reason why teams like dof, mirage, 3w were so successfull is that besides having excellent players they had the best pings. as far as i recall these were mostly scandinavian players and due to their good connectivity they had pings like 30 to 50 which was incredibly low back in the days. there were other very good players such as from united basterds or so but with pings about 120-160 they couldnt compete. mid airs were nice but usually one was ripped into pieces from a maschine gun low pinger

There is a cheat for T2 - Happy Mod 2 - use it with ONLY the first patch! IM me for it.

I've played Halo and it a good game BUT Yeah Tribes2 is one hell of a game. Can't wait till Tribes:Ascend comes out sometime this year. Also about this video... hmmm... what types of RETICLES are u actually using? I don't see any at all?

3:12 manages to make me crack up every time I see it. There are some amazing skill shots in here, along with many mind-blowing shots were complete accidents but turned out great for the camera. Fun video, I miss T2.

How i miss T2 and the good folks of its community. Tthose good old times in GA. The weekly matches on TheLadder, every match, even scrimms, brimming with ever present excitement.

No game will ever aproximate what Tribes 2 was, parts may come close, but nothing will ever feel as complete as it was. At least not for me. :)

TFOR from GA / Geisha Assassins here...I can barely stand the nostalgizm watching this movie...only thin wrong with it is that I aint in it ;D. Hopefully they will bring this good old t2 back to live one day with only a better netcode...no multiplayer game will ever come near this one :D. Really miss the good old days ! :D

I couldn't agree with Polka more. Tribes 2 brought me the best gaming of my life and i highly doubt any other game will surpass it in my eyes. The community was awesome. I just feel the game was way before it's time hence Sierra ruining it.

Let's hope some developers make a carbon copy of the game and re-release it... I would buy it in a heartbeat!

well a company is making a browser based version of the first Tribes, it eill be exactly the same as the original and can still use mods

For people asking, it's not a movie with only [dof] people, after the success of descendants 1, many people contributed with their own recordings (tribes allowed you to record games/matches so you could rewatch them ingame, not needing to fraps and so on) for this movie. These movies are still considered the best 'video game movies' I've ever seen..

I have it, but I haven't played it since 2004 when it first came out. I don't know, it just wasn't ever as good as Tribes 2 was, and I don't think it ever will be. Tribes 2 was the pinacle of the series, nothing else compares to date.

I think it's potentially just as good, a very slick new graphics engine, the grappling hook is a good addition and the weapons have been fine tuned. Only a lack of players and servers makes finding a decent game almost impossible :(

Still, I do miss the hey day for Tribes2. Even though there were too many servers doing just the map Katabatic :)

Tribes vs Halo, tribes wins no contest there. I mean one of the most underrated PC shooters (Tribes) vs one of the most ovcerrated, and generic console shooters out there (Halo)

You want to check the time tables... Tribes franchise hit the shelves on december 98. Tribes 2 was released in Q1 2001 while the XBox and Halo reached the stores around Q4 2001.

So you might rephrase to "Hmm it looks like Halo devs got inspired by the good old Tribes franchise."

Wow. You think you could teach me how to do that? I only play Tribes 1, and I can only pull off like a tenth of those moves. Defensive End ingame, but you're prolly just set on T2. I'm usually on Land of Oz and DD servers.

This is by far one of the greatest Tribes 2 movies created. It's really a shame it never really took off like I hoped it would (such as counter-strike, which is STILL incredibly popular) All in all, incredible movie to watch, and even if you never played Tribes 2 before, you can tell the incredible skill of these players. Nice editing/Syncing. 5/5

Personally, I think this movie involved more skill and interesting happenings than the first Descendants did, but overall, the first Descendants was funner to watch (maybe because of the music? and the way the shots were put to the music).

Still an uberly-awesome video, I give props. Descendants is always going to be the thing stuck in my head though.
