  • I hate when assholes can't pronounce Nevada.

  • Barnes kinda looks like Carl Edwards

  • Barnes looked a little nervous from the beginning. I think he knew he was in trouble the way she went through the field.

  • Women can now join the men's tour. Can the men join the women's?

  • @Kidlat432 Since there is no women's tour, no.

  • @StefanyNunchucks I'm so behind having been away from the bowling world for 13 years. What ever happened to the LPBT?

  • @Kidlat432 it became the PWBA. But that ended up folding in 2003 due to lack of corporate sponsership.

  • Oops, a thousand pardons! Irishpogi didn't post this... one of the comments was still fresh in my mind.

  • Irishpogi sure posts some great stuff! Although this isn't one, it certainly shows the PBAs willingness to fudge in hopes of a desired outcome. Now that they got it every title match will be up for scrutiny.

  • Kulick's approach is the same as mine! :D

  • This is awesome, theres not many sports where the men and the women compete against each other, fair play PBA fair play =D x

  • Man I'm not a barnes fan....................

  • what is the patterns

  • @papalo1111 The pattern used in this tournament is a special 39-footer. Based on the two styles of Kulick and Barnes, it takes an up-the-back roll to get all 10.

  • kelly rules shes my idol i always study her before i go bowling but anywho she is amazing and i hope someday i'm as good as her

  • I think the reason why Kelly had so much success in this tournament was her entire approach. Her high backswing gives speed, but with a lot less effort. This helps her ball match up with the oil better than Barnes'.

  • thanks for ruining the ending... lol jk

  • she threw the ball wayyyy better than barnes did. and she played the lanes right by keeping her speed down.

  • She did great I use to bowl with her and against her in Linden Majors and Jersey Lanes as well as the occasional regional and she always kept up with the boys and is a great person so all you haters need to check your ego at the door! Plus she can probally fix your car for you also what more could you want out of a "chic" ?

  • The stars were in line for her that day. Congrats on beating the men. She was hitting the pocket all day and got the carry no one else did. Keep it up Kelly.

  • thank for posting

  • Thanks for posting this. As I said for Part 2, this has to be the "feel good" story of the year in sports so far. I am so sick of hearing about Tiger, Tiger, and more Tiger. It is good to cheer for someone again. Way to go Kelly and thanks again for posting this.

  • One last thing. Didn't Billy Jean King beat a couple of male pros? Sorry Kel you are 3 decades short of ''making history.'' Gag me with a spoon.

  • @ThePattycake1313

Come back when you can stop being so damn condescending. Grow up.

  • You all need to stop saying "...not to take anything away from Kelly..." because that's exactly what you're doing. Just be honest. Competing on equal footing with the guys, she won and you can't handle it. It's time to evolve, boys....

  • Whoopde do. One woman won one PBA tourney, big deal. l have a 200 avg. And bowled an 800 and threw a 298 game. (choke l know). I have won tourneys, and lost plenty. And have been in tourneys, where a girl won. Its bowling, not baseball or football. When a woman hits 35 homeruns then its a bigdeal, then history will be made. ln my opinion its rather pathetic it took 8 years for 1 woman "to make history.'' Gag me with a spoon.

  • get over yourself, you're just a typical house bowler

  • You need to stop talking because i have not seen you on TV bowling for the title. its easy to run your mouth. i average 200 to but you dont see me talking crap.

  • and wow talk bout her 4th strike wat a crappy kick out it should have been a 1 pin leave not a strike UGLY

  • shes a good bowler but she got lucky and barnes got bad breaks like the 1st shot he left2 and she got a strike. shes good but she jus got more lucky breaks

  • thats what this sport is about, you take the breaks when they come

  • If there is anyone to "blame", I believe it is the technology. Today a 14 pound ball can hit just as hard as a 16 pound ball where it was never like that back in the day. In reality, you don't need a Men and Women's league...everyone is throwing on the same pattern.

  • I believe that everyone needs to see the KATS...she repeated every shot. Isn't that was bowling is supposed to be about? I don't think she got lucky; lets be real, Chris has contiually CHOKED on TV beginning from last year. He has has maybe one bad break but he seems to not be able to deliver anymore when he is on television. Randy reminded us all about how Chris has given up 50 pin leads to lose. Kelly delivered when she had to...she did what she was supposed to.

  • its CATS I do believe and that system is just awesome. If you watch Kelly's shots at the break point (40 feet down the lane near the tracer boards) she is dead on, on just about every shot, even the 4th frame late trip. The 5th frame she was a touch wide causing the flat 7-10 which was deserved if you ask any professional. Excellent performance and flawless technique by Kelly. Congrats!

  • @sumtwig07 I completely see what you are getting at with every shot she threw being over the same target. All of her shots were crossed that dark board at 40 ft. and the shot that left the 7-10 was about 2 boards to the right at the breakpoint. No real chance to miss target on a sport shot and get away with murder. That would be possible on a house shot, but not on a sport shot. But, ALL props go to Kelly for beating the guys.

  • Don't take this the wrong way... but i believe she got lucky, Barnes kept getting really bad breaks even on some of his good shots, which ended up working to her advantage.

  • she did good, but the only problem i have now, is how can they her into the mens league, yet a man isnt allowed in the womens league, even in high school, if theres only 1 girl for a team and a full guys team, the girl can bowl with the guys, but if theres only one guy and a full girls team, then they say too bad you cant play for a girls team

  • Also this Women's world series of bowling is still not a real PBA title just another gimick that allowed her to bowl and still takes credibility away from those who won when it was still the real PBA tour not this circus side show that these goofballs who own the PBA today have made it. Again not taking anything away from Kulick winning, it is not her fault that the sport has become as desperate as it has, but if you look back it all began with lane blocking at the house level....

  • Bottom line not taking anything away from her winning, but if this is her first PBA title, don't you first have to be a PBA champion before you can bowl in the Tournament of Champions??? Really does take something away from us guys who when we won had to do that first before we made it to Riveria Lanes. In a way I'm kind of glad that I gave up my PBA card when these guys took over the PBA because the direction they have taken it is anything but positive.....

  • Larry Lichstein, former player services director for the PBA had told me a while ago that Mike Berlin won the regional players invitational event held in Minot, North Dakota back in 1976. That made him eligible for the 1977 Firestone. Low and behold, Mr. Berlin's first national tour title was the 1977 Firestone Tournament of Champions held in Akron, Ohio. His next national title was a doubles crown with the late Jimmy Certain [1978].

  • @irishpogi Very, very interesting. They always talked about Berlin being the first "rookie" to win the Firestone... I thought that just meant he did it by winning in his first year eligible.

Didn't they count the RPI as a PBA title back then, though? I know when Mark Roth won his record 8 titles, the last one was the RPI, IIRC.

  • dont get me wrong nation is good but i dont believe she could have done what kelly has done.... and it wasnt her it would be johnsons, barns, pluhowsky, or feldman

  • I may be a sap(well yes I am) I cried when she won. It is a piece of history

  • thanks for posting this!!! yey for all the women bowlers out there!!!

  • Great achievement by kulick but i just dont like her! Why cant it be nation or someone else

  • Because Stefanie didn't win the Women's World Championships. Kelly did.

  • All Stephanie had to do was win the world championship at the World Series of Bowling, then she would have been there

  • @paradigmata Cause Nation isnt in kulicks league
