  • 5:38 he was playin for John and Geroge

  • I can hardly imagine what it would have been like being a tourist in NYC that day.. walking by and this starting up!! ... nice surprise, eh'?

  • Lennon would have liked this....

  • Goodness, it's strange to see Paul performing Beatles tunes without the other Beatles. Got slightly emotional.

  • Paul is such a free spirit on the stage, Always looks much happier and alive! He was born to do this till his very last day. Oh But please live forever Paul, The music world would crumble if you leave us! Forever Live The Beatles!

  • FANTASTICO,meio de prima

  • still gives me the chills after all this years....Paul and the Beatles the BEST <# love love...

  • I Love that Paul still talks about The Beatles and performs songs by them.

  • This is beautiful. I love you Paul ♥

  • Would Ringo and Paul ever be old?? i don't think so... they are legends man!

  • these guys are seasoned pros but no one can do that song better than the Beatles themselves (plus billy preston on hammond)!

  • In 5:35 - 5:40 .. Paul is like.. look George and John I'm playing like a Beatle again. :)

  • rock on beatle you rock paul mc cartney!!!!!

  • God I wish I could have been there...how cool is this..the Ed Sullivan Theater and Paul in a pink shirt singing his heart out...aaahhh..thanks for uploading

  • the song is called get back , mr obvious ^^

  • Comment removed

  • Sing the changes, nice song I listen it in Up and Coming tour, and Get Back too, and Paul looks so young, you can't think how old is he?He is forever young and cute...

  • like .. what do you tell yourself when you wake up in the morning, drive to your job as Paul McCartney's GUITARIST, play on the marquee of the former location of the Ed Sullivan show where the Beatles ROCKED, and play GEORGE HARRISON'S GUITAR SOLO IN GET BACK?

    luckiest man alive ....

  • @rupertislove11 great apart from that it was john who played the solo

small detail though. keep on rocking

  • L E G E N D

  • Why the hell was this great song not a huge radio hit? I really don't get it. :-(

  • go paul go

  • 1 wow ty

  • Watching this reminds me of when I was 17 and went to see Hard Day's Night on opening day.

  • 1:27 I don't have to read the info to know the song :)

  • why do the guys from the band always have to spoil the song (sing the changes)?? they should listen to the album version of the song and sing it properly. they make it sound f*cking stupid

  • @jablkovastrudla I don't think that they are doing anything that has not been ok'd by Paul.

  • @bashfulbrother still, it doesn't sound good.. a great deal of the song's energy lies in the "ooh-oooh" parts and they got it wrong and killed the song. now it sounds like a parody :(

  • @jablkovastrudla Yeah, I can see what you are saying. I wasn't addressing the quality, it is just that McCartney is so anal about his music he probably wanted them doing it.

  • What can I say, the man's a legend!!!

  • I WANNA GET BACK!

  • don't make em like they used to.

  • things I noticed:

    - that's Sir Paul McCartney right there, a true music legend that can still perform as of today.

-performing using his baby, Hofner Violin Bass.

-performing on the rooftop that makes me remember The Beatles famous rooftop concert in which they also perform 'Get Back' on the same scene but not on the same building. :D

-performing on the Ed Sullivan Theater

  • Dear god Maccer, out of your entire catalogue you chose 'Get Back'?

  • Paul McCartney...an Icon and a TRUE legend....!!!!.....Btw?...Happy Birthday John Lennon!(RIP)

  • he's a vegetarian watch?v=WWMnscY04AY&feature=relmfu

  • Too bad he didn't play any early Beatles classics. Thank you for loading these vids. Priceless.

  • @javelin1010 He plated Helter Skelter and Get Back.

  • Everybody knows who the Beatles are. Everybody.

  • saw Paul at Cincinnati this past July and I actually underestimated the guy . He rocked for 3 hours , played lead guitar ( on a fabulous 50's Les Paul Standard) , uke, bass guitar , piano , sang like 23 yrold Paul , and generally blew every concert I have evr seen away .And I have seen many . This guy is a true genius and a brilliant performer to this day

  • Paul is a Fing STAR wow

  • I can't even with those teenagers just standing there not really realizing who they are watching. If I was there I would of been fist pumping to no end, without a doubt. Got to love Paul.

    "Get back Loretta!"

  • Paul's drummer is really really very good!

  • up there, someone couldve shot him

  • 2ND SONG REMINDS ME OF U2

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 more like u2 reminds you of that song

  • I wonder how many times Paul has played on the roof. This is the second one I have seen. The last time the Beatles performed together in public was on the roof of Apple Studios.

  • @bananacreampie8 Can't tell if twelve years old or just PMS-ing...

btw, if you really are a woman, consider changing your username; might let a lot of guys down with your misleading intention.

