I think Kent doesn't have access to the internet where he is. If he did, he probably is too busy pushing off the shower buddies. Soap is his friend now. Also, the days of him having a decent loud fart are over. Only rushing air these days. Looks good on him.
So basically, you're simply putting down Kent Hovind without actually offering any counter arguments to his claims. Is your sarcasm supposed to be a refutation in and of itself? BTW, Kent Hovind has never claimed C-14 dating gives dates ranging up to "millions of years", if he did, it was slip of the tongue. He has clearly stated (and rightfully so) that carbon dating can only hypothetically give dates in the range of thousands of years (approx up to 50k years), not millions.
Hey - I'm no scientist - but Kent believes in a literal genesis - and a literal bible throughout. A miracle filled book of fairytales. He throws out a few innacurate carbon dated objects etc and makes it sound like its every other one thats wrong. These methods are very very consistant the vast majority of the time. Occasionally through bad proceedure or human error one comes out wrong and Kent uses that as "proof". He's either nuts or a con man who liked selling his video series to the gullible
Evolutionists believe that the first life form must have emerged from non-living matter. Life from non-life has never been observed, and in fact, experiments have been conducted to try to prove that abiogenesis is possible, but all have failed. But yet, evolutionists MUST believe that at one time this has happened, even though everything we observe today (and every experiment) has proven otherwise. So why do they believe this? Because there is no other choice unless you allow an outside force.
As for God - I'm not saying that you should deny a god if you feel that there is one - after all, who really knows? BUT believing in the literal account of genesis and the rest of the bible is utter madness. Its the 21st century - come on, use your critical scientific 21st century brain and get with the program.
Who really knows? You're right, I can't prove without a shadow of a doubt that there is a God. You talk about catching up with the 21st century. But, again, I have never seen life arise of non-life, and again, no one else has either. I have never seen a dog produce a non-dog. I have never seen a mutation produce new information in a genome. You call this "mental gymnastics" only because you don't know what else to say.
How ever life arose.. (Via a supreme being or spontaneously) you can bet it was'nt 6000 years ago in the fictional garden of eden with talking serpents and magic fruit trees.
Then why don't you tell me how it happened? You obviously "know" it didn't happen the way described in the book of Genesis, so how did it happen? If you don't know, then how do you absolutely know it didn't happen the way described in Genesis?
damn - whats wrong with you?? You sounding sillier with each post. Just because I dont know how to make a fairy cake doesnt mean I should assume that fairies made it. I reject genesis because my adult intelligence tells me that it is utter utter nonsense and for no other reason. I don't exactly know how everything came to be - but you can bet your ass it wasn't as your 2000 year old book says.
"my adult intelligence tells me that it is utter utter nonsense" Is this the same adult "intelligence" that leads you to accept that life comes from non-life and that dogs can produce non-dogs? Again, abiogenesis is a fairytale. No evidence suggests a dog will produce a non-dog, etc. I don't see why your so critical about the bible, and cannot see how silly evolution is.
Kent Hovind has a very 2 dimentional view of evolution. Even if a god put the intial spark into life then I still tend to accept that evolution did the rest. (Probably). These things are all debateable - except the fiction of the bible - It is clearly a book written by man and not a revelation from god. If I'm wrong - the bible god is not a character I have or ever could have any respect or love for. Damn - I apologise for re-igniting this thread - I'll shut up now. lol.
I see no point in continuing since you say that you really don't want to continue, and I hate being limited to 500 characters.
"If I'm wrong - the bible god is not a character I have or ever could have any respect or love for."
That says it all. This explains why you're so willing to over-look the flaws in evolution, but are so critical to the bible. You're essentially saying even if I could prove the bible is true, you still wouldn't believe it. So much for going where the evidence leads.
Let me put it another way, GOD IN THE BIBLE (especially old testament) IS AN EVIL VINDICTIVE PROUD NUTCASE. He is replusive in almost every way. SCIENCE KNOWS the earth is BILLIONS of years old so there is NO DEBATE on that - only in the imaginations and twisted psuedo science of the faithful. This is why Kent Hovind struggled so hard to get anyone to debate him - its like debating with someone about the tooth fairy. parting seas, magic trumpets, talking snakes and donkeys are for fiction lovers
If such a thing happened, it would be evidence AGAINST evolution as a scientific theory. Clearly you don't know the first thing about evolution. Can you even define it?
