of cut through the ceiling and made her way out? but instead just opens the door gets killed?

  • well what would you do? There was no one left in the world but you and at every corner was a zombie, would you really live on? Personally i would kill myself with an axe!

  • i wish the ending didnt see them all die but i think there is is a tiny bit of humanity between the space and kelly zombies as they stare at each other through the cameras

  • da ending was well depressing every 1 dies i thought they wud survive

  • lol you can imagine patrick eating it and giving it to them saying have this you dozy shit and all this lol

  • I like the ending, Patrick was awesome all the way through the series, He stole the show as a character and had the best lines.... Whats the two magic words? "Fuck off" lol :)

  • the ending is baaadddddd. Pretty funny tho, Patrick dies, and while hes being bitten and ripped in half hes shouting 'fucking eat me' lol. They all die and turn into zombies...

  • i just watched the final episode, i wont give things away for the people who havent seen it but the action that the women who works for big brother takes at the end it STUPID! and lol...GOLUM! you will know what it mean :P

  • lol i wrote a similar piece of writing for my media A-level. But anyway, thought dead set was a very good zombie horror. It wasn't a rip off of 28 days/weeks later, the "zombies" in dead set where just as violent as 28 days/weeks but no where near as clever, also actually eating flesh rather than just spreading. I liked the fact that the "infected" actually killed some people and they didn't arise because they where eaten beyond repair :P

  • The trade mark slow walk of the zombie comes from Haitian folklore as in the earliest zombie films like White zombie 1932 where zombies usually black slaves were raised from the dead under the spell of voodoo magic and made to work monotonously in sugar cane plantations.

  • The zombie is the only onscreen monster that captures the zeitgeist of society, in particular the fears or worries of the time. The earliest films (1932 onwards) were based around voodoo and the fear of unknown foreign lands in the Caribbean, films of the 1940s and 50s were based on mind control, government paranoia and fears of invasion,

  • The 1960s was civil unrest and the Vietnam war, The 70s and 80s were again about paranoia this time the cold war and the fear of nuclear attack from Russia, zombie films after the millennium and in particular post 9/11 are all based round acts of terrorism, unseen threats and viral infections.

  • I thought it was funny how the creator said "We didn't want people to think we were copying Shaun of the Dead".

Well no... because you're clearly copying 28 Days Later :p

    Still great series though.

And yes, running zombies in daylight: much scarier. And to me a better social commentary in the current climate of street violence and gangs. It conveys how the yob culture is: prevalent any time, anywhere; misunderstood; insipid; and is growing faster than ever.

    Beat that HorrorVillePictures :)

  • Dead set captures our recent fears and combines them with the idea of Britain as a nanny state obsessed with reality TV. The good thing about this show is it includes zombies (always worth a watch) is fast paced, doesnt take its self seriously.

  • We don't need to know why we enjoy it, you pretentious idiot.

And Invasion of the Body Snatchers was about aliens... if you're going to get annoyingly technical.

  • Il say it again, some people like to read past the face value of films, u may not be 1 of them. Invasion of the body snatchers were created by aliens thats true, but it has all of the attributes of a zombie film, apocalyptic scenario, last few human survivors, invasion of the masses. They may not have bitten ppl that was evolved by Romero in 1968 and NOLD. The cause of zombies changes with every film. There have been many other zombie films which have been caused by aliens eg Quatermass 2 (1957)

  • I actually watch and analyse films, and write my own screenplays, so don't accuse me of being ignorant.

Look mate, you're obviously passionate about this genre, and I understand that. But there's no need to lecture people. (Or paraphrase what I said and present it as you're own idea, which is what you did to one of my comments.)

There's no need to lecture people, because as you correctly said, Dead Set doesn't take itself too seriously; this series probably SHOULD be taken at face value.

  • i abosloutley pooed my pants in the first episode i thought davine was amazing :L Running zombies i find are more scary and real to midless thick zombies...

  • arekkusu64, dude or dudette i personally enjoy the mindless zombies and yes i do find them scary as i said before they feel more real to me, so zombie movies to me are about characters, the peeps trying to live.

i can see what cool about running zombies and yes they are scary when they are running, so i dont want to take that away, but i still like the slow zombies because to me they are far more hard hitting, and a better commentary on the social world.

  • Look HorrorVillePictures, running Zombies are so much better than the "traditional" zombies, If you were to put yourself in a situation where zombies are taking over the world, would you be more scared with slow walking zombies or running zombies? Anyone played resident evil on the gamecube? What's scarier normal zombies or crimson head zombies?

  • having read the comments, i should have said that i personally feel like running zombies is not good and do perfer the mindless zombies because to me they feel more real.

  • lalamiyachuu have you ever seen George A. Romero NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, DAWN OF THE DEAD AND DAY OF THE DEAD, if you have then you would no how great the zombeis were, and they werent running

  • well, HorrorVillePicture, if they didn't run then this program would be boring as fuck.

if they just shuffled about, then it would be ridiculous.