PREDICTION FOR YOUR RESPONSE: If twelve: won't understand what "banana creampie" or "PMS" is, and/or no reply is emitted.

If PMS-ing: Rage ensues; denies menstruation; name calling; many lulz are had by me and other men.

  • I'm originally from twickenham middlesex london england grew up there in the sixties, the beatles where a good part of my memories, buying there 45 rpm Record's good old days,Im a singer songwriter musician I started a beatles tribute band back in 1975 called the Hornet's,I just wrote and recorded a tribute song for John lennon and the Beatles Called.Everlasting Memory.Check it out on my Channel.

    Chris J Marr

  • @bananacreampie8 Woah! This guy knows how to google, guys! He sure showed me.

Come on, this isn't a competition to see who knows the Beatles more; Relax.

  • I like Faul a lot better!

  • @bananacreampie8 Ringo wasn't the original drummer; Pete Best was. But yeah, I know what you mean.

  • Any symmetry with this song played on a rooftop, as it was with the rooftop concert back in '69?

  • im 11 years old and i still love paul

  • he's still brilliant. good on ya Paul.

  • I wonder if that is the same ol' bass that his always had

  • Where was I ??? >:(

  • He's a class act.

  • I WANNA LIVE IN DA SIXTIES!!!! I WANT TO GO TO BEATLES CONCERT!

  • @Coolio170 YES, THANK YOU FOR RETYPING MetteXmoebjerg's COMMENT WITH CAPS LOCK; IT MAKES IT SO MUCH EASIER TO READ!!!!

  • The hairs on the back of my neck are standing up. Watching one of the Beatles recreate that amazing moment on the rooftop in London is like watching something biblical.

  • awesome its more awesome if RINGO STARR is the drummer

  • Good old Paul... All conspiracy theories are bullshit. How da hell could they find guy who looks like him, talks like him, acts like him, and sings like him... C'mon!

  • Is it just me, or does Paul seem more animated during the second song? Perfectly understandable though, people have made him play "Get back" over and over for 40 years now.

  • @tlatosmd I never thought of it that way, thanks for pointing it out.

  • Watching this makes me sad I'm only 17...

  • @Drewsnewtube I'm 17 and I'm happy my parents introduced me to bands like The Beatles, Queen, Journey and Boston before I was even 4 years old.

  • @Drewsnewtube don't be. the beatles are timeless. spans the gap of all age groups. I'm 29, and my kids will be brought up with the beatles. plenty of footage to relive the 60s.

  • @Drewsnewtube DREW - Sweetheart (I’m old enough to be your Dad) don't be Sad, be happy that you were alive at the same time as the most influential musician ever. Richard, Liverpool, UK

  • Paul is awesome but it would be impressive to watch the four playing there.

  • The world will never see the likes of this man again. Never before, and never after. And we're the lucky generation to have had him with us.

  • @TimothyQStanton : Very true. Paul is the most prolific singer songwriter of the 20th century. Those of us who grew up with him beginning in the early 60`s have had the pleasure of following his incredible career. I can1t even think of a bad song he has done. How a person can write so many great songs for so long is beyond me. I have seen him twice and both times I was in total awe....

  • Why wasn't I there, whyyy? :(:(

Oh well, I saw him live in 2009 (Gelredome) <3

  • GET BACK WOOOO!

  • Without the extra supports. That marque would not support him or his band.

  • 2000th person to like this :D! this is awesome!

  • This song is innovative. It has guitar parts like ealy sixties, some jazz, rock, and others

  • Sweet Jesus, that man has pipes.

  • SO HAPPY Paul is coming to Wrigely Field at the end of the month...so much better then where he played the last time he was in a Chicago Ballpark!

  • 17 people must have accidentally pushed the dislike button.

  • on sing in the changes the 12 string adds that awesome touch to an already superb song

  • One of my ex girlfriends got to go see and meet the Beatles in the 65-66 days. Paulie asked her if she wanted to go to "a potty" and she was embarassed and said 'no'. Later on she discovered that he wanted her to go "to a party" and so she missed out.

  • I've been fortunate to see McCartney twice and he is still on the top of his game.Lots of energy.Never slowed down.Great musician, entertainer and performer. And,for those who still bring up the "Paul is dead and thats his double"-Get a life. He's alive and well as you can plainly see.Happy early 69th birthday to Sir Paul.(His birthday is this Saturday)

  • @Fizzypop1211 well let's hope that that's not really true! :)

  • Those who disliked this vid are tone deaf and extraterrestials.

  • @billace90 Or teenage Beiber fans.

  • I would have paid good money to have been part of the crowd that night!

  • son of a bitch has still got it

  • They are really sounding great!

