  • I dedicate this song to Glasswegian girl none other than Jill Bryson of Strawberry Switchblade.

  • Little Rose looks like a little mushroom :) !!

  • I know everyone goes for Rose...but I like Jill...she's cute !! x

  • get myself a glass of milk and a colour magazine

  • such a Romantic set!! (19th century sense of the word!)

  • I don't think the world will ever know such a beautiful sweet & sour sound again. Only Str Sw were able to do this.

  • Rose I love you, you are like a little fairy in my cosmos, you are always here to share my tears.. hope to meet you again soon. Simon.

  • damn! i wish I was the chair that Rose was sitting on! Rose is HOT !

  • which one is Rose? I'am new to this.

  • @basketballchickensod the one standing & dancing.

  • @simoom37 thanks..i've been waiting 5 months for this :)

  • @basketballchickensod my pleasure. I am a BIG fan of them, & Rose particularly since she has kept making music. So I know Rose very well...!! first times I saw the pictures I couldn't tell who was who, either!! with time it's been easy...

  • I actually prefer their more "Dolly Mixture-esque" folk pop demos to their later synthpop music. The original "Let Her Go" is amazing.

  • I agree, they got started with a cool abd very unique live sound, this later stuff is so over produced. Jill was right , they should have stayed small lable, and continued developing their sound a few more years before going mega famous.

  • I do not agree. Introducing synth sounds made that album more unique. Ordinary drum and guitar sounds are boring. Electro and/or multiinstrumentality is way better than classic rock instrumentaton. And the years 1981-88 featured fairly natural drum machines, unlike 90-ies "boom boom" techno beats.

One of may favourites is "Little river", it`s only too short... and Linn LM-1 was used there, I think. But SS live voices were very good.

  • Agreed. I have the biggest crush on her!

  • computers? what did they do?

  • Beautiful.

  • fantastic blast from the past! great live version! thanks for uploading!

  • Damn this song is bringing up 80's nostalgia!

  • The lads from Saint Etienne must have been fans, I think? The girls are fab, I have Since Yesterday on 7" vinyl, still sounds fantastic. Proper, melodic, simplistic pop with the exact amount of bitter/sweetness. Lovely stuff!

  • Thank you Miyuki Takehara and Akane for giving me this music!!!! Now find me

  • great dress

  • Love also The Sundays. Very much like SS, but little more melancoly. Both kick serious ass.

  • 6 STAR

  • just beautiful. it's sad that nobody makes music this good anymore, now its all emo and nu metal shit! kids, now you know where the japs got their lolita goth sense of fashion.

  • @kronik1973 I said that once and my weeaboo friend totally raged

  • Unequalled coolness. Their originality were unbelievable!!

  • One of the 80's most beautiful songs....Jill and Rose are soooo damn sexy rarrr!

  • Sexy in a classy, elegant way. Hardly showing any skin, but they're still desireable! If only modern pop stars could learn from this...

  • Nice one. Was actually looking for something done by Rose and Boyd under the name "Spell" but found this instead. Great song!

  • Pure sugar!

  • Such a shame that this didn't chart. The album version has great production. The production doesn't drown out the lovely harmonies though.

  • Oh!!Sweeet!
