  • J. Courtney's '84 return as Alice (after nearly a decade's absence) might have boosted AW more had the actress been given something to do. With Rachel mellowed and Iris then off the canvas, the writers probably should have steered Alice in a more villainous direction. As Loving's Diane Winston in '87, Courtney showed that she could play meaner.

  • I agree... losing Jacquie Courtney TWICE was unforgiveable! Though she wasn't liked by Rauch & Lemay, I so admired her soulful acting and ability to convey so much with her eyes. Loved her chemistry with Robin Thomas (Mark Singleton), George Reinholt (Steven Frame) and Vicky Wyndham (Rachel). Such a waste :(

  • @LOLOLUTHER jackie courtney died on dec 20th

  • FINALLY, people who agree that Alice was such an important part of the story. They really screwed up when they let Jacqueline Courtney. This second appearance that year gave me hope we would see her more...but that never happended. That room is packed with history: Russ, Liz, Clarie, Larry, Ada, Alice, the Corys, Mitch.

  • Firing Jacqueline Courtney and George Reinholt in 1975 was like if General Hospital had fired Genie Frances and Tony Geary in 1981. And not to mention killing off Mary Matthews, the patriarch.

  • The 25 years of Another World's history to this point in time (1989) are all present in this one classic clip. What a great performance from Carmen Duncan as Iris grieving for her father on-screen and acting partner off-screen. Also memorable is the final Another World appearance of Jacquie Courtney. This show would still be on the air if the characters of Iris and Alice had remained on the program along with Victoria Wyndham's Rachel.

  • I soooo agree with you. I have friend who is a writer on of the soaps on now. I am often told how the new headwriters often don't care about history. "They come in with the ego of it being their show now and they want do as they please". It's really sad for the fans. If AW had went back into it's history with characters like Alice (played Jacquie, the show would still be on. I always wanted to see teenage Kevin (Sally's son).

  • I loved this scene between Alice and Rachel. It was so great seeing Jacquie. I would love to know what she's doing now.

  • I think the scene between Alice and Rachel is very touching.. they both lost the love of their lives.

  • ANOTHER WORLD in the 80s & 90s desperately needed Jacqueline Courtney.