  • See! He's not dead. An imposter could never do that like Paul :)

  • My spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada said that the Beatles had been in India and had been very charitable in their past lives and that they were already talented musicians, so in this life, they got a lot of good karma back by receiving the return of their charity many times over. George was the one that took most advantage though of his good karma to become the most spiritual of all the Bealtes and introduce millions to the liberating sounds of the Hare Krsna mantra

  • Wonderful videos! Thanks for sharing !

  • I wonder how Paul must feel performing without the Beatles! it just makes me so sad and nostalgic, he seems almost incomplete without John,George and Ringo, like an image of his old self... but still he is amazing!

  • @newepa LOL the old miser is probably thinking "great...dont have to split this 4 ways... and that other bstrd wont get his name first on the credits....."

  • I wonder how Paul must feel performing without the Beatles! it just makes me so sad and nostalgic, he seems almost incomplete without John,George and Ringo, like an image of his old self... but still he is amazing!

  • 17 dislikes to this video? well, on behalf of everyone else here, I'd like to welcome you to Earth............

  • what song is that at 3:56

  • Come Together from Abbey Road

  • Thank you Paul for all those great years!

    And more to come

  • First time I've seen this...makes a mockery of the London gig where they were accosted by the cops...God Bless America and freedom...

  • @conmaesta Check out Where the streets have no name by U2 freedom lover!

  • @conmaesta London was NOT planned,in other words nor notified withb the police, etc, so ir caused a riot on the street, classic stuff. this is all registered. give me apple roof anytime

  • LOVE YOU PAUL....LOVE YOU JOHN....LOVE YOU GEORGE...LOVE YOU RINGO....THE GREATEST BAND THAT EVER LIVED...

  • ='C it will never be the same without John and George....

  • ringos better than this drummer :/

  • SING THE CHANGES!!!! :DDDDDD

  • Wow, he's nearly 70 and still going hard, and sounding awesome. What a legend

  • oh Loretta! its too bad he obviously has no bond with his backups. that's the fun of live music

  • @runcusion He,s been together with this band for years ;-)

  • Too bad legends die,I remember the Beatles at the beginning I was 13 ,wanted to grow my hair long ,my old man was a cop ,saying that they were transvest, wearing high heel boots, wich I wanted too,I had to wait till I was 16 ,then my hair grew ,became `Led Zeppelin fan ,those were the good days

  • I hate his band

  • Comment removed

  • @Misteryowl Hmmm, you seem troubled. Are you okay? home life?

  • @misterjim100

That's below the belt, man. Well done with the witty, comedic therapist vibe comment, though. Sorry for speaking my mind and appearing risible. Hope all's all well with you x

  • This was NOT a good idea for obvious reasons. Very surprised Paul agreed to it.

  • This guy is a great musician. Look for this guy to be famous one day..

  • @m2inla ? He is the most famous musician in the world?

  • Too Many People !

  • sexii entre mas viejo mas bueno chikitoo C;

  • I saw Paul in 1976 at the Seattle Kingdome, and even today, he's just as AWESOME!!!!

  • me too!!

  • Dangerous to perform live in such a place! Could have been shot too. How many Chapmans live free?

  • @Bass69Line FAR too many.. FAR more than people realize.. FAR more than in 1980.I remember it like it was yesterday.People dont realize that its NOT just the legends and the icons that live with this.Even on the tiniest level, there are deranged losers who develop a hate on for a particular person. You really think ANY famous music artist or hollywood person doesn't recieve wacko death threats DAILY?Its just that this type of thing is kept SECRET for obvious reasons.Fucking SAD.But TRUE

  • @Bass69Line one should NEVER deeply envy the famous on ANY level. No one really knows their lives but the people themselves. The REAL things that are dealt with that make their lives far more MISERABLE than the way it seems to come across. And danger of being killed;kidnapped and held for ransom(either themselves or loved ones) is a way of life NOT to be envied yanno ?As Lennon himself once said long ago... "be careful what you wish for" ( a FACT .. he did say that. How sadly ironic.

  • i wish i lived in the 60´s, so i could have been to a beatles concert

  • @MetteXmoebjerg Or incedently walked by the roof apple "concert";-)))

  • @MetteXmoebjerg you couldnt have heard anything!

  • @MetteXmoebjerg There was so much screaming the Beatles couldn't hear themselves think and you would have went deaf! One concert in NYC Georges' guitar amp or guitar "broke" and no one knew..not even Paul, John or Ringo the noise was so loud until maybe the song was over. But none the less I understand the feeling. Closest anyone can do is to see one of the many clones out there.

  • @MetteXmoebjerg You wouldn't have been able to hear them over the screams... Woulda sucked, lol ;)

  • Intramontabile questo cantante:))

  • And some people think yoko is better than paul

  • FREAKIN AWESOME PERFORMANCE!!!!!

  • god bless the internet

  • Paul likes to play on ROOFS..

  • kind of sad actually to see this... if i was him, i wouldn't have been able to do it. almost feels like a mockery or a shameful exploitation of a personal moment between brothers... alone.