"I have never seen a mutation produce new information in a genome."
What do you mean by information? Do you even know what you're asking? New traits have been observed many times. Longer genomes, novel proteins... take your pick.
of course life from non-life has never been observed - as we have no clue about the circumstances that may have caused it or how to replicate them. Don't quote too much from hovind - remember hovind believes the bible is a science book. IT IS NOT! Creationists look silly when the say that. No doubt they will continue to say it though. You do not need the silly stories of the bible to believe in a god. I doubt there is one..but am open to the possibility given actual proof.
You say "of course life from non-life has never been observed"--if this is the case, then what basis do evolutionists have to accept abiogenesis? They don't--they just "know" it had to have happened that way simply because the only other plausible alternative is to invoke the supernatural. And, I dont' know where you get this idea that I am "quoting" Hovind. Believe it or not, I just happened to agree with a lot of what he says (not all).
I have no problem with the "possibility" of the supernatural. I doubt it - but I'm not discounting it completely. MY ARGUMENT is with this 6000 year old earth literal bible fairystory twaddle. The bible does have its uses - it makes an effective door-stop.
Since you have said you don't really want to continue, and I don't want to when I am limited like this, I'll end it here. Cheers, and hope there is no hard feelings.
I am no more "quoting" Hovind anymore than you are "quoting" Dawkins. And Hovind does not believe the Bible is a science text, he just believes (as do I) that where the Bible touches upon science, it is accurate. It gives us the big picture, but not all the details. For example, the Bible says animals will reproduce after their kind, and they do. When dog breeders breed dogs, believe it or not, they really do expect to get dogs... and they do. You are presenting straw men.
Science goes where the evidence takes it - it changes and is self correcting over time. Religion is rigid and cannot accomodate any science that contradicts what is within its dog-eared pages. Nothing personal but I cannot possibly continue a lengthy discussion with someone who for even one moment considers that the story of noahs ark etc is true etc, and believes all the wicked doctrines of the old testament were a good idea. You can have the last word - I'm outta here.
Science isn't the problem, evolution is. Evolutionist do not just go where the evidence leads. There is no evidence life comes from non-life, only the contrary, yet they believe it happened. There is no observable evidence that any animal can produce a fundamentally different kind of animal, but yet, they believe it happened. There is only examples specialization in animals (loss of genetic info), yet, they believe it happens. Evolution is the fairytale.
BTW, I don't like being limited to 500 characters. If you want to continue this discussion, then I would be willing to through private msg, because I find it frustrating to be limited when I have so much more to say. If you don't want to continue through private msg, then fair enough.
"BTW, I don't like being limited to 500 characters. If you want to continue this discussion, then I would be willing to through private msg, because I find it frustrating to be limited when I have so much more to say. If you don't want to continue through private msg, then fair enough."
I'm ready and willing to discuss evolution with you. I have the academic background to do so adequately.
"Evolutionists believe that the first life form must have emerged from non-living matter."
Not all properties of what we consider life spontaneously popped into existence. It's a gradual process, like evolution. A continuum of steps from simple probionts to self replicating cells that reproduce with inheritance. And even creationists believe that life came from non-life... Unless you think life has always existed. In which case you are a moron.
And I know what Kent believes. Again, to me believing in a literal Genesis is no more radical than evolutionists believing life could have originated from non-living matter. Also, radiometric dating techniques DO have their faults and there is a little more to their dating than "human input". As a chemist myself, I am pretty familiar with how carbon dating can (and does) give inaccurate dates.
You have a conflict of interests - like most literal bible believers, whenever anything conflicts with what your bronze age books says you do mental gymnastics and go through hell and highwater to find something to refute the scientific findings.
I haven't ever seen anything in science that conflicts with the bible. You seem to only resort to sarcasm and condescension when discussing this, why? You can't seem to rationally speak of this without trying to be at the same time, insulting.
lol, Kent Hovind (along with good 'ol Ken Ham) have provided me with much viewing merriment in recent times. They are the best unintentional comedians on the internet.
