  • @2guys1diet your comment did not make any sense to me... What does having a hideous face have to do with whaling? There are what they are because of themselves.

  • aminha é no aquario

  • @mia2113mark There is a loop hole in the whaling laws that allows the killing of whales for research. However, in my opinion (and most of the world's) that what Japan is doing is in violation. They kill whales, do a few quick things like look at stomach contents, then process the whale into meat, fertilizer and pet food.

  • That is way AWESOME!

  • love to be just above it

  • w0w amazing

  • Stevethul1, you've got it backwards. God made man. Man made idols (false gods).

  • Japan sucks for insisting on killing whales. They don't need the meat. And there is no way in God's blue seas they are massacring these animals for research purposes, as they lie and say they're doing. They kill too many for research. Japan, we know your dirty little secret. This gig is up! We're stopping you! They aren't your animals! They belong to everyone in the world!

  • why do people like that because we can do that to except smaller

  • when he dose this the people screech loud enough for the whale to heat them. i think thats y

  • @brutalnessities1 yes BUT they don't just catch one tuna do they? and there's a HELL OF A LOT MORE TUNA then there are whales, and the reason is that THEY ARE MEANT TO BE PREY. whales are predators. they are not meant to be preyed upon. their numbers decline NATURALLY when they're is a scarcity of food. which we contribute to. take the predator out, and there will be too much tuna, the tuna will over-eat other species, and a huge domino effect ensues, ending with the extinction of many species.

  • He's so beautiful. An animal is a life nonetheless. Our cries could change their lives.

  • @stevethul1 now you cant tell that all the whalers kill them for non essentials, the larger amount (granted i dont know for sure) must be using them as food. also i completely agree with you final statement

  • @brutalnessities1 - Search and you will find this is "Killing for Profit":

The use of whale oil, meat, bones and teeth have been commonly used all over the world throughout history for multiple purposes. To this day, whale meat is still considered a delicacy In Japan, while sailors have historically used whale teeth for the purpose of passing time at sea as they carved them into sculptures.

Man Made god, Not, god Made Man - If we stay on the road of destruction, we too will pass into History.

  • I predict in 100 years there will be no more whales or tigers, and this YouTube comment will be nowhere, or at the bottom of a dusty old hard-drive if anywhere.

  • BEEP people who kill nature and eat animals

  • Simplemente increible. Hacen falta más videos y en mejor calidad porque valen la pena. Buen aporte :-)

  • that whale is cool as hell. i'd kick it with him lol

  • yep!

  • Yeah, totally!

  • Then you are making a decision for my life too... pretty arrogant. Because your attitude is so prevalent it is quite possible humans will destroy their own chance of survival. I think bacteria will prove to be the fittest.

Meanwhile I am glad to watch this amazing video again. And celebrate that Thorn (for now at least) is in waters where he is protected.

  • Whales are not like other animals. After centuries of inhumane hunting (There is no humane way of killing whales) they still show a curiosity in humans. They now trust us with their calves by bringing them over to boats.

We can learn a thing or two from whales.

  • in any case what ever he is doing,it is beautiful and thank goodness we can learn,

i just wish Japan would learn before it is to late

Sea Shepherd will be there to save them again this season

  • No thats not a buble net. Bubble nets are bigger and more dense. plus ive noticed that bubble nets extend further down in the water.

  • East coast (at least in the gulf of Maine) use bubble clouds, a huge bloop of bubble coming up from the deep rather than the bubble nets, spirals of small bubbles enclosing a fish school that the Alaskan whales use.

  • Whales do this to hunt, not communicate with people. They do this to surface schools of fish, and then eat the fish as they breach the surface.

  • In this case, he is not doing this to hunt or trap fish. I've never seen this type of bubble ring used to trap fish, only during close approaches to boats.

Humpbacks are very complex animals and do many things for perhaps various reasons.

  • @danthewhaleman Whales eat krill.... :P

  • Agree with Dan... whales are very complex and do things for many reasons. We can speculate but don't really know.

  • dudes, really do you even look up why he might be blowing bubbles not talking to you Dan but to the viewers, you all should do some research . I'm not trying to be mean

  • I work as a fluke matcher for Allied Whale and no one is really sure why .... as dan says it can be for various reasons. While naturalist on a whale watch boat, we had a youngster who blew bubble clouds right by the boat, came up through it spy hopping us, did three more on one side and then the other. We must have made a satisfying noise as we ran from one side of the boat to the other. Who knows but it certainly looked like fun not work.

  • This is how things SHOULD be. People gathering together for a sight seeing adventure to see the true beauty of nature. It is a gift. Yet people are COLD and turn what SHOULD be clear, clean blue water into a dark and evil BLOOD BATH. It is such a horrendous sight. Such beauty and innocence.. DESTROYED. Sad. Very sad.

  • soon there will be no whales to do this japan's qouta for this yaer is 1,000 whales to be killed for food all whales humpback's minkies wright whales all whales for food ONE THOUSAND this year stop killing whales for food

  • Does Thorn do this just near boats or all the time? Is he just having fun, playing a game? Does he like the cheers

  • He has only been seen doing this near boats, never from spotting planes. We don't know why he does this, we are just glad that he does it.

  • In early childhood I remember being fascinated by my uncle's ability to blow smoke rings. Fortunately I never took up smoking, so I never learned how to do it myself. Apparently this whale, Thorn, figured out a way without the health hazard. Maybe they're smarter than we are.

  • WOW! whales are architects! So cool!

  • I just viewed the Colt singing clip and take back my comments about it being the best. These bubble rings are outstanding. I wish I knew how Thorn did this.
