Yeah, a 1mw red laser (standard laser pointer) can cause damage if your eyes are longer exposed than 0,25 seconds. A 5mw green laser will probably cause damage to your eyes so anyone can imagine what 15mw to 500mw Lasers are capable of. A mere reflection (from a mirror or a glossy surface) of a high power laser pointer can cause blindness.
