  • well you've eat scoobie?:) was the scoobie tuned? was it on a track?:) i doubt it:) i love volvo cars but to be honest: i own volvo and i had subaru - both are great but for some reasons i miss my subie much and i doub't i will miss my volvo that much

  • my dar has got an 855 R 340 bhp rocket an for you none Volvo fans 855 means estate

  • volvofunclub [dot] com

  • you can put a old big engine in a old big car whit a dyno 3-400 hp still on a street race a small brand new fiesta st will take u down although it has less then half of your dyno hp try a race whit a small new car and u will be ammesed how back you will remain specially on a track whit difficult curves

  • haha i love that color its same as mine. and when i accelerate it sounds like its taking off too, gotta love the inline 5 puts out so much more power than what ppl expect u can eat a bunch of type of cars alive with it and still stay low on cops radar

  • Arguing about HP/BHP is pointless because people use different correction factors to calculate with. I've never had a FWD car with more than 13% frictional loss. That makes my 239whp/263wtq T5 approx. 270hp/297tq. That's a 17.9psi tune and a full 3" turbo-back. There's no way the car in this video is making more than 225@wheels...likely less. Get an exhaust on that thing!

  • good to see someone else with an old school swede! Mine's practically the same except red - it has also dyno'd 300 and 310 with minimal tweaks and a remap. Just a shame I only use it for trackdays as I can't find anyone daft enough to insure it for the road...

  • however guys diss it all you like

    I know the figures

I know it goes off the end of the speedo top end (150mph) gps verified

I know it will eat a scooby and the focus st

so thats all I am worried about :)

  • @t5tart he will never eat a focus st, never on the road...

  • @t5tart Yo dude, exactly. EAT a scooby and spit the damn thing out.

I got the best compliment the other day from a girl at the office the other day; She said, and I quote roughly

"Hey, do you drive a yellow Volvo?"

    "Uh, why? Who's asking?"

"well my boyfriend and his 2 mates are really pissed of because you keep burning them off. My boyfriend has a WRX and his mates have a Mark 1 WRX & GTi. They're not happy"

"thank you" I said, I'm actually pleased to hear that. =P

    VOLVO POWER!

  • ok enuff fellas

who said it has only had a remap ...this was after the second remap

its had a lot of other work done also

as for a dodgey remap... whoever posted that ever heard of a RICA remap... probably not ..but its the best one going or the T5 and I know I have had a couple

    envy is a terrible thing

if you actually knew what you were talking about then maybe just maybe you would have some credibility

  • Around 270 flywheel if the car is running good..

  • we just picked up a 95 with the 2.3L turbo (non R). What websites should I be looking at for them other than IPD?

  • whats the difference brtween BHP and HP? is there any difference?

  • HP=Horse Power and BHP= Brake Horse Power... dont know the rest... :P

  • BHP is brake horse power, which is measures at the flywheel, not counting the losses through the transmission. HP is horse power, which can be BHP or wheel horsepower. Though true power is WHP, because thats what the car puts down to the road.

  • So...umm...posting a dyno vid without HP info? Come on man, that's pointless. What did it make?

  • um the vid is called 300bhp volvo 850 t5 dyno run there it stay 300 BHP idiot

  • Yeah they do. At 0:43 when they let off the throttle, and it spins freely, the dyno calculates the drivetrain losses by sensing the friction caused.

  • @seanwilliams78 so fucking what? its 300 Brake Horse power, what more do u want Horsepower at wheel or flywheel!?

  • @espis97 Wow...you're retarded. My point was, it's nowhere near 300 BHP...it's closer to 250-260 BHP.

  • @seanwilliams78 no, im not a retard, so just fuck off, if u did know it was near 250-260 BHP why u ask then !?

  • @espis97 I didn't ask anything...what are you smoking, guy?! Read my comment below.

  • @seanwilliams78 1, i'am not smoking... 2, i don't really care anymore. cant we just give shit both of us and just be nice to eachoter?

  • @espis97 Yes. I love you. You wanna bone?

