@cookingtheeasyway Hey, thanks for that. Great vid, I'll make the recipe this Sunday, but that song spoke what my girl believes she is to me, to the word and sentiment.
Thank you for sharing. The Stuffed Cabbage sure looks good and nice. But what makes this dish taste even better is the music that you chose . Nice tune and thkx again
Thank you so much for your nice comment...i am no expert!! i just cook for my family and friends and put together the cooking videos for others maybe to get an idea about cooking. i hope you try some of them. let me know!! take care and have a great day.
Awwh !! okay, i have viewed a couple of your vids...and besides good cooking, you actually have great taste in music...i watch your vids because of the music as well.
in the video you say "check water content add if needed" but you never said to add water in the beginning so again my question from the grape leaves video , do you add water in the beginning of cooking or just oil ?
at .06 minute of the movie you can see a list of the ingredients and i put down water at the bottom line...yes you add water to it to cook and check for the water in the pot, if the cabbages and rice are fully cooked then you do not need to add anymore water, if they are still hard, then add a little and let simmer to soften. good luck!
cutiexbeauty, if you feel better about pre-cooking the meat and rice before rolling it in the cabbage leaves, go ahead...but i assure you, if you roll it raw with the rice and cook it according to directions, it will cook fully and will be fully done. thanks for your question and watching.
its very easy! you just have to cut around the stems with a fine pointy knife! do not cut the leaves, just cut around the stem keeping the leaves in a good shape enough to roll. i hope i explained this good enough for you to know what i mean! :)
when you cut the stems, keep them and put them in the bottom of the pot then layer the stuffed cabbage on top of it. the reason why you have to cut the stems because they are hard in texture and you will not be able to roll them.
Hello.. i have a question.. how can i take off the roots(vein) of the cabage?? I heard that u have to take it off.. is it right? And if it is,, whats the easiest way? cause I have no idea.
Hello, I have a quick question if i did this and coverd the pot and put into the fregrator over night and cooked the next day do you think it would be ok?? it saves me alot of time but i was just wondering do you think it would turn out ok? and the same? Please let me know Thanks
MrsAmora, YES, it would be perfectly ok to do it a day ahead of time. it is a time saver method that many people use to roll it the day before and cook it the next day. you just need to add the liquids to it once you cook it and not the day before. Happy cooking!
I think I watched all your videos today and that's making me hungry lol
A suggestion, u before you start putting the cabage in lyers, u can add the ribs or what we say in arabic(dloo3 el malfouf) at the bottom, so the cabage wont burn, that s what my mother does usually, and nothing goes to waist!
You are welcome!! glad you liked it and i hope it works out for you. i should have dedicated this video to you!! but i will write the dedication on my cooking blog for you! :)
Yes, this is how we cook it in the middle east! the stuffing could vary between one with meat and other without and the type of oil used, such as using olive oil if you are cooking it vegetarian style.
I love your kind of food . My ex was armenian and I am hispanic and I loved all this great food. how do you marinate fillet mignon for shish kabobs ? I would love to know ? Thanks for the cabbage recipe. do you have also a marrinate where you use yogurt in your recipe . I went to a persian rest. that said they used yogurt in their meat kabobs?