  • I was 13 when this was popular, and I still have the 45! hahah

  • I walked by on this day and didn't realize it was Paul Mccartney at first. I was like wtf? OH SHIT! :D

  • Rollo, how old are you (If you don't mind me asking...)

  • Never heard this song before... GOOD!!! Different from his other songs.. modern sounding... as it rings in the head gets better. Nice to know he still got it. Live songs with good headphones are great.

  • @southsidesman Wow, you've never heard Get Back?! The song was a massive Beatles hit 42 years ago, in 1969. In Britain, it was the only Beatles single to enter the charts at #1, an extremely rare event in the sixties, and spent six weeks at #1. In the US, it was the very first single to enter the top ten in the first week of release and spent five weeks at #1. Worldwide sales are over seven million.

  • @GrahamLondonUK Lol. Funny how things are, glad you got irritated - I was speaking of the second song of this video "Sing the Changes" but your info on Get back is amazing, I didn't know it was so heralded. I was just looking to rock out on it.

Boy, as I play this Changes it definitly is seems like one of his best, born after 64.

  • @southsidesman Sorry, I misunderstood your comment!

  • @GrahamLondonUK Haha, glad you did... Peace.

  • Do you wanna Get Back/ /Yees/ Do You Wanna Get Back? / Yeees

  • "This song is called GET BACK for those who don't read the info"

who needs to read the info to know which song this is?

  • Got the sickest chills watching this.

  • I hope I look half as good as Paul when I turn 68. I can't get over how good he looks for his age!!!!! GO PAUL, you are the greatest!!!!!

  • Paul is the greatest. This roof top Get Back from Let it Be is one of the finest i ever seen. thanks Paul for beeing back to The Beatles for this moment.

  • pual is one in a milleon like all the other beatels

  • goose bumbsssssss...orgasmic....sooo frigging good

  • he sounds the same over how long and the people thesse days dont sound nothing like the recorded one live -- they sound crap -- they are crap, they should just shut up.

  • he still got it!(: i saw in an interview he did back in 1964 and he was talking about what he'll being doing in the year 2010 (ironic right? i watched the video back in november so it was still 2010) and he said he'd retire. well he certainly was wrong! he's now 68 and still rocking out! Paul just blows me away(: he never ceases to amaze me(: luv ya paulie<3333

  • Imagine the traffic around that block

  • Paul sounds almost exactly the same as he did when these songs were originally published

  • You gota be kidding. Paul has always had a great and very versatile voice

  • he's about the only great vocalist of all time not to deteriorate with age. so magnificent.

  • what I love about this is that I bet this was the first time in decades that Paul EVER played GET BACK on top of a building of some sort. No wonder he got so freakn excited!! kick assssss!!!!!!! LOVE IT!

  • i find it sad that the majority of the crowd seem to be over 30 years old. It's Paul McCartney dude...

  • Abe Laboriel, Jr.!

  • I know Paul is 68 and as you get older your singing voice begins to go away but Paul's voice isn't that great even when he was young except on a couple of songs like Yesterday and Let It Be. John and George had better voices.

  • @MJJFan01 I thought Paul and John had the best voices.

  • @MJJFan01

his voice hasn't aged a bit though, props for that

  • @MJJFan01 Not true. Paul has a great singing voice. Listen to Eleanor Rigby. Amazing voice. Plus, getting older doesn't instantly mean your voice starts to eb away. Listen to Halford from Judas Priest, the album Nostradamus, song Death. He's 70 there and has an amazing voice.

  • Awesome! what a bad ass!

  • the today show ( NBC ) HAS NEVER HAD A TURN OUT OF PEOPLE TO WATCH A PERFORMER SING LIKE THAT.. WAY TO GO DAVE... YOU SHOWED THEM THANK'S TO HAVING PAUL MCCARTNEY... WAS THERE EVER A COUNT ?

  • what an honor it must be for those musicians to play next to sir paul mccartney.

  • I just spend 4 hours from 3 am to 7 am searching The Beatles on Youtube, and i don't regret it!!! :D

  • HAs Pauls guitar been modified to stock or did he get a new one?

  • i like seeing all the people singing as they watched him

  • Look how the Beatles touched the world back in the 1960's and how Paul McCartney continues to blow them away today. He is, and will always be, one of the best song writers and performers of all time. Thanks CBS and David Letterman for sharing Paul moment with us.

  • It's funny, but it seems like about once I month I find myself spending entire evenings searching for Paul McCartney related videos on YouTube.

  • @rollo131 you're not alone. I've been doing the same thing umm but almost everyday for a couple of months now :-P started with the Beatles, ..... then it goes on & on....

  • @rollo131 Well at that rate, you should run out of videos in about 300 years.

  • @rollo131 ha ha so do i