  • @seanwilliams78 haha, i can be ur bone ! :D

  • @espis97 not right there

  • ive got same car... and is the best car in the world

  • You lot really aint got a clue, this car on a real rolling road, not the rolling road who sold him the dodgy re-map, would only every make 280 @ flywheel. And stock rods on these 850 can handle a max of 18psi safely, which even with a 19t will give you 330bhp!

  • Excellent comment xxbyxx101. You are indeed spot on the money with that comment. To anyone who thinks they have 300bhp from a re-amp alone have been lied to by the garage. 260-275bhp is the absolute max from a chip and map.

Mine has been full stage-0'd, custom mapped and chipped, full catless performance system, moddified induction and panel filter and MBC. At a guess I would say i'm likely to be getting 290bhp max. Anymore than this is redundant in these cars anyway.

  • Can you imagine what would it do if it fell down? It would spin the earth the other way. :)

  • I love the way it hunkers down like that, only cars with true power and torque can do that! Is it a scooby muncher?

  • SOunds like its taking off heh.

  • It would have had it not been strapped down

  • Heh, nice work. Love the damn things. Hope to purchase one next year

  • Plenty of low end grunt, but I bet you could make a lot more power with a different turbo.

Something that boosts 1000-1500 rpm later.

  • the rods will only take about 500 bhp in standard trim

I prefer the olow down grunt to eat scoobys :)

  • You have an excellent street/sleeper/daily driver car there. Agreed.

But you are nowhere near what the stock rods will take.

  • volvo power! :)

  • with afew mods ;)

  • Is this just a re-map or do you have other mods?

  • my dad has a 95' 310hp t5-R green estate it runs well

  • ??? T5-R never came in green...

  • Actually it did come in green, in a very small number.

  • it did indeed come in green a deep olive green

  • who says it is R ?

  • yup the r only run a lil bit more boost for longer

  • I think it was more boost for 15 seconds was the main difference giving a bhp difference of about 15bhp under full boost.

Though iirc bigger brakes, uprated suspension and a different interior were also fitted to the R/T5R over the T5.

  • @23453456345

yes bugger brakes lower suspension ( thi s one has those mods) also bigger turbo and remapping higher boost on the r to the standart t5

  • they're the same thing aren't they, stil a 2.3L turbo

  • yea they are

  • The 850r's r still much betta than a 850t5's.

  • they're the same thing aren't they, stil a 2.3L turbo

  • no, the T5-R and the R version are the same. The T5-R was made in 1995, and then discontinued, so then the R version was made in 1996

  • Same head and block some ECU changes and more boost - t5 standard=225bhp T5-R=240bhp (manual box) 850R= 250bhp. The T5-R is a limited edition available only in yellow, green or black where as the T5 and the R are main stream models. The R is very similar the T5-R in spec and performance - no yellow paint though! :(

  • i always thought they were the same. i did not know that the t5r was a special edition because didn't they only make them in 1995? i also didn't know that the t5r came in green.

  • Yep - only made for a year in conjunction with TWR to celebrate BTCC successes - The green was a dark olive like colour and is the rarest of the three followed by black with most being yellow - Of course it may have been different in the states I'm talking about UK cars here - Either way they're all awesome! - I'm looking to buy another in 2008 - I sold my 96 T5 and boy do I regret it!

  • yea. i used to have a 95 glt in the green color... i want to get another. maybe an R version though. I already have one in mind ;)

  • Lol weirdest thing my brother just explained to me the whole T5 and R like just yesterday but yeah thanks thats cool so i understand the whole thing sorta now its 95s Turbo and T5-R than 96 produced the Turbo and GLT? then 97 was the turboGLT, T5, and R?? something like that i think iono but thanks for the info learn something new every day lol

  • 1993 glt

    1994glt, turbo, t5

    1995 glt, turbo, t5, t5r

    1996 glt, turbo, R

    1997 glt, turbo, R

Im not so sure if it's right, but that's how i remember it

  • spot on