You'll notice I don't disable ratings or comments like many hovind supporters and most crazy-ass christian video uploaders do. You would think they were afraid that God wasnt really on their side or something, lol.
have you ever had one of your prayers answered?have you ever witnessed a miracle beyond what is chance or dictated by potential(like water turning to wine)?have you ever even considered any other view other than your own to provide an alternate perspective.or do u just judge based on the discretion that the bible provides?no u havent.
You advise me to 'watch the whole video', maybe you should have READ my comment in its entirety. Which you clearly did not do or you would have noticed I clearly supported the video and criticized Mr. Hovind.
My comment was neither tabbed under yours nor is it anywhere near yours.
i like how kent goes into detail about what he believes... not like this sarcastic video, which if taken literal is just saying. i dont believe u so, therefore your wrong.. and no i wont give any plausable explanation why your wong you just are... and now i'll make a personal attack towards you. because im uneducated and don't know of any other form of debating someone's belief. Hi, my name is kalsolarUK.. see how easy it is to critisize someone. wow im intelegent.
Yep, Staggering in fact. Crazy thing is, Kent Hovind has quite a high IQ but uses it to cobble together his brand of "scientific theory" which attempts to support the un-supportable. Sadly, the indoctrinated often fall for this nonsense.
I personally think Kent Hovind knows darn well that he's spouting bullshit but saw a rich vein of gold in all the credulous idiots in the bible belt. The man was worse than the religious because he was a fucking charlatan snake oil salesman.
ok about the tax evasion. Kent Hovind told the judge he will gladly pay his income taxes if the judge could show him written anywhere that he had to. No one is required to pay income taxes. You choose to give the government money. He decided to do something constitional by standed up for his rights and this government is keeping him quiet about it by putting him away. Say what will but get the facts straight and see what happens to you if you tell your government that income tax is unconstitonal
Let's face it, Kent Hovind was raking it in with his videos, in every debate or talk I've ever seen him in he promotes a video from his series about every 2 minutes. His clever "copy it and send it back" ploy was smart in that he knows most people will won't send it back - thus he makes a fortune for teaching utter nonsense to children and adults alike. He should have gone to Jail for that rather than the tax evasion.
Well watch TV evangelist and see how many times they try to sell you some kind of healing oil or cloth or beg you for your money at least he put his money where his mouth is and actually provided facts. That no one could disbute him on. All his money went to either Dinosaur World or to offer 500 dollars to debate him. Harvard Yale and Berkeley refused to debate him and he even offered them money for it. He only promoted his videos to show that he proved his point on another videoand to reiterate
Few people would debate him because no one worth their salt wanted to be seen taking him seriously. Its the old saying - "never argue with an idiot - they will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience". According to him the 98.8% of proper scientists are wrong..and he and his tiny percentage of fellow faith "scientists" were right. Scientists spend their lives seeking truth - Hovind spent his life trying to prove bible - real scientists don't operate that way.
It's hard to debate the truth. Considering ourselves to be wise we have become fools. You know scientists classify us homo-homo sapians now. Meaning wise-wise beings. Funny how that was predicted by the bible and were seeing now.
Lol, I'm assuming in your view kent is the only real scientist in the world and his ridiculous narrow minded, faith-led pseudo-facts make perfect sense. If you wanna talk facts I'm happy to do so..and I mean FACTS not bible-ballony.
I read it every day..every single day...and its not just ballony its frightening, barbaric, fairy story ballony - but entertaing ballony all the same. It wont cut much ice with me in an argument where facts are needed.
Which version do you read? ...And I read it every single day, too. Interesting.
I never expected it to. I think it's ridiculous that my fellow Christians expect it to.
The argument "it's true because it says it is" is fine for someone who believes it. But I fail to see the logic in using it on someone looking for solid facts. *shrugs *
King James version. And you're quite right, you'll find it hard to convince someone like me of anything in the bible unless some hard facts back it up.
Alright seriously, I'm sick of you assholes giving Kent shit. He was a good christian that has PROVEN creationism is far more likely than evolution.
Nah, just kiding. Hovind spent so much time making himself look like an ass in front of real scientist by preaching non-sense theories backed by debatable so-called facts. Kent Hovind is an asshole, who believed that the bible was somehow a science book. Funny, if he was preaching in jail christian fundamentalists would still listen to him.
