  • It seems the back-up singer moves his head like a dove just when he says "...is light as a dove".

  • You just sometimes hit on unpretentious musical integrity. this is such a moment.

  • this is amazing, anyone know what album this tune is from, cant seem to find it is it a B side?

  • If you listen and look back far enough, someone always sounds like someone else. These guys are awesome. Dylan is great. There doesn't need to be a mutual exclusiveness to it. Just enjoy the music.

  • Rosendale, NY's finest :)

  • @Armalite2010 Awesome, but I think they're originally from palenville, ny(the actual brothers). I know they lived in rosendale. Either way, representing for upstate new york. Makes me damn proud :)

  • Truth be told..it sounds like they are trying to hard to sound EXACTLY LIKE Dylan...but I have a migraine right now so.....maybe it's me.I'll listen again before I push post.No..I was right the first time..in fact it's worse then I thought..ugh my head.I like the music, but it just feels like they're trying too hard to reproduce a sound that has been done...and done well I might add :) Thank-you,drive thru and hate me all you want to idc.

  • @justmissj maybe you're thinking about it too much. Ian's voice is naturally hoarse. He doesn't do that on purpose, I've never heard him sing any other way and I've seen them live 5 times. And like clarabellen said above, its very hard to be exclusive, you have to draw from musical past. This is just really good folk music with a singer that happens to be reminiscent of dylan.

  • Haha, we saw the name of the band and since "Felice" is my sister's nickname, we looked them up

    They're awesome!

  • @wtfe20210 For you to say that they aren't Dylan sound-a-likes just tells me that you don't appreciated Dylan or folk music that has been influenced by Dylan. These boys are good, but most of the characteristics of this group are influenced from Dylan. Sure they add some originality of their own, but don't knock people for saying they are sound-a-likes.

  • This is beautiful. The film work really captures the moment. I just love being at moments like this, and it's great to see one of these moments caught so perfectly on camera.

  • Love some Felice brothers. Fucking genius. Every word, every note.

  • they are awesome but id have to give my vote to aj roach for being a better songwriter.

  • big like brothers,

  • 666 likes haha

  • Friday the 9th of December 2011 at the Glasgow ABC might just be the best night ever!!!!

  • fucking amazing

  • what makes these boys and their songs so special is their transparacy and the fact everything is is out there for all to see. no hidden agenda, just honesty. plus ian felice is one of the best song writers of a generation, which is nice to have on your c.v.

  • To me they have a raw quality that I find compelling. I know no comparison. Folk singers tend to turn me off with their sterile clueless patronization of their subjects. The Felice Brothers sing as if they understand that one can have nothing materially yet have a raucous lively down and dirty abundant life.

  • Their new album (Celebration Florida) is interesting. Not bad. But this is The Felice Brothers I really enjoy. I think they enjoy this genre of sounds a bit better. They show more emotion and soul. In my opinion.

  • Does anyone know if there is ANY WAY IN HELL, of getting a hold of a copy of Iantown?????

  • The Dylan reference only comes when you first start listening to these guys. After a while you realize there is very little if any connection to Dylan.

  • This was shot very well. Good job.

  • Bring it on, Charleston Pour House Oct 7th..

  • Band, song, audience, location - far beyond show business. Great video - looking forward to their Munich concert!

  • This song goes well with 9am bourbon

  • Have to admit, that one guy's voice does remind me of Bob Dylan. BUT they have their very own style and charisma so that's where the comparison ends. It's just because Dylan is familiar and people always go back to what's familiar I guess.

  • Majority of people don't know who woody Guthrie is. Saying Dylan Is a Guthrie imposter is like saying the Who are Beatles imposters; they played a similar vein of music (rock'n'roll for this example) but made it their own by expanding. Felice did the same thing with Dylan as Dylan did with Guthrie - also, Felice and Dylan only really share a folk influence; Felice are more a kin to country. The common drool of their similar vocal talents are just a way of singing. A hundred people sang like Dyl

  • the light on the wall it lightens the hall, but the room in the back is quite and black

    mmhm

  • Unlike Dylan, they play to a crowd, a small crowd with social skilis intact. Nice.

  • I don't understand these people calling them Dylan imposters.. people that say things like that must be a bit simple.. Sure you can hear a strong Dylan influence, but why does that have to be regarded as a negative? Awesome band, going to see them in Birmingham UK in December.. can't wait.. p.s what has Lady Gaga got to do with the Felice Brothers? don't slag any type of music off, listen to anything & everything with an open mind. A true musician will hear something good in all styles of music.

  • does anyone know how I get this song in mp3 form or what albm this song is of off? I realy want this song on my mp3 player and can't find it anywhere but youtube.

  • @xcausticgodx just in case you still haven't solved this problem a month later, the song is off their debut album, Iantown :)

  • This is great. Love The Felice Brothers.

Did sound for Simone Felice last year. He is ace as his new band.

  • No they sound alot like Dylan, with instruments like the great Band.

