Heartslord I have had a hard time trying to understand how to move in sparring offensively. I know we don't support learning how to attack people but for sparring purpose I need help. I have been using an "arrow step" it may have a different name but is basically a tan sao with a raise knee and I plow into my opponent from one to two step out its a big lunge really. It works the best out of anything I've tried but is it right? How do I attack a fast shifty fighter but stay in my horse?
@mosdef2000 I always find that being lazy and letting your opponent bridge the gap is a good way of dealing with them so i pretty much just make sure i am always facing a fast moving opponent but i dont chase them because thats what they want you to do so your off balance when then quickly sidestep then they can land masses of damage. Let them come to you and if they don't come to you there is no fight and then you can retreat.
Sounds good, nice approach. I've been attacked by multiple attackers where I had to sort of run the gauntlet as there was no other exit. Also with more than 8 guys closing in, had to try to get to the side and make them like a long tail to pick them off as if they gather around you it's hard to survive and you have no choice but completely deadly force. As to balance, when quite close my weight stays virtually on the back foot all the time. It's an odd but workable technique.
good information..

Will make some sort of video discussing this, hopefully it won't involve Charlied the Unicorn!