Yeah, I was just messing around. Kent really is an asshole though. I'll start listening to him if he starts preaching the pros and cons of tax evasion.
lol, yes I intentionally made it to look like that until about half-way through when it becomes obvious that I'm doing the opposite. Mr.Hovind is surely one of a kind!
Yes I think his sentance was a tad severe...now if he'd been put in jail for teaching kids his nonsenscal theories of a 6000 year old earth I'd be more supportive! lol.
lmao, Kent Hovind is very amusing to watch - even in live debates he spends most of it promoting his video series. He's not really debating he's just choosing the appropriate snippet from his lecture and regurgitating it.
thanks, and some good points made there! Dogma and indoctrication is a real stumbling block for the creationists. It's like a form of hypnotism started from childhood that is difficult for many of them to shake. God may exist for all I know...but if he does, he sure aint the fella as described in the bible.
The idea of a creator I can cope with - even though I'm agnostic on the subject myself at present. As for young earth creationism, well I just don't see how the bible can possibly be taken literally by anyone with more than 2 braincells.
"Special" as in making some people with defective bodies that are severely crippled mentally and/or physically? "Special" as in making psychopaths who lack the normal innate empathy that people have, who take pleasure in the suffering of others?
I tend to believe that aliens probably do exist purely based on the number of galaxies x by the number of stars (suns) in each of those galaxies. However, that does'nt help me decide who or what brought them into existence either.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
And I guarantee you've never seen an alien either. You used the word "probably", and you used the word based upon a guess, nothing concrete. That requires faith in something you've never personally seen. You also said, "However, that does'nt help me decide who or what brought them into existence either." which leads me to believe that you believe in aliens without any doubt. Am I correct in my understanding?
Probably only means probably. There's no faith involved as I'm admitting to guess work and not any committed belief. I'm just saying that if I had to put money on it, then I'd bet for it rather than against it. As for betting on the existance of an almight god the creator... well, we have very good evidence for 99% of the big bang theory. But what or who sparked it is another matter that I havent resolved within myself yet.
Atheism is not a religion. We lack dogma, we lack prophets, we lack brainwashing, the opinion you are putting forward is just an ad homimem attack on the atheistic community based on ignorance.
Two quick basic questions. If any atheist can answer this without making up stupid loquacious answers, (WHICH I KNOW THEY CAN'T ANSWER!!!!), I'll respond with a video message stating that I'm sorry for doubting. 1) WHAT IS LIFE?, 2) WHERE DID IT COME FROM? Remember, loquacious=rambling. Best of luck...LOL!!!!
A couple of meaty questions there. My video was'nt really aimed at dismissing god, it was aimed at the ridiculousness of literal belief in the bible as historical fact. The earth is older than 6000yrs! If god is there, I just hope he's not the way he's depicted in the bible. Brutal, jealous and downright nuts in some instances. Why life came into being. There may not even be a why for all we know. I hope there is though!
In the natural sciences, abiogenesis, the question of the origin of life, is the study of how life on Earth might have emerged from non-life. Scientific consensus is that abiogenesis occurred sometime between 4.4 billion years ago, when water vapor first liquefied, and 2.7 billion years ago, when the ratio of stable isotopes of carbon (12C and 13C ), iron and sulfur points to a biogenic origin of minerals and sediments, and molecular biomarkers indicate photosynthesis.
Sorry Kal, I accidentally removed a video as a response to my "Kent Hovind - King of Fools" video, when I went to click on it to watch it, (the remove button is right below the window on my screen, and there's no confirmation).
I'm figuring this was the video, (I only briefly saw the preview pic).
lol.The truly sad thing is that he is considered a hero to some. How anyone with an a bit of common sense can fall for his nonsense is beyond me.Big time zero!
