Your comment makes no sense. "The ps3 doesn't overheat" ....the hell it doesn't! I've had my system since it's first release. I was probably a selected few that had it the first day. From my experience it does overheat quite often. If you have a system, you haven't had it long enough to experience the YLOD.

@mounlasy One glance at Playstations solution to cooling tells you it's not going to work once it gets some dust in it.

Console producers really need to look at the cooling solutions of gaming computers for inspiration for the console systems.

I mean come on even two cheesy dust filters would help out.

Your right about the dust! My system has been collecting it since 2007..lol. Man was it nasty. After I cleaned it out and did the fan mod, it hasn't shut down on me once. But a filter would most certainly help out.