  • shut up about dylan. he has a similar raspy voice. thats it. the music is different the style is different the year is different. I can see more resonable comparison with the band maybe, but the Felice with Simone stood above anyone else i saw live over tha period.

  • "What keeps me alive is the green in your eyes. And the sweet distant drone of your voice on the phone."

    Kills me.

  • one of my favorite songs ever

  • if you listen really close... go on listen... you'll realise that they don't sound like Dylan... they sound like... THE FELICE BROTHERS! A gruff voice doesn't mean Dylan

  • Dont need a crowd to play beautiful music too. . wow :)

  • I seen them last year in Belfast superb, i love this song

  • 8 people are deaf...

  • So was this at the end of a festival. It reminds me of the Philly fest when almost everyone is gone. What a treat for the people there.

  • dylan imposters

  • @rnwepc

    Fuck. I hate you.

  • @rnwepc people probably said Dylan was a Guthrie imposter when he first appeared on the scene, but how ridiculous does that sound now? Grow a brain..

  • @paddyatthedisco94 shhhhhhhhhhhhh ut the fuck up

  • They have a new album due out soon (cant remember when) and they are touring. Coming to Madison!!!

  • cant find this song on any of the albums

  • @charlton46 It's on Iantown, which is out of print. You should be able to find it online though.

  • Come to Canada!

  • Man their lives seems to be so easy when I look at them. It seems like they live the life of freedom I've always wanted.

  • A++ Great Job!!

  • this is just really really good ... heartfelt and good ! thank you.

  • This is just beautiful

  • yo guys whats goin on . my friend in my band just came out with a song. Its called Joe Pocsi, ITS IN MY VIDEOS . Check it out and give it a listen please!!!! im not trying to spam just trying to get it more known. thanks !!!!

    PLEASE LISTEN TO IT!!

  • People Downtown Sure Are Friendly- Pony Boy please listen to it, its me and my brother we're alot like the felice bro's. first song and its almost like a one hit wonder except our songs will always be good

  • I took these guys to the cornbury music fest, and take them back to heathrow l8r that night, or should i say morning!! they were the most wonderfull "group" i ever transported. I was sitting in on both sessions, the evening was the better one as the sun was setting. A one off experience i will never forget.

  • I really like the music, lyrics and his voice. The look like they just came off of a 24 hour meth trip.

  • @hopulikit22 haha probly are it looks like they';ve also just smoked a bit of pot tho to help with the comedown and now there just floating

  • Having been to a Felice Bros show, all these Dylan remarks floor me. I KNOW that Dylan is rightfully considered the epitome of American songwriting, but these boys stand their own ground, beat their own drum, and by damn, dance to it any freaking way they please. Give them accolades for being awesome songwriters and musicians, not Dylan sound-a-likes.

  • @wtfe20210 agreed and well put.

  • @wtfe20210 no doubt... Also, Dylan created a sound and also copied a sound... Dylan popularized a sound that existed before in the south.

  • @dillonfreed EXACTLY!

  • @wtfe20210 nice words, but no.. they're really not doing anything original at all.

  • @aroneous My first thought when I read your comment was- you cannot possibly have listened to them LIVE...been to a show one night when the Felice Brothers are really ON. Maybe I am wrong, perhaps you have. But if originality is in question, everything is derivitive of SOMETHING. Here, you are hearing a mix of Catskill Balladeering and slowed down Zydeco. Catskill Zydeco? Maybe I just coined a term...think so. Elvis, during the comeback special, talked about the origins of rock (gospel, etc) So?

  • it is out of this world - it is in the countryside... cleaner than shit and down to earth

  • it is out of this world - it is in the countryside...

  • @Protan0Dano prolly just friends, dude.

  • since when is this what a hippie is? the felice brothers are awesome, but not hippie.

  • Sweet American Sound & soul

  • this is stunning. thank you very much. the song is beautiful, it is performed beautifully.

  • Beautiful, The main singer is a lucky man.

  • this might be the best piece of music on youtube.

  • Hippies are amazingg

  • fukin hippie fest lol

  • great music thanks

  • Thanks for capturing. This is magic.

  • I couldn't love a song more than I love this song. And I couldn't love a band more than I love The Felice Brothers for that matter. The only thing thing this video is missing is Greg Farley. :/

  • @hannahlauren111 just saw them in Poughkeepsie for Halloween and they ended the show with this one....then came back on for a 3 song encore!!! amazing!!!

  • My smile is forever continues. c:

  • some of their electric guitar work sounds a bit like some of the stuff from the Basement Tapes. Which is Robbie Robertson, not dylan. I fail to see any other similarity to dylan, lyrics are nothing at all like something he'd write. Felice Bros. are a great band, but I don't see any similarity to dylan.

  • @eirigh I totally agree with you!

  • I have some advice for you people, go listen to some Dylan. Maybe the guitar in some of the live versions of Frankie's Gun are reminiscent of some off the stuff from the Basement taps, but that ain't Dylan, that's the Band or Robbie Robertson to be exact.

