This video makes the whole jumping so logical! And thanks for telling that it took you so long time to get it right! It makes me understand that is WILL happen, rather later than sooner..hehe
i have no problem holdning up my legs towards the chest, neither to stand balancing on hands only, but it does feel like my legs are quite tall. Or my arms too short. I can do this while standing on the fingers without the plam touching the floor. As soon as i touch the floor with my palms many similar movements are restricted. It does feel weird in my joints in my hands. I have done a lot of Kettlebell also, might this have anything to do with it?
really nice tutorial on this. My main problem is that I cannot pull the knees up close to the chest in that first step the way Daylene does here - and that inability seems to make the rest of the sequences not happen (at least as cleanly as shown here). Any suggestions for how to work on this part. Not sure where the tightness/restriction is coming from. Forward bends are pretty open.
@mark55223 I've never done kettlebells so I'm not familiar with that. It sounds like you might need to warm up your wrists a little before trying the movement. Then it also sounds like it might just take more time going through the movements and exercises. It took me five years of working six days a week before the jumping back starting to make sense--it sounds like it's closer for you, but I would keep practicing, keep the faith and keep your wrists flat on the ground ;-)
Thank you Kino... Your clips are what finally prompted me to take action and seek out an Ashtanga teacher, and I'm so glad I did! This tutorial and all the other's are just great... Thank you!
