I think it's a bit harsh to say that Hans Zimmer should "die" because of the way he writes music. Synthesized or not, he still has many gorgeous soundtracks. Williams is a great classic movie composer, while Zimmer is more modern. A lot boils down to the times these composers live in. During Williams' time, computers existed, but we didn't rely on them like we do today. Zimmer uses them as a modern twist on classic stuff. They're both awesome, just products of different times.
@Rkmajora@Rkmajora A very talented film composer, who has written some very classy music for well known films in his own right:. Try looking up his background on wikipedia for example.
I Love Both John Williams And Trevor Jones Greatly, But You Know What's Better Than "John Williams Vs. Trevor Jones??? "John Williams And Trevor Jones"!!! If They Teamed Up And Wrote Music Together, It Would Be Epic!!!
John Williams is far far on the top!!! To compare hans zimmer with him is not only ridiculous, it is blasphemy!!! hans zimmer has much more to learn, especially how to organise his orchestra and what parts at what time it should play! oh, of course, he doesnt have orchestra!!! hahaha, his making music on computer! :))) John Williams in his music includes every single section of the orchestra!!! He is, for those who don't know, successor of the great Richard Wagner! he improved leitmotifs!!!
@Darko96054 I agree, some people think that Hans Zimmer is way better than John Williams, just because he can, in the view of most people do better action/epic soundtracks, but the truth is, John can beat Hans by a long shot when it comes to everything else - hapiness, grief, mystery, comedy, and wonder. What I would like to see is Hans and John work together on a score. That way the score would have the best of all types of music.
@freddiehangoler I'm with animefan189, I think both composers are good, but just because Zimmer composes in a different musical style doesn't mean he is a terrible composer.
Before you call someone a "stupid man", maybe you should capitalize and punctuate your sentences correctly.
@rcassina Hans Zimmer is great, especially The Battle from Gladiator. The difference between the two is that when you hear a score from Zimmer, you can tell it's him because of the style. The heavy aggressive low voices and just that Zimmer feel. When you hear Williams, you can tell it's Williams because it's just great music to listen to as well as being played on screen, and not to mention the themes and melodies that keep you humming and whistling them far after you've first heard the song.
This is an example of what is called "temp tracking". Filmmakers nearly always mix temporary music (which is usually music from other film scores) into a film to give their composer an idea of the type of music they think appropriate.
Often -- too often really -- filmmakers get carried away, and tell the composer "We want something just like this!" Obviously this is the case here.

@Darko96054
do agree! Hans Zimmer should die with his gay cubase orchestration
and Williams is more of a successor to Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Stravinsky then Wagner
cheers

You're right. But I prefer the soundtracks to Gladiator, The Lion King and Black Hawk Down :)

Who cares. Trevor Jones beats the piss out of John Williams. John Williams music is kinda gay.
