It has an cold air intake on it in the video that is what makes it loud since there is no box to quieten the sound. Never had a problem with it. It now has 130,000 miles on it. 32'' tires lift kit and about 800-1000 lbs of skid plates bumpers etc, on it. Good truck. Down side is it loves the fuel.
Hey dude, why does it whine so loud? Is it cause the intake? I know it has a supercharger on it but the one I tested you couldn't hear it nearly as good.
Also any problems with yours? This one is Orange 03 4x4 with 158xxx.
Ya, you have to use premium fuel, if not it knocks like crazy and goes right through it. The SC ones are the only ones I would have between 2000-2004.
hey do you fill with premium at every fill up? Was looking at an S/C'ed '03 and the dealer said it didn't need to be.. I've read other places that it is a must for engine life... who do I believe?
@thej0hnson - anything performance NEEDS premium. dont listen to the dealer, he just wants you to have to come back for repairs. If its supercharged, turbocharged, or just makes alot of horse power it needs premium. if you dont run premium in it then in a fiew months you be paying $6-7 thousand for a new supercharger and what ever els it destroyed.

hey bud is slight vibrations normal in these trucks nothing crazy but it sounds more power packed than say a luxury car lol.

@thej0hnson you HAVE to use premium. compared with the price of replacing broken/damaged engine pieces.. an extra $3 a fill-up is nothing.