He is indeed quite the clever fraudster. His debates are like watching one giant commercial for his video series and books which he mentions at very regular intervals. I wonder how many he's sold to his inmates?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
OK...WHERE DID WE COME FROM? Now remember, nothing to something. I'll help you out with some basic math... 0+0=0, and 0-0=0. Evolution: 0+0=LIFE. I think it should be a mandatory law that all atheist should go back to kindergarten and 1st grade to learn basic math..LOL!!!!!!
hmm? I'm not sure if you can apply the numbers test to life as easily as that. Afterall, quantum physics defy just about every physics law that we know..the numbers game certainly does'nt count on a sub-atomic level. However, what you are saying is that 0+0=God. Thats not an equation, its a leap of faith. However, I do hope you are right! Let me know the next time god parts the sea or something and I'll be sure to come and be fully converted.
I dunno about the last time, but I have. Several times. And the funny thing is, evolutionists always get annoyed with me when I actually want to discuss the scientific facts.
Errors in the scientific method? Now that is a new one... I havent heard nor seen any biologcal problems with evolution, and Im guessing you are refuring to the hoaxes that scientists disproved with the last one.
I wont get annoyed with your scientific facts - providing your facts are agreed on by the VAST majority of properly accredited scientists, cosmologists, biologists, chemists etc. I'm guessing they don't for the most part.
I wonder if all half life dating is wrong. Perhaps we know nothing of isotopes.. (hides under desk) Perhaps Hovind is the smartest man ever... ok.. hahahahahhahaha. My vote is Zero.
lol, well in fairness some of his presentations are genuninely amusing - he just fails to realize that all of the dating methods that he claims are wrong - are therefore all wrong in exactly the same way. i.e. they all tell us the earth and universe are millions of years old - but he says all are faulty. Even an idiot would see that as too much of a coincidence.
Your arguments---CHIHUAHUA!
What were you saying?

But, again, I have never seen life arise of non-life, and again, no one else has either. I have never seen a dog produce a non-dog. I have never seen a mutation produce new information in a genome. You call this "mental gymnastics" only because you don't know what else to say.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
How ever life arose.. (Via a supreme being or spontaneously) you can bet it was'nt 6000 years ago in the fictional garden of eden with talking serpents and magic fruit trees.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
Then why don't you tell me how it happened? You obviously "know" it didn't happen the way described in the book of Genesis, so how did it happen? If you don't know, then how do you absolutely know it didn't happen the way described in Genesis?
jtlbb2 3 years ago
damn - whats wrong with you?? You sounding sillier with each post. Just because I dont know how to make a fairy cake doesnt mean I should assume that fairies made it. I reject genesis because my adult intelligence tells me that it is utter utter nonsense and for no other reason. I don't exactly know how everything came to be - but you can bet your ass it wasn't as your 2000 year old book says.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
"my adult intelligence tells me that it is utter utter nonsense" Is this the same adult "intelligence" that leads you to accept that life comes from non-life and that dogs can produce non-dogs? Again, abiogenesis is a fairytale. No evidence suggests a dog will produce a non-dog, etc. I don't see why your so critical about the bible, and cannot see how silly evolution is.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
Kent Hovind has a very 2 dimentional view of evolution. Even if a god put the intial spark into life then I still tend to accept that evolution did the rest. (Probably). These things are all debateable - except the fiction of the bible - It is clearly a book written by man and not a revelation from god. If I'm wrong - the bible god is not a character I have or ever could have any respect or love for. Damn - I apologise for re-igniting this thread - I'll shut up now. lol.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
I see no point in continuing since you say that you really don't want to continue, and I hate being limited to 500 characters.
"If I'm wrong - the bible god is not a character I have or ever could have any respect or love for."
That says it all. This explains why you're so willing to over-look the flaws in evolution, but are so critical to the bible. You're essentially saying even if I could prove the bible is true, you still wouldn't believe it. So much for going where the evidence leads.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
Let me put it another way, GOD IN THE BIBLE (especially old testament) IS AN EVIL VINDICTIVE PROUD NUTCASE. He is replusive in almost every way. SCIENCE KNOWS the earth is BILLIONS of years old so there is NO DEBATE on that - only in the imaginations and twisted psuedo science of the faithful. This is why Kent Hovind struggled so hard to get anyone to debate him - its like debating with someone about the tooth fairy. parting seas, magic trumpets, talking snakes and donkeys are for fiction lovers
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
Do you want to continue this debate or not?
jtlbb2 3 years ago
"I have never seen a dog produce a non-dog"
If such a thing happened, it would be evidence AGAINST evolution as a scientific theory. Clearly you don't know the first thing about evolution. Can you even define it?
