for desktop use i'd get Acer, out of the box colors were more natural

if you're hooking it up to xbox 360 i'd get Asus

they are pretty close but Asus had better speakers and more options to adjust picture

How do you know where the Asus was made?

I asked around and nobody knows who makes their panel

Acer is made in China, it looks like AUO

Out of the box Asus is much bluer in tone while the Acer has a orange or yellowish tint to it