  • Contemporary Americana at its best. Thank you guys for keeping the tradition alive and making it new. I hear New York, louisiana and nashville at the same time. Wonderful songwriting and extraordinary harmony. I will see you soon at HSB in SF '10. Can't wait!

  • Something about the guitarist reminds me of barney from "how I met your mother".

  • This live version is so much better than the version on the album. Can you get this version somewhere?

  • @durrutti Hey! Which album is this on?

    Thanks

    J

  • @ThatContainerGuy It seems to be from the iantown album as far as i can tell. You can hear it if you click on the second video from the top on the right ------------------------------------------>

  • This really is too damn good!

  • is this available anywhere for download? i love this song

  • Them with "Tallest Man On Earth" Ultimate Dylan sounding artists. Now only if they'd get together and cover a classic together......*sigh*

  • beautiful.

  • This is really great thanks for putting this up!

  • Soooooooooooooooooooooo #*!$#! awesome!

  • Did Dylan "copy" Woody Guthrie?

  • (sorry for my english) Stop with Dylan and ur analyses (Lester Bangs is dead, And Bob almost...).Just listen like "The Brothers" enjoy to play, live together and drink cheap whisky and beers !

    FUCK LADY GAGA !!!!!!!

  • @TheTokyoplastic Yes,fuck lady gaga

  • @TheTokyoplastic no disrespect to Lady Gaga. Never that bro.

  • @TheTokyoplastic evan williams whisky for the win!!!! lol

  • This is what music is supposed to sound like...pure

  • anyone know where i can download this ? it's an amazing song

  • Less is more. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks

  • looks like they work at Philmont

  • Looks like there in the middle of nowhere.

  • big crowd

  • Whoa, the resemblance is striking between the singer and Orlando Bloom. Just saying...

  • best live show i've ever f ing seen!!! the bros rock

  • Why is the most common statement " They sound like bob dylan". so what ! Bob is great and so are the felice bros. must we always compare one with the other? What makes an artist great is their individuality. Its more great music thats all. The brothers are probably tired of hearing that crapp. i know i am.

  • @gerry410

Yeah I read an interview and they got pretty annoyed at the suggestion the Basement tapes may be an influence. "We've never even heard The Basement Tapes!!" or something of that ilk

  • @gerry410 I think you've gotten it wrong there, I would never ever ever tire of being compared to Dylan. That would be one of the greatest compliments, considering he is one of the greatest artists of all time. I'm sure 'the brothers' would most definitely know that...

  • People who can make beautiful music like this without a perfect voice (debatable lol) prove autotune useless and it makes me smile.

  • felice brothers own everything

  • Reminds me of Bob Dylan... And my bro lmao :D

  • @SophieUnderrwood i thought the same thing! about bob dylan and my brother!

  • does anyone have this song that could email it to me?? I have looked everywhere but cant find it

  • if you just google an mp3/youtube converter you can just convert this video, its really simple

  • does anybody have this song that could email it to me?? so hard to find it anyhwere

  • lead singer looks like a cross between Orlando Bloom and Jeremy Davies.

Anyone know if there is a studio recorded version in existance ANYWHERE on the net?

  • @jackleemate i can't find one anywhere, such a good song.

  • this reminds me so much of old dylan. its amazing though

  • When I first heard it I was 100% sure it was Dylan aswell

  • @dannysan5 I thought the exact same! =]

  • my new favourite band... holly bejesus how i not seen this wit me dirty mind b54 now? aksk me wy

  • its good to see the bros in this kind of setting--usually its in a hall with rowdy ass people talking and shouting-not giving a damn about their music--these guys are good

  • who is the guy in the background with the facial hair and hat? i've never seen him before.

  • @brianbeer James Felice

  • @brianbeer Oh, the other hatted man...sorry for pointing out the obvious.

  • is it this mysterious "searcher" character?

  • beautiful music.

  • ohh man this is amazing

  • Dios! me encantan!

  • This is not only a great song it is also, BY FAR, the best live mix of any Felice Brothers song on Youtube. I'd love to be proven wrong, but most live Felice Brothers that is recorded sounds like ass. Thank god for this so we can truly appreciate the awesomeness.

  • this is awesome, song is beautiful, wish i had been there!

  • I have the song on an album, but I LOVE this version... where can I get this version so that I can listen to it ALWAYS!??? LOL

  • What album is it on?

  • It's on Iantown - great album, though out of print.

  • @MsMFirefly just google mp3 youtube converter and it will convert it for you...fast and simple

  • these guys have that so called x factor, with as much charisma as they have talent. i wish i could get myself original copies of "iantown" and "the adventures..."

  • REAL.

  • gives me goosebumps every single time oh man

  • Magic.

  • great... really great... perfect in fact...

  • really good. have they ever recorded this for an album?

  • Yes, but its for the there "Iantown" album. which is out of print..........its terrible compared to this version though :0

  • @panchovans yeah i think to an out of print album called iantown.

  • The perfect evening, the perfect song...just one of those moments where it seems that everything in the world makes sense. Thanks to whoever filmed this.
