Some states(very few Nevada/Texas) have "Land Patents" or "Allodial Titles" check it out. For instance George W. Bush really owns his land in an Allodial title.. It's not taxable, and his family can never lose the property. He also has full rights to do whatever he wants, drill for oil, mine for gold, whatever... doesn't need permits or government permission. In the early US days most land was this way. Quite sad how the state can just claim all the land, or the fed gov.

According to the talking head; the government changed the common law three times. Once to allow you to own the land then to just own the house. Some time to allow a woman to inherit the land/house and then back to just owning the house. My house and property are paid off but the local government owns it. Why? Because if I stop paying my rent (property taxes) they will send the sheriff by and evict me, sell THEIR house and keep all the money. Not just what I owe in back taxes, but all the money.

Land Patents are held or accepted by the Bureau of Land Management. You're gonna need to have a quitclaim deed and a warranty deed to back up your rights to the land, then after a private survey of the property you have to file a 'declaration' of land patent in your name, and file it with the BLM. This is only a brief idea on the steps to take to obtain one, but it could be different in every state, and Lord knows how cooperative Uncle Sam will want to be....

This guys does not know what he is talking about. Real estate is property. When you enter a mortgage contract all you are contracting is the property appurtenant to the land. Land can only be granted. The Title to Land is the Land Patent and is necessary to secure your ownership of the Land. Almost all of the Land in the United States of America is patented. However, one must have current deed and chain of title back to the patent to prove that they are an heir or assign to the patent.

You do not understand land law. Most all of the land in the United States of America is patented. The chain of title links an owner to the land patent. The President is the one who grants patents not Congress. You have not done your research but have relied on third party sources.

It is my understanding that property taxes are based on property value, and the money goes to pay for garbage pick up, city sewer, city water, public schools, public pools, public libraries, public parks, public resources and public utilities (street lights, sidewalk). I have not heard that property taxes are for anything besides things that are provided to you/for you.  If you have other info, please send it to me. Thanks.

75% of my 2,500 dollars per year goes toward school taxes. The constitution has no provision for educating the children by the government. It never was considered a right of man. Please go to the "John Gatto" web site and read his free book on "forced public schooling." You'll love this free book.

Is the federal government collecting this tax and spending it? No, it isn't.

The 10th Amendment reserves all powers not delegated to the federal to the several States or the people.

The federal Constitution does not address the potential limits of State powers beyond a few very specific forbidden Powers that a State may not utilize.

If your State Constitution allows the establishment of a public school system then the applicable Constitution does indeed have a provision for public education.

For garbage pickup, city sewer, and city water, all that is paid directly as part of the water bill. Street lights are paid from a portion of your electric bill (fees and taxes).
