Engines are not that quite, you can hear them very well from outside, but the plane is much better isolated

Once the stretch version comes out (800 px) flying between hub airports could make the 380 in the future the ONLY economical way. The 2 engined A350s and dreamliners can serve the smaller airports. Its all about fuel burn and CO2.

I think the A350, which will come out in about four years, will be even quieter. The A380 is a technical masterpiece and this construction know-how will pass onto the 350.

this plane is basically the 747-400 in size its just longer on top, its a 747-400 with a longer top, and an airbus sticker slapped on it. maybe a little bit bigger engines, but thatrs all airbus does, is copy and try to make the same airceraft as boeing, but make it have differerent engines.

What are you talking about dylanhelmer? There is no resemblance at all between the 747-400 and the A380! Think about it, the engines look completely differently, not to mention the type of engine. The nose is completely differently on the a380, and the cockpit windows appear to be in between the upper and lower deck. On the 747, the flight deck is obviously on the upper deck. The wings are very different, spoilers all across the wing, flaps different, and the winglets are different. Different.

@dylanhelmer Lol you dont know nothing, 747 and A380 have fully different systems, A380 Flybywire, 747 is not, A380 have joystick, 747 have yoke, cockpit and all systems are fully different, they are built different ways.

@dylanhelmer to copy means to make something "exactly" the same as the item you are copying from. But the A380's dimensions are all different from the 747, the wings, the tail, the lengths, height, wingspan, the curvature of the wings, the materials used in the A380 are much more advanced.

The engines might be bigger but thats not all that was focused on. Instead of sticking 4x GR90's they actually tried to make a more powerful engine for the plane. It's not all about size.

I love flying & I've flown in a lot of planes - & I do love a good noisy "you can feel the plane" experience but I have to admit the A380 IS this quiet - a little odd at first but it really is a very peaceful bird.. even in economy class..

The quietness of these engines is unbelievable! B747, A340-600 and B767 are so loud in comparison to A380... this new bird is really a state-of-the-art invention
