Danny Glover's performance was something else. He did an amazing job at making me [and plenty of other people, I'm sure] just despise his character. I can't stand men like Mister. He's such a creep, it's not even funny. A damn pedophile. Plus he's abusive towards poor Celie. Alice Walker was criticized in her career for giving what many considered to be an unfair potrayal of men in her books, but there is some truth in her potrayals. Men like this existed and still do exist, unfortunately.

@EntustinMeYourLife i'm a man too (or better a guy), but i'm like the others. my dad left my mom when i wasn't even born. my mom had 2 take care of me and even herself, because her family hadn't enough to eat. there were like 12 people in one 4-roomed house. since i found out about my dad. i swear to myself to not hurt a women in any way or 2 leave her because she's pregnant - even if it were an 1 nightstand. my mom had suffered a lot that he left her and me too.
