If the Americans were allowed to carry arms on to the airplanes, 9/11 may not have taken place at all. Or even better, had the airlines provided ample security such as air marshals prior to 9/11, that tragedy may not have occurred. But in this country, fear makes the "nanny" state possible. Democrates and Republicans know that making the government "your provider and savior", might win a lot of elections: Could this fear be generated to maintain power?

Fighting terrorism is going after and eliminating terrorist groups. No one is against that Democrat or Republican.
