@jackalopegto You are correct about the a71 grill but in 72 malibus had the 2 bars that went across and malibus with the SS package had a completely black grill with the SS emblem. In this case he kept the malibu grill and put 2 holes in it and popped an SS emblem in.

Actually, 71 and 72 Chevelle grilles are totally different. The 71 has only one horizontal bar while the 72 has two! Any one can dress up they're grille with trim, SS or not! I like em either way.

STI, S4, S6, R8, Lambo's, GT-R, and Porsche all can destroy most domestics from a dig stock vs. stock. My Viper is a VERY capable car from a dig; however, hooking up is almost a 50/50 chance in first on a dry day. Now, if your idea of an import is a civic, then I agree with you.

The only good thing about a big block is that Tq.. Fucking 454 with about 500hp would damn near brake your fucking neck. My 69 camaro got a 430hp 350 in it and that fucker ant worth a damn. But I got the wrong set of gears in the rear end anyway. But In the future im gunna slap a 550hp 396 bbc in the basterd with a 4 speed and a 12 posi with 3:73 gears. Now that will be scary as hell.

older cars like the chevells and GTO's were so heavy it took a lot of HP and then on top of that they didnt have low ass end gears they needed which would have killed there long distance trip driving so you couldnt have both back then like you can now with 6 and 7 speed trans,my 94 Z28 has the 6 speed and I gaurantee it will eat a true bone stock 1966 GTO no doubt about it,99% of all races are lost in the first 100 feet,its all in the launch and take off and a big heavy car didnt have it.,,

I have a 67 chevelle with a L-79 327/350h,p and it will kill a 454 chevelle....well if it didn't have a LS6 454/450h.p but a regular 454 no problem.

The only good thing about a big block is that Tq.. Fucking 454 with about 500hp would damn near brake your fucking neck. My 69 camaro got a 430hp 350 in it and that fucker ant worth a damn. But I got the wrong set of gears in the rear end anyway. But In the future im gunna slap a 550hp 396 bbc in the basterd with a 4 speed and a 12 posi with 3:73 gears. Now that will be scary as hell.

believe me the chevelle tried as hard as it could brother,,technology back then is about a 3rd what it is now,,a 1966 GTO would go 0 to 60 in 7 or 8 seconds and my bone stock 1994 camaro Z-28 6 speed will go 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds,,,the horsepower was high in the old days but hell they were pulling a army tank as far as weight like the big chevells and road runners that weighed twice what a modern day car weighs,,power to weight is the key brother.

well old buddy i could be wrong but you had 2 choices back in the 60's,,take off or top in,,all they had was 3 and 4 speeds which cannot develope the torq the newer cars have today even with the old ones having higher HP,,if your dads 66 will run 0 to 60 in 5.5 then the rear end has been changed whether you know it or not,,in the old days if a chevelle had 400 hp it probbaly wasnt putting 100 of it on the ground due to the rear end gears,,to be continued.

thats why todays bike will smoke the old ones,the new croch rockets have it all man,,they have high HP,,super high rpm range,,multiple gear boxs and huge wide tires and weight tranfer equal to the space shuttle and torq out of this world,,,almost any croch rocket you see has nascar quality inside and the old bikes and old cars didnt have that,,I have a 1980 AMC spirit with a monster 350 chevy and muncie 4 speed and 410 gears and its like riding a big bike and will break your neck,to be continued

older cars like the chevells and GTO's were so heavy it took a lot of HP and then on top of that they didnt have low ass end gears they needed which would have killed there long distance trip driving so you couldnt have both back then like you can now with 6 and 7 speed trans,my 94 Z28 has the 6 speed and I gaurantee it will eat a true bone stock 1966 GTO no doubt about it,99% of all races are lost in the first 100 feet,its all in the launch and take off and a big heavy car didnt have it.,,
