I read an interview in Modern Drummer years ago in which Vinnie discussed his seat height. Apparently he used to sit very low but due to increasing back pain had to set his seat higher up. Notice how he also used match grip.
NUOVO: Americani possono giocare a poker su Doylesroom com!
It was kind of a shame that disco got its ass kicked so bad. There was some GREAT disco, especially some of the horn band stuff. Earth Wind and Fire? Nuff said. Anyway, I remember seeing this on SNL the night they did it. Funny as hell watching Vinny drum his ass off sitting only a foot off the floor. You can't even see him behind the kit! LOL
his butt is about 6 inches below his knees. i know he has raised his seat height since then, but i don't know how he had good balance THAT low to play as well as he did.
While Disco Demolition Night gets all the credit for bringing the Disco era to a sudden close the huge popularity of this song released several months earlier deserves part of the credit.

Frank was just a daggone genius. The song transends the period, and the target. It's applications are endless.
