  • You're right about his apologetics. But he's about 150 times the political thinker you'll ever be.

  • yt keeps taking down my sexy vids!!!!

stop fighting on youtube xD vX

  • Facts don't mean much to Repugs!

  • dude..come one. dumbcraps only think more about slogans than reality. Look at my state..Massachusetts with a Governor who is a do nothing governor now with the same management as your guy. Can't you see that polititians are just that..all BS. Slick slogans, signs, locations and BS is all BHO has.

  • McCain doesn't know his Shiite from his Sunni. That's not a joke. He's mixed them up several times. Do we want this doddering old fool in the White House so he can continue shilling for the oil companies and eroding America? 8 years of "bottom the class" presidents was enough.

  • If the war is McCains turf, he is in trouble, he cant remember the facts, or just flat out lies about it. HOnestly, he didnt expect someone to criticize him over the "progress in Iraq" where americans can walk in public without heavy armor. THat was a blatant lie, and for someone who knows so much about the war, one should assume there would be little to no mistakes, but McCaint isnt convincing anyone who has a brain.

  • I think everyone, or at least nearly everyone, knows that McCain threw in with the GOP in 2000. The media is just been taken over by a couple of large corporations that all trout the party line. Check out the new video where Moyer is addressing the NCMR and see the efforts that are being made to take it back from these neo-con clowns. Then join in the effort to get real news and stop the maddness.

  • McCain's focus seams to be on the war because that's his turf. There's a reason why he doesn't talk about anything else. Only talk about about the stuff you know or think you know. He seams out of the loop. Most Americans are more concerned with the economy then the war. The economy has overtaken the American people's interest. Some advice to McCain: It's the economy stupid.

  • Funny that political people who come back from Iraq claim one thing or another about how things are going on there - you have Dem coming back saying it is worse - Rep coming back saying it is better....they never see the "real" Iraq because they are always surrounded and closely protected by security - either party cannot know what is truely the situation on the ground - going by rumor not fact - we need truth not politics concerning the lives of our kids - why is the Whitehouse flag not lowered

  • all bullshit when your in iraq and the firs bullet goes by your head all this shit goes out the window

  • David Brooks - just another GOP shill!

  • 155,000!!!???

    WOW...

    JUST PATHETIC

    PATHETIC NEO-CON BS

selling his soul for the NWO

    wake up ppl

  • the orwellian tactic of repeating the same lies over and over for the retarded zombie masses to march in locked steps. thank heaven for the ones who are finally waking up!

  • he said mccain was right about iran NOT iraq listen again

  • The NY Times is making amends as they had a stupid story about McCain's affair, which they were made to look like a fool. Now they are kissing McCain's ass.

  • Low casualty levels? I think I speak for everyone when I say, Allllll right!!!! What a good war we're having!! Only a couple dozen people are dying every day! This is awesome.

  • Cenk, whats happening is the revision of history and pre-history. History is being written before it happens. Thats why the surge will work, is working, and has worked, before it even really got going or ended.

Its like everything that dosent fit into the pre-written narrative, is automatically discarded as irrelevant.

Thats what we get from the "liberal" NY Times.

  • Oh, the surge has worked, you say? Sounds likt Iraq is still a shithole to me from what I hear.

Oh, and I seriously doubt the objectively of anyone who throws around 'liberal' like it's a dirty word or something.

  • no i you misunderstood. or perhaps i wasnt clear. I probably agree with you. I should have said thats why THEY say the surge will work, and is working. they are revising history before, during and after its happening.

everything that dosent fit into the pre-written narrative, is automatically discarded as irrelevant

and I was mocking the way the right calls the NY times "liberal", when clearly it isnt.

  • More proof that I am not a morning person.

  • Hahaha, awesome comment megagrey.

  • mcalien24: thanks for clearing up that misunderstanding. Good to know you're on the right side (that's right as in correct; not right as in Right Wing). Have a nice day.

  • mcalien24: GOP troll-speak. Give it up, buddy. America is sick and tired of your partizan lies. Go back to Daddy Rove and report that your YT GOP troll mission has failed, just like everything else the GOP has done these past 8 years.

  • no you misunderstood me, i probably agree with you. I should have said thats why THEY say the surge will work, and is working. they are revising history before, during and after its happening.

everything that dosent fit into the pre-written narrative, is automatically discarded as irrelevant

  • i actually like Brooks. the Blackberry excuse is off and slightly off topic, but he has a solid pt with the follow up. i still don't agree with Brooks, but it's not an unreasonable argument.

  • American is in a world of pain if Mcflipflop gets elected. The sad part is that a large amount of people believes in his lies and that is seriously dangerous. Now he is planning this "League Of Democracies" which will create a 2nd Cold War against Russia and China. I guess people don't learn from history these days

  • idk. he makes a pretty good point.

  • What, that if you throw enough ground troops at something you'll get an improvement? It matters very much whether we've drawn down to pre-surge levels, because the question isn't "can we reduce violence if we keep lots and lots of American soldiers there", it's "can the Iraqi government keep order without us?"

  • no lol. that was supposed to be a reply to an earlier comment. it just got screwed up.

  • there appears to be a pattern here

  • David Brooks is on PBS Newshour on fridays, he's always good for a laugh.

  • I personally don't think that politicians should be running this war anyhow. That's how we fucked up in Vietnam. The war should be run by the commanders on the ground and nobody else. However, I will say that if any politician is going to have a say in it, I would much rather have input from a man who almost died fighting in Vietnam than from someone who never served at all. John McCain has repeatedly proven his valor and integrity. I don't like Bush, but I have a lot of respect for McCain.

  • There are some decisions that the military doesn't and shouldn't be allowed to make automously. Paramount among those decisions is when to go to war and when to sue for peace. That's what we're talking about and that's where McCain's come up short.

Secondly, I'm not sure why McCain gets credit for spending years in a North Vietnamese prison camp. What insight does getting captured somehow during a completely different war some 30 years ago on making the decisions related to this war?

  • Credit in prison camp. It makes him the Manchurian Candidate.

  • so then anyone that is a former prisoner of war has the knowledge to run the military, and the country? when some of the best presidents haven't served in the military at all.

  • argh i hate that kind of thinking lets not look at his policies or what works and what doesn't McCains been in a war therefore he must be right about every war decision. He wasn't right about invading Iraq was he? aslo if it goes on who's fought in a war then you must have voted kerry in 2004 right? McCain used be good but now he's just another sold out neo-con

  • I agree. The vietnam war is very different than the war in Iraq. Plus he keeps on pushing the war issue, like the bomb bomb Iran song. He acts fucking crazy. Maybe once a great and honorable man has turned corrupt by Bush's regime.

  • I HAD respect for McCain. Ever since he won the nomination, he's been Bush's boy. What does that say about how he'll run the country? Can you even tell, when he goes against his stated principles to get elected?

  • John McCain is incompetent.

  • Welcome to Bizarro World!

  • where's the ending?

  • your face is the ending

  • how can i argue with that?

  • idk. he makes a pretty good point.

  • you cant