"I have never seen a mutation produce new information in a genome."
What do you mean by information? Do you even know what you're asking? New traits have been observed many times. Longer genomes, novel proteins... take your pick.
smaakjeks 3 years ago
of course life from non-life has never been observed - as we have no clue about the circumstances that may have caused it or how to replicate them. Don't quote too much from hovind - remember hovind believes the bible is a science book. IT IS NOT! Creationists look silly when the say that. No doubt they will continue to say it though. You do not need the silly stories of the bible to believe in a god. I doubt there is one..but am open to the possibility given actual proof.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
You say "of course life from non-life has never been observed"--if this is the case, then what basis do evolutionists have to accept abiogenesis? They don't--they just "know" it had to have happened that way simply because the only other plausible alternative is to invoke the supernatural. And, I dont' know where you get this idea that I am "quoting" Hovind. Believe it or not, I just happened to agree with a lot of what he says (not all).
jtlbb2 3 years ago
I have no problem with the "possibility" of the supernatural. I doubt it - but I'm not discounting it completely. MY ARGUMENT is with this 6000 year old earth literal bible fairystory twaddle. The bible does have its uses - it makes an effective door-stop.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
Since you have said you don't really want to continue, and I don't want to when I am limited like this, I'll end it here. Cheers, and hope there is no hard feelings.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
sure, just message me with whatever your arguments are. I'll try to get back sometime later. Thanks.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
I am no more "quoting" Hovind anymore than you are "quoting" Dawkins. And Hovind does not believe the Bible is a science text, he just believes (as do I) that where the Bible touches upon science, it is accurate. It gives us the big picture, but not all the details. For example, the Bible says animals will reproduce after their kind, and they do. When dog breeders breed dogs, believe it or not, they really do expect to get dogs... and they do. You are presenting straw men.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
Science goes where the evidence takes it - it changes and is self correcting over time. Religion is rigid and cannot accomodate any science that contradicts what is within its dog-eared pages. Nothing personal but I cannot possibly continue a lengthy discussion with someone who for even one moment considers that the story of noahs ark etc is true etc, and believes all the wicked doctrines of the old testament were a good idea. You can have the last word - I'm outta here.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
Science isn't the problem, evolution is. Evolutionist do not just go where the evidence leads. There is no evidence life comes from non-life, only the contrary, yet they believe it happened. There is no observable evidence that any animal can produce a fundamentally different kind of animal, but yet, they believe it happened. There is only examples specialization in animals (loss of genetic info), yet, they believe it happens. Evolution is the fairytale.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
"There is no evidence life comes from non-life, only the contrary, yet they believe it happened."
Evolutionists 'believe' in the change of frequenties of alleles over time...you know...evolution, not abiogenesis.
"There is no observable evidence that any animal can produce a fundamentally different kind of animal, but yet, they believe it happened."
No they didn't.
They 'believe' that populations can split and over a long time those divided populations can't interbreed.
Terrencje 3 years ago
Each population then gets his own variations and new features so in millions of years the two species are very different.
It works like a tree with branches, not that a dog gives birth to something other than a dog.
The evidences for this are things in the fossilrecord along with DNA studies.
I'm talking about VIT 1,2,3 in mammals, GULO in primates, ERV's, biogeography, transitional species, embryology, homology, endosymbiosis and more
Terrencje 3 years ago
BTW, I don't like being limited to 500 characters. If you want to continue this discussion, then I would be willing to through private msg, because I find it frustrating to be limited when I have so much more to say. If you don't want to continue through private msg, then fair enough.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
"BTW, I don't like being limited to 500 characters. If you want to continue this discussion, then I would be willing to through private msg, because I find it frustrating to be limited when I have so much more to say. If you don't want to continue through private msg, then fair enough."
I'm ready and willing to discuss evolution with you. I have the academic background to do so adequately.
smaakjeks 3 years ago
"Evolutionists believe that the first life form must have emerged from non-living matter."
