  • Gotta love that piano!! ;)

  • Heh heh I got hair that long now and I'm still Bopping Them Blues ;)

  • lmao i havent heard this is so long tyvm:)

  • I had hair that long when I was young, 21 years in the military beople bon't believe me

  • Saved up and bought a compilation LP just to get this song. Then a friend accidently scratched this track, much to my disappointment. I just pulled out my old LPs but can not seem to find this compilation. Who knows where it is...

  • Bit Stevie Marriott sounding that ... good song

  • a whole band of neils !!!!!

  • Love the piano !!

  • The first amplified electric performance I ever saw was a lunchtime concert with Blackfeather at my high school . It cost 50 cents! The next one I saw was when my sister took me to see Little Richard at the Hordern Pav. Cost a lot more, but.

  • There miming

  • The worst song

  • @eddie100 Where is your song then Eddie ?

  • good voice.

  • My 3 year old loves this song and knows every word !!!

    Groovy !!!

  • shits all over the "music" of today. live to TV and recorded then. not mixed and remixed, no swearing and no bloody half naked girls were used to sell the record. In those days the MUSIC sold not the video clip.

  • @slatibaadfast Yes!!!

  • I was a kid when this song come out, but loved it .

l remember thinking the piano was kind of a boring instrument until i heard this.

One of the best piano blues songs ever.

  • crazy !

  • seen this band at Kew club big memories 16 and out of controll!

  • great bands great music great decade sadly missed !!!!

  • wat to cool , thanx

  • some really great memories while watching this film clip,

  • cool song

  • great vocals !

  • i would like to know the names of the line up if anyone can help

  • @dollsndoylies -ok-I recognise Greg Sheehan as the drummer-& he was in band1972-73 so my guess is Tim Piper (guitar) Warren Ward (bass) Paul Wyld (piano) Neale Johns (vcls)

Blackfeather had a huge change in lineup over the years including the legends John Robinson (guitar) Apr 1970 - Aug 71 -Harry Brus (bass, vocals) 1971- Warren Morgan (piano) late 1972- I saw them in 1970 @ Bexley Masonic Hall & got free ride home by the cops after gig as a drunken dickhead in the days when cops were ok !

  • i remember seeing black feather round Sydney night clubs in the mid to late seventy's different line up altogether. I think Jimy Barnes brother was fronting them.

  • The lead sing is the brother of John Denver he works at our drugstore in Ontario.

  • peak !!!

  • this brings back a load of great memories, thank you

  • This band was nothing without the genius of John Robinson! what a sad way to end up after their brilliant debut album

     "AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS"

  • Look at all the long hair FFS! :)

  • Listen to this and then KISS' "Nothin' To Lose". Sounds like the same song!

  • To anybody plays the piano and knows what the pianist is playing with his right hand... it'd be fuckin awesome if you could post an instructional on this song and let me know about it.

I've only been playing for like 4 months but i've excelled pretty fast and know i for sure i got the left hand covered, and i'm pretty sure what he's playing with his right hand is just within my imitations. So if anyone can take a bit of the free time to do that, it'd be much appreciated.

  • The best advice I can give 2 u, sir, is that u keep both ur hands on the keyboards & away from ur genitals.

Otherwise good work keep practising on the keyboards, only.

    :)

  • sounds like im heading to melbourne in march..Pete

  • Those were the days, oh yes they were, we refuse to cut our hair, we let it all hang out. We shivered through midnight backstreets skipping through the darkness into the dawn we let it al hang out, dreamers of the soul, midnight moonlight, we were busy dreaming our dreams waiting for the day, we were busy, so sure it would come; we told ourselves it just had too, logic said it would, and so we danced and skipped through the night until harsh dawn light.
  • Whats he saying after ''the police knocked'' in the second verse?

PS my 2 year old little girl LOVES this song.

  • "I started running for the back door, had the foundations shaking in that old dance hall"

  • Thanks man...took me 20 years to find that out .

  • no worries mate, learnt this song in about grade 4 in music class, still remember the all the words

  • Wow what a flashback. Blakfeather played at the first lunchtime concert that I attended when I went high school (Meadowbank BHS in Sydney). It was the loudest gig I'd heard to that point in my 13 year life. The vibrations of Bopping the Blues resounded through my chest for most of the double period of maths that followed.

  • the drummers name is greg worked with him at woolies hurstville sydney

  • I remember this back in '72 or so. Still have my original 45 of it!

  • And boy,I'd love to hear it,the 45 I mean, Man!......(BlackFeather were a "ripper" of a Group!!! Thanks to all concerned!)

  • I used to love this song ! Have the sheet piano music somewhere. Great to hear it again.

  • I remember when this was a radio song.....classic piano riff.

  • A really very good song

  • The drummer looks like Rafa Nadal XD

  • Must Agree!! An Uncanny resmblance

  • @ekelda - Drummer is Greg Sheehan -all round nice guy & great percussionist originally from Kingsgrove- probably hanging out near Nimbin now.

  • I was born in th 70's and was brought up listening to a lot of good music like this. I've always loved the piano in this song and was totally jealous of my little cuz who can belt this out on her piano.

I love this song and have loved it since the first time I heard, I guess it's something that will always stay with me.

  • You are quite right, the music live is as good as yesterday, so do yourselves a favour and support local home grown talent and go and see LIVE shows!

  • Have the single of this song in my record collection. Love this song!

  • lovely song sung by great band

  • Great stuff Superyob, I remember we went on a school camp 1972 to MT Arappiles in VIC just up the road and we hammered that song the whole time we were there and on the bus there and back home. I also see at the start of the clip is that guy (cant remember his name) who hosted HIT SCENE on the ABC during the late 60's early 70's that was a great aussie music show as well.

  • Dick Williams was the guy who hosted Hit Scene Melbourne's Abc studio. This show ran from 1969 to 1972. Rage played re-runs on few of the Hit Scene shows between 2001-2003 on January's. I wish the team from Rage could dig up more of these from the ABC vaults and put them on Air as they had some very rare music clips during the time. All they seem to show nowadays is Countdown, Rock Arena and Recovery. GTK was also another great show.

  • Thanks dja69, yeah thats the guy, and your right, GTK kicks ass and features heavily in my favorite videos as well, seems like it was only yesterday don't it.

  • thanks ..ah the memories..does anyone remember an aussie band "band of light" ...cant find anything on them

It got pretty rough at times I remember a fair bit of blueing between the boys from different Suburbs Blackburn-Box Hill-Richmond-Doncaster. Still we had great fun..

What about those Sharpie Sheila's - clogs pleated mini skirts - attitudes.....Haha
