I agree with you that "fear" was involved, but not fear of the "dark-sided stuff." She feared the loss of control over her family, and her own inadequacies. Actually, it has nothing to do with religion. She is a woman who is controlled by her fears. She uses her religion and it seems, food, to battle the fact she is afraid. when she feels like she is out of a situation she can control, her fear overwhelms her and her behavior becomes psychotic. Her rant at the end was her letting her fear go thru anger. Pity her, dont hate her or judge her as a bad name against christians. This is a woman ruled by her phobias.

It's also a book where the good guy kills more people than the bad guy. Yahweh killed 2,300,000 people not including the massive flood genocide, yet Satan only killed 10 people. @BTNH24 Satan doesn't have authority to kill people. However, he does try and lead people as far away from God as possible. And also, God doesn't just kill people for the sake of killing. Sometimes, crime deserves punishment. He has the power to take away life, but it was Him who granted us life in the first place.

I totally agree. I'm a muslim and I'm a Singaporean. We are multi racial country and we respect every religion. I've even got Christian friends coming to my home and my family really welcome them with warmth. And during Christmas, we too give them presents as respect as we are neighbours. You know what's really sad? Watch that video again and pay very close attention to the youngest daughter of the family. however crazy this woman is aside...one has to realize the cold reality that whatever your perception of "Jesus teachings" may be, they aren't the source of acting reasonable and moral. You can be entirely reasonable, loving, moral, etc without any teachings of Jesus. If you're referring to the bible, then you're only picking and choosing...because there's plenty of fear and superstition in it to be used as psychological ammo for people to become that crazed.

i guess im not sure exactly what you're asking. if you are asking whether or not i believe the catholic religion is a true christian one, i do. if you are asking whether or not i believe it is the correct flavor of christianity, i would say that it is not for me. i have many grievences with certain aspects of catholic thinking, but that also assumes all catholics think alike. in my experience they do not.

Accepting people and respecting them universally is something that we all know within us innately. In no way am I saying Jesus did not exist. I don't know if he did or he didn't-I believe he probably did. Jesus was about teaching men how to live together in harmony. Jesus wrote no scriptures in the bible.
I can tell you to go to scripture, if you take into account that the scriptures were written by religious philosphers...did you read the passages? There's so much symbolism and metaphor throughout. I didn't say JESUS is a mental construct; the Christian GOD is a mental construct.

I too have felt a bit responsible for the acts of people, but that is not to say that I have not been personally responsible for my own deeds that may have turned people off from Jesus. I commend you. Also, we must never forget that we too were once part of the "darkness", but God has made us children of light.

that woman was insane. you're words were true. she was overreacting in order to get attention. I think for a moment she turned into the female version of Bilbo Baggins when he goes loco over the ring in LOTR, Fellowship of the Ring.

Read verse 20 again... He refers to one's righteousness, not your ability to follow the law. Only through Christ's sacrifice and faith in Him are we made clean and righteous. This woman and her friends think they can make themselves and their families clean by shunning and separating THEMSELVES from evil. Problem is, they can't without trusting Christ to do it FOR them. By allowing their own spiritual pride to rule them, they end up accomplishing and becoming just the opposite.

Yes i would say she has bi polar. Probably forgot to take medication or maybe is undiagnoised. My father was the same way. This is a form of abuse, we were religiously abused.

But who hasn't had an outburst sometime in their life and come out with a stream of dumb stuff? I wouldn't take the event too seriously. It may simply be a crazy moment and certainly not the sum of her. Who knows? She could usually be a very kind well-meaning person and now embarrased over her over-reaction.

I don't think the woman was scared, I think she was having a tantrum to get attention from her family. She's a drama queen, and that's about all there is to it. Other drama queens have tantrums about family members dating someone they don't like, or staying out late, or any number of other excuses for throwing a fit.
