My town has one of the greatest High School Marching bands in America and have appeared in numerous parades like the Disney World Christmas day parade and the Macy's thanksgiving parade and lots of people in my town really respect them, well I on the other hand will not until they can play this song ( or at least the caramelldancen at one of their basketball games which I would happily attend despite going to the rival school.) ^ u ^

I just noticed...the guy with the picture who isn't playing when the camera is close actually does play his trombone during this. If you look in the back row when the camera shows the whole orchestra, you can see him performing.

I can bet a million dollars that the marching band from my rival high school can't play this without messing up and they've played at Macys, The rose bowl, the disney christmas day parade and is one of the best marching bands in the country. OK, to put all the hating to rest, let me clarify. When I said open I meant that things like this actually happen over there. I am aware that the real definition of "Otaku" has a negative connotation. What I meant is that in America, something like this would almost never happen. A bunch of proud nerds aren't going to get together in America and form an orchestra. What these people have done here is awesome. Whether it's nerdy or not, this video is really an amazing thing.

Anime and otaku culture is viewed in much the same light as, say, Dungeons & Dragons or Star Trek conventions are here. In fact, the term "otaku" is actually an extremely negative one, despite what weeaboos seem to believe.