  • Zombies have been around for a long time now. There was a film in the 1950s, i think, that had zombies in but they didn't eat flesh, they just walked/shuffled about a bit.

I like Dead Set. Why can't we have fast Zombies? We can't keep copying Mr Romero's zombies all the time. It's good that something different has been done and THIS IS NOT AN INSULT TO THE HORROR GENRE!!!

  • 3970 Allakad one truth dancing all the way from the bottom of heaven to the top where we all sit on rocks of gold, now and forever more at ubroadcast, all are invited to join the club, the God and you club, and dance with Allakad all the way to the top, and we do not stop until we get there to start alive not dead isn't a corpse cold, Allakad in a split second can turn apples into gold, and then back into apples again.

  • o RUNNING ZOMBIES how stupid is that, they dead and come to live, and yet they can still run, how bloody crap. i hate running zombies. overall the program sucks and goes against the genre, and to me it feels like they insulted the horror genre, but i would say it did have moments to shine and i still watched it because its the only thing on tele which has somehting to do with the horror genre

  • Sorry to pee on your fire but running zombies have been around since the return of the living dead series (1985 onwards), all of which became cult films. Recent films such as 28 days/weeks and the remake of dawn of the dead have evolved zombies into something more interesting and exciting to watch on screen. Dead set has not gone against the genre but has only broken away from the concept of a zombie made famous by Romero.

  • LONG before 1985 mate. Try the 50s. "Last Man on Earth" / "I Am Legend".

  • Technically they were vampires as they cannot stand sunlight, fear mirrors, and are repelled by garlic and didnt. Films like Last man is where the definition of zombie gets confusing, if were talking earliest running zombies then Invasion of the body snatchers can be counted as the first is the first. The running zombies out of 28 days are not technically zombies (more infected with rage as quoted in the film) as they do not die before changing and do not bite or consume their victims.

  • Its only until 28 days later that the first of these monsters bites their victim (after it breaks into the boarded up farm house) in the first couple of scenes. I did a 13,000 word dissertation for my degree on 'The evolution of the onscreen zombie', and although prob the most enjoyable piece of work i wrote, i had a proper task of defining what is and what is not a zombie. I the end i didnt include either Invasion of the body snatchers or The last man on earth.

  • It's actually 28 WEEKS Later I assume you're talking about, with Robert Carlyle?

And you can't truly define what a zombie is, since it is fictitious. There are only interpretations....

  • I never said they were zombies mate: I'm fully aware that they were still alive.

And no offence, I'm sure your dissertation was interesting enough, but there's no fucking need to type it all out on this page.

Besides, since it was your own essay, can I assume that you made you own inferences and ideas? Because that makes it opinion, no fact.

Stop flaunting pointless knowledge on a mythical creature on youtube... no-one asked!

  • dear me cakey seems someone cant hold up a friendly debate without getting their nickers in a twist!. I stand corrected it was 28 weeks not days. and sayin that u cant define something thats fictitious is nonsense. the thing about zombies is their ever changing so their definition is always different which was my original point in my first post. sometimes its good to look past the face value of a film and read between the lines so to speak, try it sometime.

  • Oh, and using correct spelling and grammar in your argument would help your cause....

  • seeen the last 3 episodes, its rubbish, firstly the camera work sucked so much, the script was boring feels like its trying to be like 28 days later and the remade Dawn of the Dead. the effects were lame and the blood looked so fake.

  • stupid zombie cant run dere DEAD

  • Davina's a TRACKSTAR!... even though she didn't catch up to the van. lol

  • Im REALLY confused

Are they all SUPPOSED to be like 2 minutes long?

  • yes except for the 4 minute special on saturday

    no..

    you twat (y)

but dont worry, jesus love you

    pillock

  • Your actually a raging twat

For all I know they couldve been a set of shorts or webisodes. What was the point in being an utter dick about a reasonable question?

  • No these are just teaser clips so to speak, and since no one has uploaded the actual episodes to youtube yet, thats all we are gonna get. But however you can catch the series finale on e4 tonight at 10 oclock if you want to see the full thing. Peace

  • Lets be honest if the zombies shuffled about aimlessly as they did in the original dawn this programme wouldn't be worth a watch. I agree it has similarities to 28 days and weeks but thats chiefly because its a British production and the zombies run. If your gonna pick at the fact that their zombies and they return from the dead and run then you have to totally disregard zombies as a monster all together, as the idea of them returning to life and even walking is 'bloody crap' as you put it!

  • Why did you reply your comment to me, when alls i did was say about the length :P

its a cool show btw, fills some bordem time...

  • soz dude posted it on the wrong comment

  • HAHA Grayson died! What a poofter!

  • i love it eveytime they escape the zombies they flip them off or swear at them haha typical british!!! lol jj

  • ahh shit the zombies can run

  • i watched ep 1 it sucks

  • ur an idiot it got better

  • ep 1 still sucks u fag

in the end its just another gay zombie film

    so stfu u smelly nigger