Not all properties of what we consider life spontaneously popped into existence. It's a gradual process, like evolution. A continuum of steps from simple probionts to self replicating cells that reproduce with inheritance. And even creationists believe that life came from non-life... Unless you think life has always existed. In which case you are a moron.
smaakjeks 3 years ago
And I know what Kent believes. Again, to me believing in a literal Genesis is no more radical than evolutionists believing life could have originated from non-living matter. Also, radiometric dating techniques DO have their faults and there is a little more to their dating than "human input". As a chemist myself, I am pretty familiar with how carbon dating can (and does) give inaccurate dates.
jtlbb2 3 years ago
You have a conflict of interests - like most literal bible believers, whenever anything conflicts with what your bronze age books says you do mental gymnastics and go through hell and highwater to find something to refute the scientific findings.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
I haven't ever seen anything in science that conflicts with the bible. You seem to only resort to sarcasm and condescension when discussing this, why? You can't seem to rationally speak of this without trying to be at the same time, insulting.

J43fan 3 years ago
ok about the tax evasion.
Nicademus79 3 years ago
Let's face it, Kent Hovind was raking it in with his videos, in every debate or talk I've ever seen him in he promotes a video from his series about every 2 minutes. His clever "copy it and send it back" ploy was smart in that he knows most people will won't send it back - thus he makes a fortune for teaching utter nonsense to children and adults alike. He should have gone to Jail for that rather than the tax evasion.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
Well watch TV evangelist and see how many times they try to sell you some kind of healing oil or cloth or beg you for your money at least he put his money where his mouth is and actually provided facts. That no one could disbute him on. All his money went to either Dinosaur World or to offer 500 dollars to debate him. Harvard Yale and Berkeley refused to debate him and he even offered them money for it. He only promoted his videos to show that he proved his point on another videoand to reiterate
Nicademus79 3 years ago
Few people would debate him because no one worth their salt wanted to be seen taking him seriously. Its the old saying - "never argue with an idiot - they will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience". According to him the 98.8% of proper scientists are wrong..and he and his tiny percentage of fellow faith "scientists" were right. Scientists spend their lives seeking truth - Hovind spent his life trying to prove bible - real scientists don't operate that way.
kalsolarUK 3 years ago
It's hard to debate the truth. Considering ourselves to be wise we have become fools. You know scientists classify us homo-homo sapians now. Meaning wise-wise beings. Funny how that was predicted by the bible and were seeing now.

I think it takes more faith to follow the atheist evolution religion. Do you believe that aliens exsist?
rmaynard1969 4 years ago
I tend to believe that aliens probably do exist purely based on the number of galaxies x by the number of stars (suns) in each of those galaxies. However, that does'nt help me decide who or what brought them into existence either.
kalsolarUK 4 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
And I guarantee you've never seen an alien either. You used the word "probably", and you used the word based upon a guess, nothing concrete. That requires faith in something you've never personally seen. You also said, "However, that does'nt help me decide who or what brought them into existence either." which leads me to believe that you believe in aliens without any doubt. Am I correct in my understanding?
rmaynard1969 4 years ago
Probably only means probably. There's no faith involved as I'm admitting to guess work and not any committed belief. I'm just saying that if I had to put money on it, then I'd bet for it rather than against it. As for betting on the existance of an almight god the creator... well, we have very good evidence for 99% of the big bang theory. But what or who sparked it is another matter that I havent resolved within myself yet.

GavinJ06 4 years ago
Two quick basic questions. If any atheist can answer this without making up stupid loquacious answers, (WHICH I KNOW THEY CAN'T ANSWER!!!!), I'll respond with a video message stating that I'm sorry for doubting. 1) WHAT IS LIFE?, 2) WHERE DID IT COME FROM? Remember, loquacious=rambling. Best of luck...LOL!!!!
rmaynard1969 4 years ago
A couple of meaty questions there. My video was'nt really aimed at dismissing god, it was aimed at the ridiculousness of literal belief in the bible as historical fact. The earth is older than 6000yrs! If god is there, I just hope he's not the way he's depicted in the bible. Brutal, jealous and downright nuts in some instances. Why life came into being. There may not even be a why for all we know. I hope there is though!
kalsolarUK 4 years ago
1) Living things need to take in energy
2) Living things get rid of waste
3) Living things grow and develop

6) Over time, living things evolve (change slowly) in response to their environmen
